Dupers in 1.7.7 don't know what hit them
mzltv replied to blancharke's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Hahahahaha. That's superb. They got done over by their own expoliting. Quality idea man. -
Considering you posted this is the New Player Discussion sub-forum, I have no idea how you missed this thread... http://dayzmod.com/f...-it-ask-here-2/ edit; you may wanna consider listing your graphics card also. edit 2; if you're spending that much money, have you considered waiting for the next gen of intel processors? i7's aren't necessarily the best if you're using the build strictly for gaming...

Petition for Mountain Dew on SA Game
mzltv replied to armedtoe (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Whilst I can empathise with you - it's not really that simple as asking loads of people to sign the petition. They contacted the companies who are included in the mod (Heinz, Coca-Cola.. etc) and as far as I'm aware, they received no response. BIS would require permission from the companies themselves, otherwise they could end up in court and having to pay out a settlement. If you're willing to foot the bill on copyright infringement, then sure - break them all! Companies may not want their products associated with violence and horror and that. Chances are they will not get approval from the Head Offices. -

Dayz SA only 150 People allowed in Open alpha? is it true?
mzltv replied to NozRee's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I remember reading that they wanted to release keys for the game in batches at a time, just to ensure that they don't release 2,000,000 game keys to have the servers/hive completely melt down and destroy the rep from the game on release day. Kind of like a deterrent to ensure what happened to Sim City doesn't happen to DayZ.. -
Dayz SA only 150 People allowed in Open alpha? is it true?
mzltv replied to NozRee's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The current planning for release (as far as I am aware) is:- - External Closed Testing (comprising of streamers and various other members of the community) - Public Alpha Release (which will have limited keys released in batches upon the bug-fixing/satisfaction of the external closed testing builds) -

mzltv replied to NozRee's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm not entirely sure how many people were nominated. Specific infomation about the coming external closed testing may be discussed at E3. I keep thinking I've missed the boat on this topic, though. -
Right opposite Konami! Do us a favour Matt and chuck a stapler at Hideo Kojima's head. Way to ruin a franchaise, asshole!

DayZ Double Developer Blog 14th May 2013
mzltv replied to mattlightfoot's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
I think the new short and sweet tweets are pretty decent - whilst a DevBlog does offer a lot more indepth insight, the tweets offer regular quick updates - and I could swear about 30% of you lot were QQing about a month ago, over the lack of development updates!? To be honest, if I was Rocket, I wouldn't be doing a DevBlog today. I mean, come on... Prison Architect Alpha10 build came out yesterday! -
Will my pc run it and is it worth getting now?
mzltv replied to Trebor901's topic in New Player Discussion
There's a thread for your kind of question here But I think that the problem is going to be your CPU. 2.4GHz isn't that much power, and DayZ is very heavily dependant on CPU processing power, as oppossed to GPU processing power. You may want to specify your GPU also - "I Know It Can Run It" isn't a brand I've ever heard of, I'm afraid! -
The fact you've got to design the build specifically for it to be a Hackintosh has kinda put me off to be honest. I think I'll just get my build how it's laid out at the moment, and use the desktop for mixing and stuff. It seems to be compatible regardless, so it should work fine (in theory) If I encounter any problems with using it on my desktop (which I'd like to think I wouldn't, given the decent specs) then I'll look at getting a Macbook purely for the mixing side. Great advice once again, though, Beat. :beans:

How do I go about with installing this 'Hackintosh' device/software? Will this mean that I can't be using Windows 7 as my OS? The SSD will only be used for booting, and maybe holding Traktor so I'm a bit more comfortable without performance issues midway through a mix. What benefits would I get from increasing my RAM from 8GB to 12GB/16GB? There's a soundcard built into the MIDI Controller I've got, so that's that base covered.
-
I'm currently buying bits for my first build (see the below specs) I was just wondering - I'm going to be using it for gaming and using NativeInstruments Traktor, so I can do some digital audio mixing. Would you recommend I consider getting more RAM, in this case? Would it make things run a lot more smooth? I'm aware that digital mixing can put a lot of strain onto computers... Sorry, not strictly a DayZ related question - but a lot of people here know about the functionality/importance of specific components

Now now - just because the country is in a crisis, doesn't make any excuse for a lax approach to gardening and roadway maintenance!

DayZ Double Developer Blog 14th May 2013
mzltv replied to mattlightfoot's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
This is what I could imagine also. I know a lot of people proper love playing DayZ with tunes on in the background. It's cool how the new radio concept is going to be able to bring that habit of listening to music whilst playing into the DayZ world. -
Okay - in my view, it's a bad idea. They've completely reworked the loot system to make it more of a challenge to find things - you have to search every nook and cranny for loot; whilst I can sympathise at the availability of weapons should be more expansive, and not locked to specific loot locations, your suggestion just seems a little killjoy. It's not gonna be exciting finding a weapon if they're literally all over the place. I think the fact you'll have to maintain your weapon's status will be sufficient enough, but the idea of all weapons being broken and rusted over is null and void anyway, because you don't know the timescale the storyline will be following. I would like to see more vehicles totalled/borderline unrepairable for the sake of atmospheric value too.
-
No it isn't - you've just completely fabricated that. DayZ hasn't had an official background story developed/released yet.
