    Should people stop complaining?

Yo dawg, I wish to register a complaint about those complaining about all the complainers complaining.

    Im done, hackers win...

    Americans, LDO.
  4. That's the thing: I'm not at all certain on how that actually works in the base game. I'm pretty sure insurgents, militias, civilians, etc don't wear body armour and it seems like damage values for them are still calculated as if they theoretically are wearing vests and helmets? Hence the goofiness we are now seeing in DayZ. It's all seems a bit lazy on BIS part, because it should be trivial to check whether armour is being worn whenever a given character model is hit and then adjust the damage values accordingly. Truthfully, I'm not too panicked as what I just suggested above can be modded into the game without too much hassle, and soon we'll have A3 which will have a much more detailed and realistic approach to the whole equipment, weapons, attachments, uniforms dynamics. So, we shouldn't see this kind of nonsense popping up in the sequel, which is the game DayZ standalone will be based off (assuming rocket continues using the RV engine).
  5. Yes, I think this is a legitimate sore spot for quite a few of the hardcore, long-time ARMA guys. I remember that when something along these lines was suggested on the BI forums a few weeks back, the response from Marek himself was quite arrogant and off-putting. OTOH, the flagrant bashing of the DayZ community and player base going on over there is completely out of line and greatly misguided.
  6. I followed that thread very closely. Honestly, I'm confused, but it seems everybody was making the assumption that all combatants in ARMA are wearing body armour? If so, then the new values make more sense. Still, something seems extremely fishy to me. Like it's been said on these forums over and over, there's no way it should take more than a couple of rounds of .45 at close range to incapacitate and/or kill a man who is not wearing a bulletproof vest. And, I was under the impression that none of the dayz character models are wearing body armour of any sort? So, I'm not quite sure what gives, but I'm still inclined to call bullshit. Edit: My observations regarding the BIS forum discussion echo more or less what Skint related a few posts above mine. Also, all these twits claiming they can walk through 9mm fire are suffering from internet tough guy syndrome. The cops in my hometown are particularly trigger happy and they gun down fools any chance they get. Their prefered method of delivery is a few 9mm rounds to the chest (or back) and almost all of these shootings are fatal for those on the receiving end.

    Weapon Damage Re-upped

Max et al, this topic is being discussed here (starting with post 198 as far as i can tell): http://forums.bistud...l=1#post2195950 Calm, rational contributions would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Weapon Damage Nerfs

Somebody gets it. The buck needs to start and stop here. All other discussion on this subject is a load of wank. Edit: here's another one that gets it: I'm sure there's others in this thread. Apologies for having missed you.
  9. I'll say it again: opinions on this subject are completely worthless. All opiinions ITT should be expunged with extreme prejudice. I want to march all your precious, fucking opinions out back, line 'em up against the wall and shoot them. There is only one question to consider in this discussion. Are these weapons being simulated in the most realistic manner possible?
  10. If I shoot you in the torso with a 1911 - or an AK for that matter - then 9 times out of 10 you're not getting up. Period. Talk of gameplay balance or whether somebody "likes the new changes" or whatnot have absolutely no place in what should be a realistic military simulation. I'm thinking that there must have been some horrible mistake, otherwise BIS just went full retard.
  11. From what I've seen over the last couple of months, I'd say that there's a large, silent majority of dayz players (and former dayz players) that share this sentiment. The problem is that almost everyone who has tried to plead this case on the forums has been effectively run out of town. Actually, it's not even so much a problem of being shouted down on the forums, but rather the simple fact that rocket has repeatedly stated that his laissez-faire approach to the bandit-survivor dynamic is functioning as intended and he's been adamant in his refusals to address the issue. So, the net effect has been that most of the reasonable, sane people have effectively given up pleading for meaningful change and pretty much abandoned the game and the forums to the lowlifes. It's the societal leftovers - the griefers and trolls - who are running the asylum now. I guess that's the way rocket wants it. Welcome to dayz, motherfuckers.
  12. Jesus. What the fuck is wrong with you? You have the reading comprehension skills of a cross-eyed Catfish. My original post makes it perfectly clear what I was refering to with my question. Here it is again: Quick question: where do you find these statistics? Of all my posts on this board and this is the one that I get flamed for the hardest? It's pretty LOL really. Now, stop wasting my time and DIAGF, Troll.
  13. Doesn't appear to show players currently playing the game. If you paid attention, you'd realize that was the statistics I was specifically asking about. Also: fuck you.
  14. Yes, but it should be easier to place/hide tents.
