Although my feelings on the situation are a little different then yours, I can somewhat agree with your main point. Wither way it can come down to killing helpless ants for the sake of killing helpless ants. Difference is, one is working as intended and the other isn't. -

I was thinking more that there's no way in hell he's using anything other then Arma2/3 engine if he's calling it that soon. Or he talking out his ass. Either way enough attention has been called to this type of game that somebody will make a standalone title, someday. Hopefully sooner rather then later. -
Alright, I've looked it up but I can't find a general consensus, am I permanently trapped in the TD, should I wait awhile before relogging? I immediately aborted (Alt+F4 doesn't work for me for some reason) when it happened since I figured something wasn't right when I magically got transported from an empty Stary Sobor. Sucks if I lost my gear/character since this is the first time I had a good weapon (CZ) and plenty o' vittles. I mean, if so, oh well, but if I can possibly save my crap from being lost I'll take a break and make lunch/get fresh air/leave mom's basement for awhile.

Picked a server that was showing 4 people active, ran immediately as I spawned away from Airfield, got sniped broken leg, gg. Oh well, no one lives forever, it was nice having a cool weapon and survival tools though. :/ Any recommendations for US servers?

Find a low pop server, sprint into Chern/Elek loot ALL THE PLACES while kiting zombies through buildings. Once you've got the necessities (survival gear yay!) GTFO into the wilderness. Head north while searching deer stands for lucky drops of military grade crap, if you want to risk it try zerging airfields/military. If not scavenge the small/medium towns that everyone else ignores. Make friends, get gear, decide to be a bandit and/or group up/lone wolf. Break legs on closing doors, die of dehydration next to lakes, congratulations you are successful at zombie life. Die unexpectedly, do it all over again.

Thank you for the advice, maybe this will be a blessing in disguise. If I respawn fresh I have nothing to lose trying to zerg some good gear.

Haha, now I remember why it sounded familar. Eh, it sucks if so, but like I said my best weapon was a CZ550, which I only fired once in the last 3 hours since I got it. (wanted to test my aim on a zombie.) So it's not the end of the world. Though I will miss the matches...

At the same time you don't even have to be a bandit to get the gear, so many fresh corpses to scavenge midtier items off of in the city. Plus as a fresh spawn means who cares if you get sniped zerging? -

Difference between COD and Day Z; In CoD, buggy networking and hitboxes/detection kill me. Plus it had an unimaginably huge development team + mountains of cash. In DayZ, buggy hitboxes/detection breaks my legs leaving me to suffer for hours before I am devoured by the undead or murdered by psychopaths as I scream/crawl for help. Plus, this was developed by 1 guy for FREE. Which one sounds way more interesting to you? -

I haven't really found much outside of the occasional hatchet or two myself. Most of my weapons have been from scavenging cities or the occasional dead body. I've spent most of time out in the wilderness so maybe small towns don't have many weapons or I'm just consistently 2nd fiddle to some other scavenger. -

Be a god damn enigma man. Scavenge as much medical/ammo as you can then shoot people and heal them back up. They will learn to appreciate the life you have gifted them. -

Maybe he paid 1500 4 years ago? Hell my friend's father has spent almost 15,000$ on his rig, mostly because as soon as a new tier comes out he immediately upgrades it, plus he's paying shop fee's and installation. He just has a walk in closet full of "old" parts. Shit, his 6th "extra computer" in case someone drops by that doesn't have one is better then mine. No friggin' joke. If some people can afford to blow the cash for the convenience, more power to em. -

Did you build it? Did you buy the parts on sale? Are they all properly compatible with each other/Day Z? Not impossible. At the time I built my rig, I spent ~450$ while my friend bought a comparable rig for 1100$. Maybe not the 850$ difference stated above, but it can vary quite a bit. For this game though, I have no idea.lol -

Ah. I know I'll have to upgrade eventually, as I did my GPU, I just hate doing so. As long as I can pull a general 60FPS I don't care how bad the game looks, gimme the Crayola SC2 marines I don't care. Haha, I have the Phenom Black from a few years ago, has been a good little bastard for the cost. -
Day Z has definitely drawn mainstream interest, so competitors will only be natural. This can be good and bad of course. The good is it'll push Day Z to stand apart from the clones by aggressively throwing out patches/content and possibly a standalone quickly. The bad is it'll force Day Z to aggressively throw out patches/content and possibly a standalone quickly cause lots of errors and rushed decisions. I'm predicting that it'll be based on the ARMA2 engine, because how else is Rocket gonna get this shit out by the end of the year as he speculated? That or he's just talking out his ass.lol

This. It'd be a nice feature to let your character be able to put one in his dome if you have a handgun+ammo. As long as respawns stay sans weapon this could be a nice (if minor) bonus. Plus with proper animations it could create excellent atmosphere.

I guess it depends on how many you attract, I've escaped 4-5 just by booking it past them.

Communities tend to be like this. Not that I approve of the behavior, but common sense says that insulting the game on a forum DEDICATED to that game won't end well at all. Not that I think constructive criticism should be responded to in the same way mind you.
