I like this function a lot. But does it take in consideration, driving vehicles and or rubber-banding etc?

Unarmed fighting needs to be severely nerfed
hatesauce replied to andrestor's topic in General Discussion
Yet it takes multiple hits from a baseball bat and or other blunt objects in game...makes no sense. -
10 minute is not enough to loot dead bodies you put down
hatesauce replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
wouldn't this just create the same if not more problems with th servers. The ten minute timer seems counter intuitive as people will just start stripping corpses creating more problems. -
Dyslecxi shows just how amazing 1PP only is in NEW video.
hatesauce replied to Sidewinder24's topic in Gallery
I have been against 1PP only and even posted complaining about the 1PP only servers, but in the last while I have found it makes more sense and is overall a better way to play in Third Person. In a gun fight im never in 3PP anyway. -

Firefighter's axe in a backpack, but not an M4?
hatesauce replied to subliminal_city's topic in General Discussion
We usually run a group with at least one of us with a Mosin. I think it makes the game more realistic having a spotting sniper on a hill and a bunch of soldiers/grunts going in and clearing out rooms. It's a lot better than the mod when you carry like 6 machine guns/rifles in your bag. So unrealistic. -
We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.
hatesauce replied to 1S1K-Airborne's topic in General Discussion
I wear a yellow and brown checkered bandana on my head so my friends can easily identify me, also those colors are rare. It works already. But I agree having more variety of clothing would make identifying the people you are grouped with easier and more realistic -

hatesauce replied to 1S1K-Airborne's topic in General Discussion
Defeats the purpose of the game. If you are with friends you should be smart enough to wear identifiable items and or communicate your position. This is a simulator, that being said you cant tell who is good or bad just by looking at them. Someone bury this thread please. -
You havent eaten enough. When you bring up the inventory it will say 'healthy' in the status area if you are full health. Then and only then will you start regenerating blood. You sound like you are extremely low on blood and possibly health if the screen is blurred. You will need a buttload of food and water, keep drinking and eating until you see the notification pop up saying "I feel completely Stuffed" and your inventory screen shows the healthy status. The color will start coming back. Dont eat raw rice it makes you thirsty (apparently). And eat/drink everything you find right away, my advice is to find a bunch of food/water and sit and eat until you hit the status I mentioned.

So why do people refuse being held up?
hatesauce replied to Mays (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
You do realize roughly a million people bought the standalone game. A lot of people do not know how to use the gestures. Hell when I started up again I totally forgot until I looked it up. -
I have an idea for helping with the KOS problem. Rocket should read.
hatesauce replied to Rzach's topic in General Discussion
I think the OP's ideas are neat, but really don't gibe with DayZ as it stands. For starters there are plenty of occasions where people in game have displayed some form of moral compass. I will use my situation as an example. Normally, when I am at the airfields I have a 'shoot first an ask questions later' mentaliy because if someone else has a gun chances are I am gonna get shot. So I shoot first. There was a situation when I was running along the treeline near Solnichny and I heard this kid talking over the local coms. "Hey I need food I need food!" As he runs towards me. I immediately stop in my tracks pointed my m4 at him and told him to stop and put his hands up. Then I heard gun shots in the distance and thoughts were going off in my head (what if he is baiting me to get killed? What if he pulls out a gun and shoots me? If I help this guy what if he hits me or does something?) Rather than blasting him into respawn oblivion, I ordered him not to move. I dropped a can of sardines on the ground and then told him not to follow me or id kill him. Note: He had no visible weapon, but at the same time I felt there was no point in killing him. Moral compass can play a part in this even if KoS is an option. And just as a take away anytime you shoot your gun whether its to KoS or not you are basically inviting people to come kill you so there is that. -
With literally nothing spent on marketing the game – “We haven’t spent a single dollar” – the game is a true viral success.

This is a great comparison. I actually feel the same stress, anxiety, and excitement when I see a person run by in DayZ like i did as a naked miner with a dragon in my pack in Ultima Online. Oh the loot I got from robbing peoples houses and hunting people in dungeons. DayZ is like the grown up Ultima Online with guns and Zombies etc. -
It's prett straight forward.

Is it worth buying Dayz standalone yet? [With Developer responses]
hatesauce replied to Blade4777980's topic in General Discussion
As a vet of the Mod and having experienced most of what it has to offer coming to the standalone is sort of fresh. My friends and I took a break for a while and came back to a DayZ that has lots of potential. Is it worth buying now? Sure, if you arent easily frustrated and undertstand this is in its infant/alpa stages, $30 bucks isnt bad. I will break this down with some of my personal observations to make it easier for you to make a decision. Pros: Much faster server login times/spawns than the mod had. Newer items such as Hats, gloves, axes, hemlets etc. Customization of your Character various attachments for your guns to make them look cool food varities new areas/towns Cons (some are soon to be added as per the update posts): Less zombies No aminals to hunt yet no drivable cars or helicopters/downed or otherwise limited supplies as for crafting building Hit detection is a little wonky no hud indicator for health Items under beds are often unobtainable Bugs can often be death sentences. -
I found the FN FAL actually sucked more than my M4

That scream effect was completely unnecessary and hurt my ears. I was not scared nor convinced by this thread. In fact it kind of made me mad. -
I have been playing DayZ for quite some time now and still learn new things. I have a run down for some newer players looking for some top tips/rules that will help you survive in DayZ: Rule #1) In a survival situation consider EVERYONE a threat unless you personally know them. This means shoot first ask questions later - killing someone on sight doesn't make you bad because 9 times out of 10 they will do the same to you. Rule #2) Not to state the obvious but, find a gun above anything else. A gun will save your life, food and water should be secondary to protection. If you can't protect yourself you're dead anyway. Rule #3) Stay out of main cities unless absolutely necessary. You will find more people are there to take what you have - scavenging previously high population areas is risky. Rule #4) Power is always in numbers. Being alone is an eventual death sentence and in most cases results in a rather quick death. Other people are not the only threat. Anything from falling off stairs to trapping yourself in a corner are easy ways to die when alone. So invite some friends to play DayZ. Convince them, beg them and beat them to join you. Rule #5) Always use the trees as cover. I can not stress enough how excellent trees/bushes/forests are for concealing your activity. This goes hand in hand with making campfires. Rule #6) Carry additional and alternative weapons and ammo. Varied weapons allow for back up in case you run out of primary and secondary ammos. Rule #7) Find an ax, a knife and matches. Why? Because making camp fires and hunting live animals is safer than running to town for food plus, meat heals for more than double what beans do and you get much more from wild animals than you would from a canned food spawn. Rule #8)The best areas to find items are actually outside the cities, in tents, placed by other players. With patience and perseverance you can find all sorts of stashed loot and vehicles in the outskirts of the main map bordering the forest and the "debug forest". Rule #9) Crawling can save your life. Silence can often be a savior when dealing with Zeds and even actual players. That being said, don't shoot your gun unless you have to. Rule #10) Whenever you notice a dead body hide, get to a safe vantage point and check your surroundings, snipers and bandits alike will often use fresh kills to bait curious and greedy players.

I have been thinking about this for a long time and how often I witness people complaining about bandits or people killing on sight but, I also consider real situations where the few survivors who have guns and how they would potentially react in a survival situation. Some people would say "I wouldn't kill for food." while others would shoot you just because you have a bigger pack or items they could utilize. In this sense I do consider DayZ to be a survival simulator as opposed to just senseless survival/pvp. So here are my top 10 survival rules for DayZ and real-life in a respective situation: Rule #1) In a survival situation consider EVERYONE a threat unless you personally know them. Just in case anyone else attempts this, I thought I would give a head's up: If you decide you want to, for whatever reason, hop over the front of a parked hatchback and then lay-down "inside of it" (Yes this can be done and playing hide-and-go-seek with your friends is fun) but, be warned that when you attempt to stand up, you will suddenly find your legs are broken and you will begin to bleed profusely. You are now stuck and your friends will not be able to help you. You will bleed slowly out and die a horrible death. Congratulations! You have just died by way of parked car! Level 1 Retarded Death Achieved. Retarded just like this post.
