    US1169 ADMIN ABUSE RESETTING SERVER

    Who can restart the server that quickly anyway? 4-5 seconds is extremely fast. Servers can restart at whatever interval the admin specifies. You're just being really rude now. This thread is a great example of jumping to conclusions. It was probably a coincidental, so please stop freaking out because you couldn't loot the guy's corpse.

    @Sanadorn Same boat as you buddy. Was just hit by the teleport massacre on 737. I guess upgrading to the latest package was a bad idea. It's not HFB's fault I believe - BattleEye just has a new script logging method, or at least I hope so because the alternative is no logging method at all. Here's a list of players online at the time. I have a few suspects so I listed their GUIDs. Let me know if any pop up on your server and we can crowsource their demise.

    Yeah other threads are mentioning the teleporting, but it isn't always to the same place. Apparently these guys also gave everyone amazing gear and turned them into animals before the slaughtering. What dicks.

    Were you teleported to a beach by any chance? I'm thinking these may be the same guys hopping around. I'm getting reports of this happening on my server so I shut it down while doing damage control. I've never had to deal with cheaters thus far so any guidance from the dev team or other admins would be much appreciated. Currently am sifting though logs, but battleye changed their script logging method so I'm having trouble.

    Hey everyone, I think now I'm ready to share something that a friend and I have been working for the past few days. http://dayzhq.com/map/ The goal of the map isn't necessarily to point out where to get amazing loot, but rather to help you get your bearings and maybe tell your friend where you are in relation to landmarks. At least, that was the goal when I was putting this together for myself and some friends. Adding detailed loot spawn information kind of spoils the adventure in the game. It turns the game from an exciting apocalypse simulator into a statistical drop rate simulator. We know that there are quite a few maps out there already. So while building this one, we considered what the other maps offered and chose to do things a bit differently: Dynamic text labels for towns (easily visible from all zoom levels) An easy to use correction system so the map is constantly evolving and improving based on user feedback and mass knowledge Extra, non-typical map markers (important buildings, mountains, colloquial names, etc.) Combining key points on one map, so there's no need to have a vehicle spawn map and a deer stand map open in separate tabs, for example Mobile friendly (works great on a tablet) Cyrillic text toggles A dynamic distance scale A permalink feature that enables you to share the map view with your friends (including zoom, lat, and lng) ! Instant search of cities and landmarks, both Cyrillic and Latin characters And in the coming days, the hope is to add a few more features: Point-to-point distance estimator (example: how many km is it to run from Balota to Novy Sobor, and how long will it take to run there?) A player spawn location layer Live mouse coordinate tracking A direct DayZHQ map to in-game map coordinate translation (first I need to get my hands on a map in the game...) Your own markers, and the ability to share them with friends A 1km grid overlay Improved interface and usability Coordinate search More building and vehicle types! Integration with the wiki Settings (layer toggles/view options/map position) saved for you But in the mean time, if anyone feels like contributing it's as easy as right clicking on the map. Adding new markers is extremely trivial since the map is powered by a MySQL database and a neat little back-end interface. It's just a matter of sorting through corrections and verifying their validity. Let's make this the most verbose DayZ map out there! Please remember that it's a work in progress. We (Trigve and I) would absolutely love to hear any suggestions! Hope you guys find it useful!

    Elektro Hospital?

    Oops, that extra hospital marker was added by mistake! I thought I checked it. Sorry about that - removed. Edit: it only looks like a hospital from the distance -- you can go into the lobby but there aren't any medical supplies. Only lower tier loot.

    Pretty sure you're talking out your arse here. Cloudflare doesn't even cache .php/.asp filetypes (a la dynamic content) - just the static stuff. The only time you'd get the CF offline page is when (a) server is actually having issues, or (b) something is blocking requests from CloudFlare's IPs (at the host or server level). It's also possible that the CF IPs aren't whitelisted on your server and with the hosting provider. In the case of the DayZ forum, it's probably an issue with the amount of users on concurrently impacting the server(s), understandably. Not necessarily Cloudflare screwing up. As a whole, you're misunderstanding Cloudflare's purpose. It's a threat mitigation and STATIC content caching service. Your dynamic stuff should and always will go straight to your server. I save hundreds of gigabytes of bandwidth and reduce threats screwing up my bounce rates by passing all of my traffic through Cloudflare first, so you bet I'm going to defend their honour.

    Thank you! Yep I'm having some issues optimizing everything for Firefox right now. I think it's all of the alpha transparency being used on the 300+ markers. Trying to fix it asap since about a third of the users run Firefox. Webkit browsers like Chrome are silky smooth though.

    [DayZMod] Do you have an API?

    I would also love a JSON output. Something like stats.dayzmod.com/json/player_id/XXXXXXXXXX would be neat! If it would spit out their kills, infected kills, time alive, deaths, etc., people could make some cool uses of that information. Would that really be considered an API though? Writing a verbose API is both hard and time consuming, from what I understand. Gotta make sure people don't do something nasty!

    The controls are in your settings, in detail. But I think the default toggle for the flashlight is L. ArmA is a simulator, and it has controls tailored to the folks that appreciate intricacy.

    Mass database is great in theory but...

    Individual player stats are awesome, and should definitely be collected into a central database. At least, that's what the stat nerd in me wants. Player locations and inventories are more up in the air. It would be interesting to see what server owners would trend into doing if they had the option to keep player information local. Do you think the mass of players prefer the current system or what you're suggesting, and would most servers cave to their expectations? Kind of OT: Does anyone happen to know what kind of database system DayZ uses? Is it something like Cassandra, FlockDB, or MySQL (I'd imagine that'd be slow)? Just curious really.

    I think the reasoning behind removing the starting Makarov was to allow newly spawned players to build camaraderie with each other. As it turns out, that's a bit idealistic. The newbies are now easy pickings for geared up players and infected alike. >> Second, if you come across a player or group of players that are hostile. you have no means of defense. So your only option is to some how dodge the bullets and escape, or die. And even worse, those players will probably assume you're armed - shooting first and asking questions later.

    Thanks! I've been playing with the marker backgrounds and recently changed back to the white for the sake of aesthetics. But I agree they could do with more contrast, so I'll tweak some things to make them darker and stand out. :)
