Since I own neither the mod nore the standalone I was wondering, since if I was ever to get one I would pick the standalone, are the updates/patches for the DayZ Standalone free?

Personally this is just cause I'm an anti-establishment kind of guy that thinks an established bandit army to just kill everyone would be pretty cool, I kill people all the time pretty much so this is something I can really get behind. I have nothing against, although this post makes me look like I do, against heroes. Which ever side you chose just make sure to have fun doing it... the pay-day mask would be the signature look btw... And remember speed and aggression gentlemen... -

and this was brought to the front cause of me? EPIC LOLZ!... is dayz really that scared of warz popping up on their forums? probbly the dayz fans not the develpopers flipping out... BESIDES IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU WANT, ALOT OF REALISM OR NO REALSIM... THEY BOTH HAVE THOSE!... WARZ HAS STAMINA AND DAYZ HAS WEIRD BUT FUNNY BREAKING LEGS AND DEATH! EITHER WAY U DIE IN BOTH! DIE MY FRIENDS DIE BY MY SIDE... and so this goes to the front page, WARZ IS DA BEST(its ok) I WOULD DIE WITHOUT IT(its not fun without people) BUY IT OR DIE(actually im not that loyal to it) have a merry christmas!?

as i look back i dont really care what i said then... i was in fanboy faze getting all hyped up to play one or the other and thought i'd get dayz cause it came first but got warz instead, yadda yadda blah... but now that i think about it as long as the rarity of some things go down and you start with atleast the makarov ur good to go... maybe ill get the standalone dayz to go along with warz, which has failed for reasons i cant understand, no one really plays... from 100 some people on a server to 10 at most, its and fps with zombies whats too hate? no cars yet, but thats the only major diff between warz and dayz... dayz: zombie srvival sim warz: war inc with zombies and the need to go nom nom nom...

lol got warz no need for dayz unless it becomes better... realism aint much lol... come to warz its the same but better... the differences are slim and only better, 1. you dont break bones when u crawl 2. they have fixed many things like 1 foot fall damage fail 3. clans clans clans so get ready for the vans... sorry rocket... but hey play both dont pick a side...

if they do that thats their choice cause they will need food eventually... and most of my occupation ideas dont start on the coast and the only 1 that does is the civilian so i just explained to you that you obviously didnt read shiz of what i posted...

ok for 1 non of my occupations start with food soo if you want to not search for food and water and die go ahead cause the rest of us will get food and stuff...

Ok with my idea each occupation starts in a different area if you read it youd knwo already... only the civilian starts at shore and he starts with no guns... and killing someone for ammo woulndt be worth it cause by the time one of you was killed they would have no ammo or very little and the same would go for you... I'm just saying give us guns so bandits arent gods and give us guns so zombies wont kill us in 10 seconds... dear god this forum isnt helping me at all... what is with you people? I prefer not having a gun making me god... and I don't want it to just go back to the way it was cause its not like there are just civilians on this planet... there a soldiers and cop.... fire fighters and medics....

So your saying you would rather not start with a gun die by zombies or get shot and killed by someone with a gun cause they wanted ur beans... you would want no way to defend yourself... so you play this game to die?... all you want to do is die?... I'm not giving you a full loadout... read... 2 guns aint much and 4 clips conting the one already loaded for each gun aint much either... and my idea is the only way to balance it out again but not make it the same again... when a person gets a gun with this new patch where u dont start with a gun you are basically god... and if a bandit gets a gun he will go on a killing rampage... he and his buddies will have free reign to kill everyone... if you want bandits to be gods then go ahead and die... or listen to me and maybe get some defence back...

Think about it... if you were a soldier you would probably have a gun of some sort... and if you actually start with guns like the way I'm trying to do it no one will istantly think "Oh I must be the only guy with a gun for like 30 miles so I'm going to kill you and take your stuff cause you have no way to defend yourself... atleast with my idea bandits wont be able to kill you as easily and might back off knowing you have a gun... plus a bandit may not kill you cause you may have bloodpacks depending on your occupation... a bandit will now more likely not kill you and ask what you are first... giving you a chance to pop em and live... you win they loose and all I see in that is a good idea/ a win... and I take back the thing about only doctors able to use blood packs and pilots being the only ones to fix vehicles... theres a point when it becomes to realistic and not very fun to play...

None of them spawn with food and only the civilian has water at the start... and each one wouldn't have more then 3 clips to just get them started... thats not much when you think about it... and most of my occupation ideas don't start with guns and a hatchet isnt good for much if you don't want to get hit by a walker or a survivor and die... think about it... 3 clips won't get anyone far if they are willing to use it on every walker they see... they will still have to search for food, water and ammo... so no my idea would not ruin the game just make it easier to start... and M4A3 CCO and SVD ammo is pretty rare so they wouldn't want to waste it unless it was nessesary... Like some bandit was going to kill them then they would need to use it...

I'm all for realism but there is a point when it becomes to realistic... I'm only being real with what I said for classes.... its not like when your a soldier you'll have just a pistol... I guess they should give more back to the civilian... and what should i change about my classes then?... I don't see anything... the weapons balance out and with my idea and the guy befores idea it would be pretty realistic... call him... Pilot/Engineer--This occupation starts off close to a helicopter with all the needed to make it fly, as well as a Glock 17. Pilot/Engineer Trait--Is the only occupation that can repair vehichles. Paramedic--This occupation starts off close to a hospital and spawns with 2 bandages, 2 painkillers, 2 epi-pens, 1morphine auto injector, and 1antibiotics. Paramedic Trait--Is the only occupation that can fix broken bones.

Ok I'm wondering what classes are ok then... and if you look at the DayZ weapon comparison chart witch is very accurate you will notice that the SVD is in fact not as good as you think... in all the important areas like power, body shots to kill, and noise, it is the same as almost all the other sniper rifles... and for the soldiers main gun the M4A3 CCO its the same in those areas for most of the assault rifles... so its pretty balanced... and there are sniper rifles in every farm and if your dumb enough to be in the open when you know theres a sniper then your gonna be shot... and there will be bandits no matter what... giving them a sniper rifle at start won't make a big difference... just play it safe and live in the forest... and most bandits are around towns witch farms are not... and your never know he may be friendly and having some long range defence would be good...

After looking at some DayZ weapon comparison tables on the wiki I have decided to redefine my former idea making it easier to understand and easier to hopefully implement into the game... Tell me what you guys think... It seems like the most likely form of classes to appear in DayZ... I think it will cut down player killing becuase everyone will have something to gain from making a team, since every survivor you could run into may give you and your possible alliance an advantage... Lets say you really needed some blood but you didn't have any... You come across a paramedic nice enough to give you some blood... You win and if your not a dick and kill him after he helps you, he could also win by getting a favor in return for his help or by creating an allaince... Everyone could win with my new idea... I hope DayZ becomes more about survival as 1 and not war against everyone... Civilian--This occupation starts off at the shore and spawns with a flash light, and a water bottle, to help them start their journey for survival. SWAT Team Member--This occupation starts off close to a police station and spawns with an MP5A5, and an M9. Fire Fighter--This occupation starts off close to a fire station and spawns with a hatchet, and instead of a Coyote Patrol Pack the fire fighter starts with an Assault Pack, and also has supplies for 1 fire. Paramedic--This occupation starts off close to a hospital and spawns with 2 bandages, 2 painkillers, 2 epi-pens, 1morphine auto injector, and 1antibiotics. Soldier--This occupation starts off close to an airfield and spawns with an empty canteen, an M4A3 CCO, and a Glock 17. Special Forces Soldier--This occupation starts off close to a farm and spawns with a ghillie suit, night vision goggles, an SVD CAMO, and an M9 SD. Pilot--This occupation starts off close to a helicopter with all the needed to make it fly, as well as a Glock 17.

Possible Player Skin Additions - Already in Arma2: CO

This is a copy and past from what I contacted the team about... tell me what you guys think cause this may be a better idea then just adding skins (no offense). Player killing may go down so we can all hope my master plan makes a mark is the DAY Z world... also tell me if their should be more occupations or changes to the ones I already put up... also put pics of how you think they should look... the future of DAY Z is no only in the hands of the makers but also in the hands of the players. :) While pondering about a way to stop or minimize player killing in DAY Z that I came up with is to have new skins/occupations... you know when you pick male or female... put another thing after were you pick occupation, such as police officer... now each occupation has a slight difference then the rest of the occupations... I'll start off with the Police Officer/Local Armed Forces- Spawn with the original revolver instead of pistol, but he is de-faulty more detectable because of his blue gear Fire Fighter- Spawn with the next best backpack, giving them the option to carry more things at the start- what's a few more beans gonna hurt? you die so fast it's just more loot for the looter and only a slight advantage... Paramedic- Spawn with (as many bloods as you want), and (as many pain pills as you want)(I recommend 1 blood and 1 pain so they aren't to advantaged), but start out with a few less bloods... who do you give blood to is your choice... you might make more friends if you play your blood right... Military- Spawn with the choice of a rifle or shotgun depending on which they clicked for...(you could work that in)... and take slightly longer before food and water need be consumed...(doesn't have to be really long just maybe 15 minutes more so they don't have a big advantage over anyone else) Special Forces- Spawn with they choice of a sniper rifle or... night vision goggles...(see in day or night its your choice)... they do not spawn with a flash light unlike everyone else so its their pick... and they also come with a gillie suit as well as a black SAS uniform... Pilot- Spawn with all the parts needed to get a helicopter to fly...(not look good just make it fly)... but their backpack can only be used to carry vehicle parts and nothing else, therefore they have a disadvantage... and the backpack carries all the parts so you'll need to add extra spaces to the backpack so it can fit all of the parts... Civilian- Default everything, nothing to change about the civilian other then maybe add a few more looks... The reason all this stuff would be good is because it makes sense... if your a cop you'll have a better gun am I right? if your a fire fighter you carry a big thing on your back all day. and if your military you have bigger guns, would you not?... and it will cut back on player killing making it more about survival and zombies... everyone will have something to gain from teaming up instead of just killing people for supplies... you could put this on forum and do a vote or something but I think you should add this stuff...
