Had the same problem, mine was related to trying to equip the camo suit though. Was playing with a friend who was unaffected so don't think it was a hacker. First check if the option stays viable for a second before greying out, if not then I had to swim to the coast (landed on a blank piece of land, looked like i was completely off the map) even when i was on land i thought the respawn option was gone but it was appearing for a brief moment then greying out. All came down to timing to manage to reload my character. I feel for ya bro, I was fully stocked with equipment and stoked that i'd found a camo suit :( won't be going near the camo suits again. (or ladders for that matter)

It's not the speed of ladders that annoys me, it's the fall to the ground, break every bone, lay unconscious and bleed out til death bit that annoys me. Zombies and other players don't scare me, but those ladders. My last 3 deaths have been because I glitched at the top of a ladder and fell to my death. (No I haven't accidentally hit 'drop'). Until they fix them i'm only using the stairs. (even those can kill you, open stairs in castle anyone?)

Ladders should just be completely avoided at all costs. I've just tried to climb a ladder only for the character to glitch at the top, fall to the ground unconscious and bleed out. Until they fix the ladders i'm a stairs only guy...

Just had the same bug, found a camo suit in cherno and when i went to equip it i was teleported to the middle of the ocean, unable to respawn. I finally made it to land but there was no trees etc. looked like i'd spawned somewhere completely off the map. I ended up having to hit esc. then quickly hit respawn before the option was grayed out. It only happened to me and no one else on the server
