Ok well i've changed everything to what you all ahve suggested, including the extra launch parameters, and it SEEMS to be a little better. I say this because i dont think it was quite as stuttery in a village on a 60 man server. I'm not entirely sure which bit did it, but i think it's as good as it's gonna get lol xD I think a new system is the only proper solution. Thanks to everyone who helped!

Ok well i changed my video settings to what you suggested earlier, even with 1280x720 resolution, and it wasnt much better. I must say that it is basically smooth when running through woodland, but whenever i get into cities, or zoom down the sights, it stutters really annoyingly. Thank you very much for all this help - i will try the new parameters and .cfg alterations when i can, but i gotta go now - i'll let you know what happens when i try them. Thanks again!

For dayz i'm using these: -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -mod=@dayz -world=empty -winxp but nothing for wasteland. Oh and also, i was told to change some lines in some config files to GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1; i still have them set to that.

Ok thanks very much i'll try this now. By the way, should i reset all of the stuff on the nvidia control panel and the launch parameters? or would that not matter too much?

Ahh right so it WAS my computer after all. I was assuming it was something else because i can run other games such as BF3 fine. I will try the resolution change - i've been playing on 1920x1080 resolution, but the FPS doesn't change at all whether i play on Very High or Very Low settings. I'll try the new resolution but i think it may be time for a new pc! Thanks very much for the info guys; you saved me a lot of confusion and frustration!

Hi there, I've been getting annoyingly low FPS while playing this game - it was ok a while ago, but then i started playing DayZ recently, and it was annoyingly low, and then when I played Wasteland again, it is still really bad. Now it seems acceptable when i'm in the country side, but not good enough when i see someone - i zoom in to aim, but the fps is too low for me to aim properly, so i end up missing or getting shot before i can see them through my sights. I've tried many, many different methods of improving my FPS, but none seem to work - they have improved other things, like the visibility in game, but not the FPS. I started late July last year. I was a complete n00b at the game - I had had ARMA II for a few years but never really played it, so i wasn't accustomed to anything in it. I spawned at Kamenka and, not knowing the map at all, decided to run west! This took me right to the edge of the map, so i decided to run north a bit. And at that point, I spotted a van in the woods. Because i was so new, i didn't know how rare anything was, so i thought it wasn't uncommon to find a van in the woods. When i got to the van, there were tents around it, and 2 busses. The van had broken wheels, but when i looked inside it, I found basically everything: ghillies, AS50s, M4A1 CCO SDs, and many other rare guns. As i said earlier, i didn't know how good or rare any of this gear was, so i just grabbed a ghille, an M4A1 CCO SD without any ammo, a map and a compass, then jumped in one of the busses and drove back to kamenka, where i got out, ready to shoot some zombies, then realised i didn't have any ammo. Thinking that i'd just find some more in a building somewhere, i didn't go back, but dropped the M4A1 on the ground, left the bus, and decided to head into the nearby fields. For the next few hours, i just aimlessly ran around the fields in a ghillie without a gun, trying to find out where i was. From there on, it gets a bit hazy so i can't remember, but i do remember telling my friend (who got me into DayZ in the first place) about what I had done. It was quite funny, as i didn't understand how rare everything was, so i just casually told him how i'd found a van, 2 busses, a ghillie, etc etc, and he was just like "...... WHHHHAAAT? AND YOU JUST LEFT IT?!!". Even more hilarious, i found the camp etc within about 10 mins of my first gameplay. Beginners luck, right?! Good times, eh? ;D

OK scrap that last post - i did the whole process again, but this time launched with the Beta file and NOT sixlauncher, and everything worked fine and i can play again! Thanks a lot!

Ok well this is quite worrying. I did what Rustledmyjimmies said first, and when that didn't work, went onto follow BelMarduk's instructions, which didn't work either. It still says that my version is 1.62.100697 on the main menu, and won't let me join. I thought that this may be because i am launching it through six launcher, so i launched the beta patch file (copied out of the beta folder) itself, and that also said that my version was 1.62.100697. This is pretty worrying, as the file that was created when i installed the 1.62.101334 says that my version is 1.62.100697 Any other ideas? Thanks a lot.

Hi there, Earlier today, i was playing on my Hive server, and all was good. However, when see it on the server list now, it says it requires version 1.62.101334, and claims that i only have version 1.62. I look on the main menu, and it says i have version 1.62.100697. Ok so after seeing this, i went to the Arma II Beta Patch site (http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php) and downloaded the version it said was required. It installed fine apparently, but when i go into the game, it still says on the main menu that my version is 1.62.100697, and i still cannot join my hive server. I even went back to the site and download the most recent beta patch (1.62.101480), but to no avail. Please could someone help me! I always seem to encounter problems when dealing with these simple feats. P.S. Please don't suggest getting DayZ Commander - i have tried numerous times, but it refuses to install on my computer. I have been trying for about 3 hours this afternoon. Thanks
