Did your friend patch Arma2/OA to latest "OFFICIAL VERSION", no just beta version. Arma patches are not cumulative and will require a few steps. Hm, vram looks ok in config file. Try to disable areo theme just as a test. Right click desktop, click on personalize, under basic & high contrast themes select windows 7 basic. Aslo try manual fan control in CCC, maybe gpu running warm/hot. If you have more than 1 monitor, unplug them before starting arma.

Possilbe game is not recognizing you gpu, thus the need to tweak configuration file.

Hold "left shift" then press numpad minus (-) release both buttons same time. Then type flush Be sure its numpad minus. The - next to your 0 button doesnt work. You will not see a command line so be sure to spell correctly. This will flush your graphics card memory while in game. If this temp. fix helps, than try changing video memory settings in game options. Default seems to give least problems.

1: US 7 files correct 2: I dont have steam version, but should be the same location for MPMissionCache. Have you played an ArmA2 mp game yet?. Maybe try joining some random vanilla MP game, maybe will create MPMissionCache file.

Try deleting MPMissionCache in user/AppData/Local/Arma2OA/MPMissioinCache. Than delete @Dayz folder & download all files on this sites download section. Make sure to check latest verion of Dayz before you join as it gets updated regulary.
