    Are they taking away Bandits?

How does getting rid of bandit skins make the game easier? It makes it a hundred times harder because now you don't have a convenient way of discriminating who a bandit is. People who used to shoot bandits on sight now have no convenient way of feeling safe. ANYONE could be a bandit, and not just a newbie bandit. The only thing this does is make it easier for bandits who don't need to convince someone they're friendly despite the skin. It makes it a hundred times harder for survivors.
  2. I don't have an opinion on this either way, I just want to say that after five minutes of research, I found out that being cold does not have any effect on getting a cold. I still like the idea, and this is the only reasonable implementation, I just want to let everyone know the facts. http://www.everydayhealth.com/cold-and-flu/colds-and-the-weather.aspx http://www.wisegeek.com/does-being-cold-cause-illness.htm
  3. I don't know if the engine supports this, but after reading the 'medic' thread and the bandit skin removal thread, I had a thought: have the different skins apply different stats. Examples might be a field medic skin where bandages work faster, or packs restore more blood, or a bandit skin would give you more pockets, or a military skin allows for faster reloads, or a mountain man skin has your hunger and thirst degrade more slowly, etc. And some skins might have humanity requirements, like you need negative humanity for a bandit skin that boosts reload speed, or positive 5000 for a medic skin, so bandits can't use medic skins to trick people and every survivor isn't running around with a bandit skin.
  4. I really have no idea how this stuff works, so I'm just tossing out random suggestions that might logically make sense. My brother's been looking into the game, too, so I'm interested in seeing what's up here. Maybe because one of you joining fills up the server and the other one is kicked out since the server is now full and since you both have the same IP, it doesn't reserve the slot or overload or something? Maybe try joining a half full server (Hard to find, I know) and seeing if it still gives the same problem? Or maybe one of you joins and then waits for a few moments before the other tries to join?
  5. As I was walking to Electro, I heard a gunshot in a barn, so I went to check it out. I was low on medicine, so seeing he was alone, I shot him. I went to loot him, and when I saw it was someone who just respawned, I felt a little bad. Fortunately, that tinge of regret was completely wiped away when I see him cussing up a storm on chat. "Killed me without warning," this and "Camping a-hole" that. You know, the usual. So thank you, random player, for not only helping me not regret killing you, but actually making me want to kill survivors more for handling the situation so immaturely. (And yes, I know that's a pretty immature reaction to his reaction, too.) As a matter of fact, I was in the process of considering typing up an apology since I hadn't seen him disconnect to respawn yet, but before I could finish it, I saw exactly WHY he didn't disconnect. Stay classy, everyone!

    Bandits...you have my Thanks

They're not removing PvP, just the bandit skin.

    Flashlight + pistol symbiosis

The headlamp idea is pretty neat. You could make it go in the NVG slot (If that would work. I know literally nothing about coding mods or videogames in general) since those are so rare.

    They see me rolling...

The enfield has started to grow on me, I just wish it wasn't so loud that it attracts zombies from the next town over.

    Lying in side channel?

I'm not saying anything is wrong with it, I just don't do it since it makes all the other players want to kill you even more than they normally do. I think it's legitimate and people who blindly trust are going to die one way or another. I was just curious what other bandits thought and did since I don't talk a whole heck of a lot in game.
  10. Yesterday, I saw a bandit lie in the side channel, saying he was friendly and asking for bandages, and then when someone came to help the next thing I saw was that he died and started cussing up a storm. After that, a though occurred: after a week or so of playing, that was the first time I've ever seen a bandit lie on the side channel. What do the rest of the bandits think of this? I personally don't lie on the side channel because that's a good way to get people angry at you, and angry people are more likely to shoot on sight, but I was curious if this was a common occurrence or if bandits didn't normally lie as a code of honor, or for the reason I use, or just because they don't like giving away their position. Any thoughts?
  11. Yeah, I've been playing for a while and that's exactly WHY I don't want a forced universal change. Imagine if you were playing STALKER and then halfway through, you suddenly have a PIP boy and the inventory system works like Fallout. You'd probably die a lot those first few hours getting used to the system, right? Only you can't quicksave in Day Z, and there's no offline mode to learn the new interface. The only issue I have at all with the gear UI is how the backpack works some times, and I don't think it's worth overhauling the whole system to fix what minor problems exist. Also, I think you're exaggerating a great deal in your analogy. It's closer to a light switch that turns your livingroom and dining room lights on, and then you need to walk back to the dining room to turn its light back off.

Humanity - and a way to make it useful

I think an NPC survivor would do more harm than good. Shooting the wrong zombie, or shooting at all, or even if he just strays a teensy bit to the right of where you want him, a hundred zombies are now after you. It might be a good incentive, but I don't think it should be the ONLY incentive. Also, I didn't realize they were definitely getting rid of bandit skins, I thought that was just a maybe, my mistake.
  13. I really think the current UI is the best. Anything else would leave waaaay too much room for error when a second flubbing around to figure out which weapon you have equipped means certain death. Lists would make everything horrible, keep it graphical I say. That said, I know some people prefer lists. Would it be possible to make a third party mod to change the UI and make it usable in every server?

    Winchester OP?

About half ammo and a longer reload would definitely make it more balanced. And I'm not saying that balance is needed, I'm saying that it gets a little samey when 80% of players have the winchester, 10% have the CZ, 9% have the higher tier weapons, and you can tell the last percent has never played before because they're using the crossbow or enfield. It's certainly not a huge issue, and I won't stop playing because of it, I was just wondering if anyone else felt the same.
