Having found and repaired a pickup truck, I was cruising across the flat grasslands of western Chernarus when I noticed a hulk of metal on the landscape that didn't belong there. After closing some distance and checking the area for snipers, I pulled up to the chopper crash and got out of the car. All the zombies spawn in, so I get back in the car and run them all over. While looting the chopper, I find an AS50 underneath the small rotor of the chopper. I have been playing this game for months. I have found in excess of 20 chopper crashes, dozens of DMRs and FALs and all kinds of goodies. But, this is the first time I have found a 'legit' AS50. Now, I have carried around an AS50 multiple times. They are easy to get. Look through the woods for tents, look for camp coords in the bandit forum, look for snipers over major cities and take their guns, etc. I also was in a larger clan for a short while and they provided me with an AS50 whenever I wanted one. But this, this was different. No one scripted this in. No one hacked this in via duping or anything else. All the other AS50s that I have found were simply that. An AS50. If I am traveling with a partner, I might say something like "Hey, pull an AS50 out of the truck." If I got killed, whatever, it was just another AS50. This time around, it is not an AS50. It is MY AS50, a distinction that hackers/cheaters/dupers will never understand. Granted, I will die eventually and my stuff will be taken from me. Until that time, I have the distinction of carrying around the most powerful weapon in the game and truly feeling a sense of accomplishment every time I pull it out of my pack. Ye who play the game legit, I salute you. tl;dr Finding legit weapons is more satisfying.

Perhaps my sarcasm was a little too harsh, but come now. You are suggesting a reward for playing a game, for free, before it is released to the public. That in itself is already a reward.

I'm guessing he will give you months of free entertainment via a free mod that you can download prior to the standalone.

That rifle has enough drawbacks that it seems fair. Loud, useless in close quarters, limited effective range. Once duping is fixed in standalone, I don't think it will be an issue.

Wow, these guys had some good gear. They must be hackers and cheaters. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to raid more chopper crashes and stockpile some more NVGs, GPSs and high end military rifles.

I can't really pick a single favorite, but I can narrow it down to my favorite handful: M4A1 CCO SD: Fully automatic, excellent scope, works with night vision, silent. Best zed clearing weapon, hands down. M16A4 ACOG: One burst is enough to drop pretty much any target, extremely long range, will not aggro zombies if loaded with SD rounds. My favorite all purpose rifle for PVP since it can be used for combat at any range other than point blank. DMR: The night time sniper. Excellent range, excellent damage, decent accuracy, adjustable zoom. M14 AIM: Basically a DMR for closer ranges. AS50: Who needs skill when you have a rifle that kills in one shot and does all the aiming for you? CZ550: Holding this gun makes you the boss. Not a boss. THE boss. EDIT - Oh, and obviously the L85 for the thermal sights. That thing is OP for spotters.

That's about as hardcore as game development gets. Where is the button to give beans to Bohemia?

CNSF is a great clan, but I left it due to work schedule problems. They were always conducting the raids while I was at work. I just play with a handful of friends now, and we have a our own little band of merry men out in the woods.

I've been there several times, and I've never met another person there. I have found the remains of people's camps though. In one server, every single entrance was blocked off by sandbags and barbed wire except for the front door. There were 30 or so tents inside... and every one was empty. Creepy as crap. I did get my leg broken there by a zombie once and crawled all the way to the NWAF. :D

I'm just about the nicest player you will find in game. Shooting him was the right call.

There is a delay when you make changes to your inventory before it saves to the hive; this is the same delay that dupers have been exploiting since day one. Just wait a minute or two before logging out to make sure your inventory updates correctly.

And this is the difference for me. My preferred payoff is seeing other people enjoy the game more. I may start a profile named Devil or something and go total psycho/bandit on a lingor server just to see how it feels, but the concept doesn't really appeal to me. EDIT: Yeah, I changed my avatar during the "Girls who play DayZ" topic, where it was implied that I'm a forum white knight. If the shoe fits, then hey, I'll get a suit of armor and horse to match. It's the sensible thing to do. Sure, go right ahead.

Don't start pointless flame wars on an internet forum and then lump yourself in with the rest of us. My merry band of do-gooders has about 80% of the guns available in the game (We do not have M107, M24, Mk 48, M16A2 ACOG; I think we have everything else). If you don't like yours, tell me what you want and I'll have one of our guys drive over there and trade you one.

Oh, wow. Wasn't expecting so much beans. Thanks guys, glad you liked the story. ^_^ After searching for a decent, stable server with functioning vehicles (that are actually on the map instead of outside it) and no hacker incidents (so far), I'd really rather not announce it on the forums now that I've finally found one. It would be filled within the day and my hard earned camp, along with my pickup, my UAZ, and my ATV, would likely be destroyed. My skype is in my profile, and my policy is the more, the merrier. Just don't pull anything funny, you may get shot :D Can't say I really blame you, but I refuse to become that which I have been fighting against.
