I think I posted about this once before. I have over 10k humanity on the public hive. I played on a private hive server a few days ago and set out to begin my do-gooding. Run into first guy. "Friendly?" He shoots at me, so I kill him. Next guy. "Friendly?" He shoots at me, so I kill him. I am now a bandit. Next guy. "Friendly?" He shoots at me, and I manage to knock him unconscious. Bandage him and bloodbag him. He wakes up while I am patching him up and says "sorry I panicked when I saw the bandit skin." Sigh.....

(hacker free version!!!!11!!1! lol who am I kidding) Add some depth to the zombies, similar to left 4 dead. Not exactly the same of course, because tongue grappling zombies wouldn't fit in this game too well. However, giving them other abilities, such as the ability to grab onto your character and slow you down until you get it off of you. Or, give zombie groups the ability to dogpile on top of lone survivors and beat the living tar out of them. Basically, make the zombies dangerous enough that traveling alone would be suicide. Also, roaming zombie hordes out in the woods. Right now I can start my autorun macro and walk away knowing there are no zombies between me and my destination (to be fair, even if there WERE zombies, I could just let my char autorun past them anyway - hence my first point).

I watched that show simply because I like this game. My profile name is now Daryl Dixon and I only use a crossbow.

This and this. Hopefully, standalone will have the option to crank up the difficulty of zombies to the point where nonPVP servers could actually be entertaining. Left 4 Dead style zombie hordes chasing parties of 15+ players? Yes please.

Although, being in the western US, finding a server with decent ping for everyone involved might be difficult. You probably already know this based on our previous thread histories, but for the record: I kill only in self defense.

Temporary solution: launch the game through DayZ Commander on any server, then leave that server and go to the one you actually want through the in game lobby.

Play on a private hive, start fresh.
