Good shout, when my group started in DayZ we chose the Kamenka area for our camps, then headed more northwards when we matured into restoring vehicles (not quite Goba but we've found plenty there too :)

He just finds the stupid shit he does self-amusing, and thinks that because his threads get a lot of views that he's some kind of DayZ/Youtube superstar. I keep coming back to them because I find the sheer trainwreck of peoples disgust at his actions actually boosting his ego highly fucking entertaining. (even more so by the fact I'm sure he'll take that as a compliment)

Why would you even want to show people this? I don't have anything against screwing over other players for your own survival, but this is just pathetic. You didn't even check to see if the gun had ammo before stealing it, and when he caught you, you Alt-F4? Fucking weak, man.

Unless you were there and know exactly what happened, STFU. Reporting the time and place of a hack is what this forum is for.

I agree this game is pretty much only for Hardcore gamers, but I think that's why people are attracted to it. The unrelenting, unforgiving nature of the mod has become almost legendary within the gaming community, and is actually drawing people in as opposed to putting them off. Especially in a market where videogames are becoming increasingly softer, with too much hand-holding.

I give you my beans for not Alt-f4'ing, and honestly? I would actually give beans to the hacker too. I don't ever condone scripting in this game, but he displays a level of maturity and intelligent "trolling" that actually makes the game a more fun experience. He didn't use anything to overpower you, he wasn't interested in grief-killing, it was pure psychological warfare, and it was beautiful.

Pissing away ammo from a hacked in weapon, and you can't shoot for shit either, even on a zed 3m away. GTFO hacker.

I was in cherno apartment buildings after hitting the hospital for supplies, and I spot an unarmed player crawling in towards the hospital. For a bit of fun I start gathering up empty tin cans, and start tossing them off the balcony towards him. Not directly at him, because I know they can kill people and I only wanted to have some fun with him, and after like 3 cans, he just alt-f4's on me. Goddamn bitches.

As if we didn't have enough to worry about already, it seems the latest script in the hackers toolbox allows them to spawn AI controlled bots that lay prone and wait for anybody to come into firing range before shooting them, like sentry gun turrets disguised as survivors. While playing on a server with only 2 other people this morning, I saw 6 female "survivors" all laying prone around the NE Fire Station in Elektro, slowly turning their heads from side to side. Getting fairly creeped out by this, I start taking them out with my DMR from a range of about 400. They don't move, even as I'm taking their fellow sisters down. As they die I keep an eye on my kills. It doesn't change. So I move in to Study the corpses. Player names "Unknown" and they were all carrying G36 Holo SD's, which is a non-DayZ weapon. I haven't heard of this happening before, so figured it was a new hack and that I'd give you all the heads up.

Yesterday I was browsing the forums and came across the Wasteland Medic thread in the Survivor Camp subforum, and had a quick read through the OP. Upon seeing a name I recognized in the list of Whitelisted medics (someone who plays quite often on the same server as me, at usually the same times), I contacted him on Steam with the intent to just say hi, and maybe offer the aid of my well-geared survivor group, but as we got chatting, he tells me that his medic camp was recently raided by bandits, and that he had lost his vehicles that he used as ambulances and was about to give up on this server and start again somewhere fresh. As he was describing it, it all sounded a little too familiar. The UAZ filled with guns and meds that our group liberated from a camp just the day before had turned out to be his. I took a quick vote from whoever in my group was online at the time, and we all agreed to give it back to him. So anyway, after a couple hours of drama, including a hacker stealing my groups chopper and a long corpse run for me, I finally get to deliver the medic's ambulance back to him, with a few extra items inside for goodwill. I spend a lot of my time anti-sniping noob snipers on the coast, but this was totally different, felt like I was really contributing to something better.

The GreenWookiees were Strider77, Asyana, and myself (Archangel). We were there to ensure everything went smoothly in such a hostile and contested area by providing overwatch and combat support. The real hero here I believe was Sya, the medic who put the team together and got this done. It was a great rescue, and I think we were all glad to be a part of it!

It was just fortunate I saw your name listed in here and remembered seeing you online a lot on our server. We're trying to establish a good reputation as a source of trust there, so hopefully remedying our mistake goes some way of starting that process. No such thing. Lingor is a map made by an Arma 2 community member and modded into DayZ by another community member here. Rocket hasn't given his approval of the map or even spoken of it yet. Nothing that can be done.

Forest fires appear when a heli crashes in them, but it's more of a graphics glitch than an actual wide-spread fire.

My guess is, the chopper belonged to the admin, and his butt was hurt when you stole it, so he restarted the server to try and force the chopper back to it's previously saved location. Just a guess, could be totally wrong, but there's been tons of stories around of this very thing happening.
