I have also been getting extreme desync with red broken chain every once in a while... seems to happen on every server even though my ping usually stays below 100.

I'm in favor of a completely uncensored DayZ experience. All you cry babies can like...not read notes if it offends you so much lol.

1 minute log off timer please, people log off in high traffic areas way too easily. Any combat or bullets landing in a certain radius should extend that timer as well. Unless you're on a coastal city or any other highly populated areas this won't be a problem for most people. I have spent hours without seeing a single person and some people here are acting like they will be killed instantly while logging off. Go in the woods to log off, like I already do, if you're all so scared of losing your stuff.

What are your thoughts on people against KO punching?
vladiman replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
The only thing that I think should be changed is when punching someone wearing a helmet or armor you should have a chance to hurt your hand or even break it. It's not really realistic to be able to punch through armor :P -
Combat Logging is a huge issue, even from the mod.
vladiman replied to Exodus302478's topic in General Discussion
Lol, combat logging basically is cheating and Rocket stated that he is going to fix it. Nothing you say is going to change that. So boo hoo, you won't be able to be a pussy and log out when you and your squad are about to get slaughtered anymore. -

It's called making sure the area you're logging off in is safe. Too many people log off in highly populated areas with complete safety, that needs to change. Go into the forest and log off in a bush, no one will find you before you log off unless they were stalking you. Imo, the log off timer should be around like 30-60 seconds, and any gun fire or combat in a certain radius around your character should extend that timer. -
Playing this game as an FPS is the worst.
vladiman replied to scaramoosh's topic in General Discussion
I've been playing on 1st person only servers lately and I honestly like it better than 3rd person. 3rd person to me is really cheap and kind of cheating since you can peak over walls and around corners with complete safety and can see stuff without having an actual LOS. -
The unOFFICIAL bandit skin discussion thread: POST HERE
vladiman replied to ArrThePirate's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think instead of punishing people for killing survivors you should reward people more for working together. By making other people useful to you besides as a bag of loot to steal than people might be more likely to not shoot on sight and maybe work together or something. Like have more things require more than one person, like more dangerous zombies or certain place that require another person to get to like high ledges or maintaining a base or something. Also when better communication gets implemented, like direct chat only, people will be less likely to shoot on sight cause right now you gotta run away from them and type in "FRIENDLY?" in side chat and in the mean time they can just shoot you and some people don't even talk to you so you just shoot them. -

What do you want to see in 1.5.9 ?
vladiman replied to Marcuss95's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Here are some things I would like to see in upcoming updates. Make people stay in the game 30 seconds to 1 minute upon disconnecting to stop people from dcing when they are in trouble from zombies or players. Also make bodies stay on the server with loot after the person DCs, I have had bodies with some pretty good loot disappear before my eyes. Maybe have them stay for an hour or so? And also direct chat only but that won't be possible till they patch ARMA 2 itself to fix the problems with it. Also some fixes to zombies would be nice, like the ability to lose them and not have them chase you forever. Fix the zig zagging and glitchiness. Either that or make them slower and give you more damage. Player stamina, so people can't sprint everywhere forever. Make it based on how much weight people are carrying. Choose skins/ clothing and have them affect your temperature drop rate and stamina Better zombie spawns, lots more zombies in cities less in small villages. Ability to clear out towns and have zombies spawn on the outskirts and migrate towards the center. Random zombies in forest and countryside. Have loot effected by player population in certain areas. More players in a region = less, worse loot. Less populated regions= more, better loot. This would make people move around more in search of supplies not just sit in Cherno and Electro. Also have more zombies spawn in areas with more players to simulate zombies being attracted to humans. Those last two will make it easier for lone wolfers to move around and avoid zombies and get some good loot, but having more zombies in cities will make it harder for lone wolfers to pull off raids as they could easily get over run making groups more necessary to get the better loot. -
It's already been suggested. But I think they should have this, it would be cool to leave notes for people to see. You should be able to leave notes anywhere you want and also keep notes on you in case you die for people to see.

I don't see what's wrong with this idea it would add to immersion and realism. It would also be funny to kill someone when they're taking a piss break :P It would only take like maybe 15 seconds to pee and maybe a few minutes to poop. And only have to go after a certain amount of time after you eat food. You could also look for excrement to see if anyone has been in the area recently. I know this sounds silly but it is a part of life and survival.

TOP 5 Things that should be Tweaked.
vladiman replied to sephirotic (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
On the part about players logging out and logging back in later, I agree that their character should remain in game for a while, I think a few minutes would be good and force people to find a safe place to log off, but I disagree with spawning back at your tent. I think people should just spawn at the edge of the town they were in when they login again, or exactly where they were if they were out in the wilderness. This would also prevent people from spawning inside buildings and surprising people who are camping or just looting. -
This would be useful for pulling a wounded buddy away from a firefight or into a building away from zombies if you also allow this on wounded people

I'm going to have to disagree with being able to have a regional chat. I think there should be only direct comms. But I think people should be able to get walkie talkies or radios to communicate over long distances, I think that would be better and be more realistic and still allow people to group up from different areas. And you could set different frequencys so people can't see your chat and you don't get flooded with stuff that doesn't apply to you.

I think zombies should move at a walking pace but deal a large amount of damage and bleeding plus a high chance for being infected with the zombie virus. Players then should turn into a npc zombie after a certain amount of time based on how much they got bitten. There should also be a cure or at least something to slow the infection, but make it super rare. Also maybe head shots only or a insane amount of damage in the torso.

Currently in the game zombies spawn in the cities they are in and don't move outside of them at all and it is impossible to clear a town or city because the zombies will just respawn there after an amount of time. What I am suggesting is that zombies spawn somewhere else besides the towns, such as the edge of the map or major cities, and migrate around to different places. This would make it possible to clear towns and hold them and allow zombies to appear in places outside towns like roads , fields, and forests. Zombies should be attracted to concentrations of players by the noise they make and their smell maybe. So large groupings of people such as in Electro and Cheno would attract the most zombies and make that place unlivable for humans, and as people moved out into the countryside the zombies would follow. As with animals, predators often migrate around with their prey not just sit in one spot hoping for food to come. This would make zombies more "nomadic". It would also allow for players to set up "zombie free" zones in theory, but these places would be under constant threat of zombie hoards attracted to the players. It would also encourage people to move away from the coast and inland. But I'm not sure if the game can handle tracking the zombies migrate. I guess it could just track where the hoard is and just spawn zombies when a player comes nearby.

Post your best "how I outwitted those darn bandits" stories!
vladiman replied to archival's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I met this one bandit in this barn in some random village. We were both pointing our makarovs at each other. I was ready to kill this bandit scum but he typed in chat "Wanna Team Up?" I thought he might be trying to get me to lower my gun and kill me so I was cautious but I saluted him and he didn't kill me. We then set off to a nearby village and got some loot, I got a sniper rifle and he got a normal rifle and we kind of bonded. But then when we got to another town some random survivor opened fire on us and wounded me, and as I layed on the ground I noticed that he had lost his bandit skin and had become a survivor once again. He had redemed himself. The guy that shot me ran away and luckily I wasn't badly hurt so we continued on but then he lost connection to the server and I never saw him again :( And we had bonded and I saw him as a friend, I didn't care if he had killed others I'm sure it was in self defense. But these server problems ended it. :( The moral of the story is, don't judge someone on how they look. Bandits could just be people who killed someone in self defense, not all are cold blooded killers. :D
