Thanks everyone for thier help, i see it varies a lot depending on play style/amount of others im playing with, etc. This has certainly given me some better ideas for gear managment. Rollonio was right i meant sidearm ammo. Even then i suppose having 8 on me it a bit too much considering i don't fire it all that often and im currently using the M1911 which is pretty plentiful ammowise esp given the interchangibility of .45 ammo. I'll try out the 4 ammo & 4 bandage split and see how that works out for me. Looks like i'll have a few more steaks in the main, i hadn't thought about having enough to get over the passing out threshold. Make some room by dropping some STANAGs into the pack. Really the main reason i have still 3 bloodbags is i just recently raided a hopsital & hospital roof but i gave 2 to my friend. (i had 5) so I'll ditch 1 maybe 2. as for the 2 canteens and a soda i'll drink the soda first if i have one and keep my canteens for those times when im in the middle of nowhere and really thirsty. or just by a lake and ill drink and refill to stay hydrated, and save a soda.

How do you know if a vehilce is repaired before you get into it? I thought you had to get in before you got those stats. *edit: words got all jangeled up

i've been playing of relatively low population servers as well (typically under 20) and it works out so that there is still the risk of players/bandits killing you but seems to minimize hacker threat. i only had 2 hacking run-ins, 1 thunderdome experience and once fall into a crowd of gun toting crazies. i wouldnt call it easy mode but it does lessen risk

i just recently made it passed day zero as well. its a good feeling! getting some medical supplys before heading north for a bit as i have never been up there. good luck

go around the other side so you are looking at the spine of the animal instead of the underside/stomach. i was having trouble collecting as well but everytime i went around to the other side it worked right away for me. hope this works for you guys too.

is there any other way to tell than log in time? i had cooked some meat ate it and helaed up to 12k blood then logged out. next time i came in i was back down in the 9k area of blood and had all the meat but it was still raw, like i had never cooked or ate it. would this be an example of a slow saving server?

Until recently i hadnt lost anything major. But during a blurry eyed, low blood, night, solo food run into Electro i was witness to a shootout outside the grocery store. let them fight it out, as the last guy was looting the corpses i came aroung the corner and popped him with my winchester. i ended up with the best gun i have had to date, an AKS-74 Kobra. And 6 mags to boot. and this is a big deal for me as its the first player i have intentionally killed. (may esien colombus rest in peace, i tried to save you but shot you instead) After that excitement dies down i still need food and blood in a bad way. walk into another building maybe 20 minutes later after much searching of the town and there is a double barrel shotgun on the ground. misclicking of the mousewheel puts that in my hands with no ammo instead of what i was feeling so fresh with just seconds before. and its gone. the AKS is gone. nowhere to be found, no mags on the ground, just gone. sad times. sad time. so i learned to be careful with that damn mouse wheel, and hit G to open up my inventory any time i need to. ever.

Hi everyone, I've just started playing and ahve logged maybe 10 hours or thereabouts so far and i have a question about how to communicate with other players in game. / brings up the chat bar but mine says Group Chat. Is there a difference between Group Chat/Direct Chat? I searched about "chat" and some posts said there is no more global chat on any servers, is that true? Also holding Caps Lock lets me use the mic to talk to people from what i gather. People have to be within 80m to hear you and 40m to see text chat whihc i again found from the same search but i just would like it if someone can verify that. I'm trying to figure this stuff out before my life really depends on it. I was asking a friendly survior to give me a blood bag for about 5 mins in a medic tent before they did anything and they never typed back to me. so i dont know if they even saw what i said or if they were trying to talk back to me or anything. Any help/clarification is greatly appreciated.
