At least he tried to help the guy, you're only acting like a douche and not contributing to the thread at all.

Open up OA, single player, editor, put a unit on the map and preview. If you can't get 3rd person here, it's your key binding. If it does work, try reinstalling DayZ. Make sure you're on the same server as your friend(s) that get 3rd person when testing.

Rcon Messages not showing up in game
rekrul replied to lawlessbaron's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I think you should try the server forum as there are more server admins there that are more capable of helping you out.At least they have experience with BEC which few people here has. -
What was the different error you got? Are you sure the server you've been playing on, haven't changed to a different dayz mod?
-
Wtf? I AM trying to help you, like I've helped a bunch of others. The solution has always been to run Steam as admin, launch A2, quit, launch OA, quit, launch Dayz through Six or Dayz Commander. If you wanna be picky about who helps you, that's your prerogative but I'm done.

Error Arma 2 has encountered a problem and needs to close
rekrul replied to Cdiggyblue's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Try opening OA, join a server and see if the same thing happens there. If not, uninstall Dayz and reinstall it. If it does crash there as well, follow these instructions: http://forums.bistud...e-crash-Do-this You might also get some hints from the rpt file. I suggest deleting the file first, then get a crash and check it afterwards. -
What he meant to say was "Run Steam as Administrator". You know, like it says in the sticky....

Files are not signed by a key!!! Please help
rekrul replied to bozo97's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Run Steam as admin. Verify and run Arma2 and Operation Arrowhead. Try again. -
You failed to look at the stickys though. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/97180-the-complete-thread-about-serialcd-key-problems/

And some proof that it was a hacker as well...

To people who got their keys stolen and / or DLed hacks

I should also add that youtube videos that offer "FPS fix" or "Performance booster", etc does the same thing. -

So you've been Global Banned: An Informercial.
rekrul replied to Rage VG's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree. I enjoy going in there and reading all the post of the banned hackers. Those who rage are the best. -
Joining servers make my internet connection go down
rekrul replied to NightmareP69's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
This is probably your router. I've written more detailed about it here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/31307-internet-crashing-on-connect-or-shortly-after/#entry961901. -
BS! You can't "backtrack" a CD-key from the GUID.
-
I'm quite skeptical to this as well, but I'm guessing it's possible in theory through some buffer overflow stunts or breaking out of the Arma2 process.
-
The ban id is first part of your GUID. I wouldn't point to the SP mod as a culprit quite yet but if you did run some hacks in SP and then had those hacks running when you joined a BE-enabled server - you're done for.
-
If I remember correctly Arma2 requires the Ammo Truck to reload that ammo. Since that vehicle isn't included in Dayz, there's not a whole lot you can do. Edit: apart from waiting on a server restart as mentioned earlier.

There's a sticky to help you with the bad serial thing and also loss of CD-key. You could contact BIS and they might show you some mercy. If nothing else they can kill the CD-key so noone profits from the theft.
-
Are you sure it's not counting the same players multiple times? BIS should have access to info on number of games sold when and I'm sure they have some statistics on their auth server.

''Bad serial number given in setup''
rekrul replied to SlimShady (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
It's obviously our fault then. -
Globally Banned yet never done anything wrong
rekrul replied to Keenhail's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Seems to me that you know you had your key stolen and then someone got it banned. You need to buy a new one or just wait for the standalone. -
The complete thread about serial/cd-key problems
rekrul replied to rekrul's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
It's how Steam handles things and the reason why I don't use it. You need admin-rights to write the cd-key to registry. Search this forum and there should be plenty of threads that can help you with the details. Or try starting a thread. People seldom check the stickys. -
"Bad serial key in setup" (different)
rekrul replied to zachlive's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I never use Steam so I can't really help you here, but in worst case it looks like you need to reinstall the game. You should double-check that you've done things exactly as explained in the sticky first though, it might save you some time. -
The complete thread about serial/cd-key problems
rekrul replied to rekrul's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Is this steam version or what? Try running Steam as admin and verify Operation Arrowhead and run OA as admin. AFAIK you need to do this so Steam can enter the CD-key into register. It might have been deleted during the update process. If it's not through Steam, reinstall OA which should prompt you for your CD-key and then check. Then update through DayZ commander and check OA again. Did you update through DayZ Commander and DL DayZ Commander from the official Dayz Commander site? If not your CD-key might have been stolen. I'd suggest verifying that you have the cd-key installed/registered and if you get the same error-message, contact BIS as instructed in the 1st post.
