We found 2 virus's, four trojans*

I have securaty software. Thing is, my grandfarther (He worked in IT dealing with this sort of thing up till a couple of years ago) traced a virus back to steam. Which means It either came in through a patch or through DayZ (Not played anything else through steam in a month). Thank you for the input.

I have been thinking about what I want to do now that I "Know" the game. SO here is an idea Many new players find things much more difficult on the coast, as do new respawnee's. My idea was to find a hatchback or some other kind of Car, then help newbies by transporting them further in-land to an area of their choice. If you think this is a good idea, give it beans. If I get enough I will re-write this with more detail and a table of proceedures. EDIT: I have deicded to do this as soon as I fix my main computer. Virus T_T

Play better. If you want to cheat, im sure there is a way to do it. However, you are now on my list, so you can expect to see that black/white screen more often.

I will have a friend of mine running securaty on the car. Stary is a bad place to take people, I have seen a lot of players there.

I was thinking more along the lines of players asking to be picked up via PM, then I can go collect them and drive them where they need to go. Give them a leg up. As for being shot at, I generaly have a strict "Raise your weapon at me and I shoot you" policy for dealing with strangers. I was picked up and taken up north my my current group. I have been playing for a week and I am running about with my clans bus, a tent, a range-finder, FN FAL, M4A3 CCO, M1911, Food and water to last a week (bus) and plenty of ammo.

I want an ATV. However, I cant be on to save it every few hours - is there any way I can ensure that it will not be deleted/moved by the server while im not around?

I. Am a noob. I. Am also a successful noob. You see, I heard about this mod from some people (Read: Tools) I know in real life. I went about with them, not really getting anywhere. I would roll into chernogorst, loot an alice pack and perhaps a makarov. It would usualy end there. However, I split from this group and went out into the big wide world on my own. This did not last long, for I found another group. These were people I had never met, who were looking for more people. I joined up and met up with them in elektrogorst. A hacker spawned in and, for lack of a better term; "Owned the fuck out of us" the next day. We changed tactics and started spliting into groups of 2-3 to loot. We would all hit the same general area, but would either hit multiple towns or multiple city districts simultainiously. For the last 4 days I have been running around with either an AKM or a M4A3 CCO, and a full toolbelt. We found a bus, and now base ourselves out of the forests up north. Story over, now for the facts: I survive, and thrive, because I found a group that suits my playstyle and needs. This is not for everyone. I know people who can live with a DMR and an ATV. The point is, the reason many new players fail is because they follow the "DayZ Playstyle" and not their own. Avoid chernogorst? I hit it every day*. Up north is safe? Ive been in more firefights around devils castle than I have in the citys. The moral of my story is: The advice of others is great, and you should heed it. However, you should always try your own ideas and plans first.

Usualy there are 4-7 of us so the fight is usualy won. We camp out at devils castle before raiding the airfields and such. Its a handy fall-back point.

I would say that you could run the game on low. Just guessing though, no math invovled.

Addition: Weapons should spawn frequenly in secure locations that require tools to loot.

Sorry, but its not the gun, its you. I can put a player down easily with a pistol, I have done so many times to save ammo.

AKM is easier to find mags for. The M4 is a better gun. I would pick the AKM out of preference. The M4 is probably better for you though.

I am not a bandit, and will never kill another player without reason. If they are really a risk to me, I just avoid them. I do not surport this addition, it will make the game easier and its too easy already.

I was running with a few guys I met from school IRL. I ran into trouble, broke my legs in chernogorst. The others were on a different server because of the bandits. I got "Sorry mate, cant risk it." I survived. Just.
