As the thread on the announcements has been closed... is the .5 patch due today with the Airfield and Cherno artifacts glitch fix included? I haven't been able to go on an airfield or run North in Cherno since patch .4 :( Thanks :)

Hehe np - I got what you meant :) Yeah as you can see from vid I posted in #1 its just awful. Ive died so many times by just falling off edges etc cos I cant see anything lol

Ok - Im about 3 weeks old now on DayZ and trust me its the best game ever once you find your way around and know how to play. Here's my Noob tips. 1) Always look to see where you spawn on the bottom right of your screen when you start a new life. You'll only see it once. 2) Find your location on the map. At least your rough location to your starting point. Here's a good one > http://dayzdb.com/map#2.068.077 3) Don't run the roads or train track, but at least follow their direction towards main towns for navigation. 4) When you get to a big city, Supermarkets are great for food & drink, Hospitals for Meds and Fire Stations & Churches for starter guns and ammo. Also houses and offices have average gear in but can also drop back packs. Hit barns for more stuff outside of major cities. Scout them out for a little while first and BE QUICK IN THERE. 5) Don't be worried about taking a long route around or scouting for a while for something if it means staying alive. It's about survival. Not everything needs to be a rush. 6) You can out run zombies by getting to a woods and zig zagging your running. Not ideal but it can be done. 7) More at night but > crouch and hold down shift to walk when near zombies. Stay on grass if you can to avoid making any sound and getting spotted. 8) Docks are your friends - zombies cant get on them, so its good to bandage etc 9) When you get a gun remember the sound not only attracts zombies but other players too. Everyone can hear your gun shot and the general direction. 10) DON'T TRUST ANYONE. 11) Stick with DayZ - its a totally awesome experience. They are what i've learnt myself in just under 3 weeks of play on and off. Hope it helps you. :)

Bought my managed setup 2 days ago and it was setup about 4 hours ago - since then I keep getting the exact same email - 3 times now and no reply since I posted a ticket about it. I completely agree. While your setup is clearly advanced, and respect to you for doing it, if one of your snipers in their suit spotted an unarmed guy running in their direction I am sure they wouldnt hesitate to down him/her. The OP suggests that, that would be being an 'asshole' but to me thats just wrong place at the wrong time. How would your guy know if he had a pistol in his pack or not?

You can't compare a bandit to an 'asshole' because if you take away their titles, they are both murderers what ever way you look at it. If I was a murderer in real life and I just killed old men, but spared old women... I am still an 'asshole' murderer.

My blood was very low, around 3.5k. I was just resting in the woods when this guy was shooting at me across a field in North Elek. I hit the ground for 5 minutes so he decided to run. I then chased him across the field and tracked him for another 5 minutes. I lost him briefly but then I saw him getting on the roof of the Elek power station. It was there that I trapped him like an Ant in a box and taught him a lesson... "never take your eye off the enemy"

Hi - my first PvP kill and I'm proud of this one lol Basically some guy was shooting noobs from the tower in Elek. Before that he was on the ground and shooting me with my hatchet in the medical tents... I ran off and watched him, he started climbing the tall tower overlooking the medic tents so... with just a hatchet and having never killed a player before I hit my fraps record button and just went for it.. Video below :D
