I love the whole 'Hunt, gut and cook', more wild life would be very nice. Never had a issue with low food supply my self though. I see people with bags full of ammo whereas one needs to balance it towards the journey planned, then you'll never fall a sleep on empty stomach. I think the timer on food is a little longer than water already but the facts are correct, food isn't nearly as important as water. All in all, not a major concern in my case.

It's a thought. Looking forward to what surprises we can run into in the future.

If it lacks in all games it sounds like a hassle to add in DayZ. I see nothing wrong with the idea but there are probably many other things that needs Rockets attention.

Bin the bandit :) I am still in favour for skins in the positive end of the humanity scale though. I would much rather be unaware of the baddies and acknowledge a legendary survivor. (If that would be any less of a headache to implement.

Felt the knockdown a few times and it is often a oneshot zombie attack, atleast if your alone. My latest rage moment was this morning; At the NW Airfield (alone), all thinkable survival supplies on me and full health. after 2 minutes of exploring, sneaky sneaky style, ONE military zombie knocks me down. The hourglass takes forever and when I finally awake i got less than 1000 blood, unable to stand and a endless cycle trying to equip the weapon. -short trip to the Airfield... and it wasn't even a player kill. Frustration level is extreme in such a case and I really want to blame the engine or the timer for being too long :(

What goals do you set for yourself?
orbital replied to flacracker's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So far I'm just exploring and enjoying that i came across the MOD this early and see it (hopefully) evolve into a great addictive MOD. Other goals include: Personal mapping of lucrative places other than the obvious airfield and such. Finding a pair of NVG's Finding people to trust and get some group experience Probably some sort of PK hunting - if the bandit uniform stays -
PK, PvP and how to encourage ppl to work in goups.

A bandit is the only form of identification of a murderer/PK’er since we only have one level of ‘bad guy’. I do welcome the bandit, they are the core source the the intensity of the MOD. Bandits do face ‘the ultimate risk’ when engaging a group of players. That is where the griefer differs! He doesn’t care, he dies, run back to town and continue killing with no interest in exploring the MOD to the fullest. -
I love coop servers, can be so relaxing and fun to grab phat gear and vehicles and clear towns or whatever the objective might be. I don’t have anything against the request BUT, a coop DayZ server would unfortunately ruin the whole concept of the MOD! My prayers goes towards a workable solution to keep us all interested in the full package.

One change that could make this mod soooo mcuh better

I actually like that, coastline swarming with zombies and players where mainland beeing more deserted. Gives you a choice. Big cities is a magnet for action. Remember; Hospitals and apparment buildings. -

If your in a group, that is your greatest defence, a player that engages you or your mates risk facing the ultimate sacrifice himself: death I know it doesn't include the famous griefer but hopefully the MOD evolves into a state that doesnt attract too many of them. Neither does it include the lone sniper that can wipe out the entire team, he is a part of the game though, all you can do against him is react and adapt. -

My guess would be that it calculates your time offline when you log into a server, then removing food and water from your inventory matching a resting state of some kind, but I'm not sure. -

Fiddling with weapon damage seems like a wrong solution to me, ARMA damage model works fine and it would be a shame to change it. A shootout is quick and brutal, that is awesome. I do hope we’ll see some tools to encourage cooperation and a decrease in player griefing, but bullets ARE lethal. -

Make the painkiller item a pack of 10, like flares. On the subject; I agree that EU servers need to rethink the 3rd person option, alot of people appreciate that feature. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=426 has the 3rd person debate going.

Some zombies in the woods/up north.
orbital replied to Outsider (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like the mentality of living "safely" in the forests and having to venture into dangerous territory (Towns) to resupply. A few stragglers in the forests would however add something interesting; A survivor having to shoot one or two Zed’s would sound off hes position to other survivors, good and bad :) -
Well, you can keep the bandit uniform if you like, fine with me. Makes it even easier to spot the good and the bad. I just thought it removes the chance of cooporative gameplay with strangers since most people would shoot you on sight.

I think player killing is going to become a even bigger plague, the more servers, the more impatient griefers will gain access. The suggestion it's defiantly a helping hand to us who take the survival bit serious and a tool to aid finding people to group with - which is very much needed. Take my case as an example: I play alone, moving deep into the land requires effort (hours), I am not even going to try contacting other players. Meeting another survivor for grouping/trading purposes, get shot in the face and reset back to beach is currently not a option on that stage of survival (hours) for me. I don't care about loosing gear and dying, that's how it is (contradiction I know). My game is all single player at the moment, with no tools to group with strangers. I don't care about bandits uniforms, I avoid players all together, now if there was a way to recognize the lesser psychopathic survivors I would be more curious to contact them.

PvP and Humanity system seems to work fine in my opinion. I think the solution is rewards instead of penalty (read my suggestion post) http://www.dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=477

Kind of what the in game chat is always full of; "Are you friendly" But how to proof it? Maybe the Legendary Uniform needs to be a little higher on the humanity scale, to be a true Legend. Actually, the more levels/uniforms, the better :)
