Honestly it is a little fail that the bookmarks on the map is shared across all maps - now that everybody is talking reality and stuff - funny it hasn't been brought up before. That being said, I am aware that we are all on the same team for cooperative gameplay to work so there probably isn't any way around bookmark sharing. A map that contains bookmarks could potentially be more valuable than any other item in the game if lost (carrier dying) - if bookmark sharing didn't exist.

It is not comparable to the big players on the MMO market, for that there is a long way to go and the ARMA engine isn't suitable. I have no problem with paying monthly fees (WoW, EvE, SWTOR), I even went as far as to pay for gear in APB Reloaded. Any kind of entertainment has a price and that's fine. In DayZ's case I would point towards the Minecraft model, pay a one time fee to get registered in the database and get access to login. If the success continues growing like we're seeing now, that model should be sufficient to cover a small teams expenses.

Believe me I tried, crawling, crouching, running, stepping over. Was one of the wooden houses with a small entrance leading to one room with a table in the middle of the room. The hidden room is beside the entrance/hallway. Sat there and got knocked over by a Zed outside, thru the wall. It's all good, incredibly enough the frustrations were far less many other situations. Just a shame cause I did have phat loot on me :cool: Edit: Hats off the the quick reply time, thank you.

Clever workaround Gooseman! I would enjoy such a feature. For the coding and general sustainability I'm just happy that isn't my headache :P I hope it catches Rocket's interest. -
It is a item that motivates grouping with other players, I like that. When I roam the fields solo, animal hunting basically eliminates my need for bloodbags.

I think it all sounds a little silly. On the other hand I can see a potential in it! I can't recall any game where you need to 'relief' your self, probably something to do with aesthetics (or some fancy word). Such an implementation could be a unique feature and create a lot of attention in the whole gaming community.

odd way of playing the game, sounds to me your in the category of griefing, sitting in one of the starter towns with lots of survivors and just killing for you own entertainment. Now, have you claimed that you were protecting a vehicle or a mountain top it would have been a different cause of action. OT: Fly sounds is perfect, your listening to a potential treasure.

You do still risk the vehicle disappear on server restart. We found a Jeep last night on the middle of the road with no gas and broken gas tank. Went out and found a gas tank and jerry can in the town 500m away (a lucky evening) only to have a server restart for 1.5.4. The Jeep, and 2 broken ATV in the town vanished. -

I wish you the best of luck. For me that is where the MOD shines, head away from the high populated areas and take it from there. You'll probably get killed soon (sorry to say) but you learn so much more by trekking the whole map. Trial and error makes you a better survivor. After a ruthless murder or a simple mistake, respawn and grab whatever you can without spending too much time in the first town. You can navigate and survive with almost nothing and work your way froward from that in quieter places.

I've had some really awesome encounters the last few days, meeting other players is such a adrenalin rush and I love it. I actually think the map offers a lot of different game plays, whether you stick to the large cities, airfields, woods or small towns. I die once or twice a day and it always hurts, but I keep coming back for more. My approach is to blitz through one of the large towns, grab the essentials and then sprint to the woods, my game doesn't really start before then. If you get too frustrated OR feel that you've played through every aspect, you DO have the option of letting the game rest a few days. Chances are you'll be hungering for another try very soon, it's just that intense.

Vehicles can be a excellent base for supplies (seen in game already), if timed random spawns is 'easily' implemented, another option could be a convoy and slain soldiers in random towns.

It is indeed strange, sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't. Looking forward to a stable direct chat, it will do sooo much for the MOD!

I can't see many occasions where I would use the restraint option. That doesn't mean that I don't support it but a shot to the head is a really effective option towards a uncooperative individual. Getting up close to restrain will require a optimal scenario, and that will be rare, hence it will not change much in player killings.

There is a lot of awesome maps in ARMA and some probably very suitable for DayZ. I would imaging adding Zed's, equipment, spawnpoints and then scripting it all to work, requires significant effort. For now, Rockets priorities should lie in fine tuning the general functionality of the MOD it self.

Found a M240 tonight (My buddy did), 1500m from a sick storage we passed, containing 10 boxes of ammo I believe. I can not get into details on locations but I shit you not, ammo to last for days!
