mizzy (DayZ)

This is just a short story from when I was looting a lowly populated, US server. I decided that I like this server due to its low population (for the time that I paly on). Due to my Australian time, it means that when I get home and feel like playing DayZ, I can join this server and be guarenteed for it to be night time, which makes it ideal for me, as I have NVG's and also am in search of a Ghillie Suit. My original journey at this time started at Guglovo. From Guglovo, I wanted to make my away around all the major cities and get to the Western Side of the map. On my journey, of which, seemed to pass relatively fast, I was actually much closer to towns than I actually realised. I passed by Novy Sobor, and seemed to be rather far away, however, passing around the side of Novy, and then managing to be next to the main road that leads its way into Stary seemed to be rather beneficial. As I was following this road, wearing my NVG's, I noticed to my right hand side (where the military tents are at Stary), a big bright light, I stop and investigate this area, as it shouldn't be that bright over there, so I thought.. As I zoom in, my textures start popping out of the screen, due to this shitty bug. However, that didn't stop me from looking. Locating me a couple more meters to the left didn't do me any harm, I managed to find a conveniently placed bush for perfect cover in this night, and it also helped a little with the texture bugs. While lying there scoped in with my DMR, which works with NVG's, I notice a zombie agro to the right of the medical tents, and a player bolting around the side of the hill, I hold my fire, I definitely don't want to be taken out after several days of hard looting. I wait a while, looking at the last known area from where I saw the player. After checking the area for about 2 minutes, I unzoom, and realise another fucking bright light in the middle of the field. To my convenience, I notice two people running towards the middle of the flare (dumb arses!) I assume the two players were going down to pick up the flare, or they were on teamspeak discussing where they would head to next. After seeing them sit in the open paddock for about 5 seconds, I decide to take the shot. The crack from my DMR breaks the silence of night, my heart makes it way to my throat, and I start shitting myself. I notice one of the guys carrying a Light Machine Gun of some sort (I assumed MK48) I send my first shot, I notice a flash off the side of this guy's body, I wait to see if he goes down. I wait a little longer, thinking that the server has desynced. Not satisfied that the server is lagging, I send another shot, which surely enough smacks my poor victim in the head, he goes down, leading my murder count to 1. Quickly, I change target to his friend, I send my next bullet his way, and headshot. I noticed about 5 minutes after this shootout that I had only 1 murder, and the other body was not anywhere to be seen. Sitting at my computer thinking "You fucking bastard disconnected from me!," I was still way too scared he might respawn and prevent me from looting his mate. My mate logs on to Steam and I tell him my story, he gets pumped up and comes from Guglovo to loot this guy. After about 15 minutes of observing this rotting body in the middle of the field, I decide to crawl up the hill and loot this guy.. Thankyou, sir, for your Coyote Backpack, your Silenced M9 (no ammo), and some of your supplies, including a bear trap and a tent. I lost my ALICE pack due to the gay "Dropping the backpack causes it to disappear" bug.

Date/Time: Date: 29/07/2012 Time: Around 10:30 - 10:50 What happened: While climbing down a ladder at the school in Vybor, I was kicked from the server due to High ping, upon my connection back to another server, I was placed in the room directly below the ladder, on the ground floor, although, the room is one that is not enter-able normally, so I am stuck in a room that can't be opened. Earlier today: 30/07/2012 at about 5:30 - 6:00, I attempted to "dive" out the invisible walls I am surrounded by, and while attempting, my leg broke (which had not happened previously when I had tried to get out of them room) The room I am stuck in is on the ground level, next to the cement staircase that leads to the second floor (around the middle of the building) Where you were: Vybor, at the School.
