Wow, two thirds of the posts arguing a point having no bearing on the OP. :rolleyes: Maybe, just maybe it had nothing to do with the weapon he had VS range VS the alignment of the planets blah blah blah. Maybe he doesn't PK if he doesn't have to. There are some of us out there...

Ahhh, but taking the new backpack is also a bit of a trick. When your cursor changes to the rifle indicating you are looking at something you can pick up, instead of pressing G click your middle mouse button (mousewheel) and the lightly scroll your mousewheel. This should bring up a menu on the left of your screen that will allow you to pick up the new backpack. Took me about ten minutes to figure that out...

Newbie still figuring things out. My 5th or so spawn I start just west of Komarovo. Immediately go prone, switch to 3rd person and toggle to walk as default. Crawl forward and take a look around. First thing I see off to my right towards town is a player riding a bicycle kiting a handful of zeds. He just rides around with them chasing him. I make my way north into the trees and turn and watch and he just lazily cycles about the town agroing zombies and kiting them about. Silly perhaps but it was kinda cool...

My problem hasn't been finding weapons. Food is another thing altogether. Only played a couple of days so far, having an absolute BLAST, by the way. Been staying out of the two big death zones and trying to forage the smaller areas. Usually find a weapon fairly fast but haven't been able to find enough food (or the full hunter/gatherer kit) to keep from having to do something reckless which then gets me killed. Need more practice dodging zeds...
