As I stated, this would require an entire caloric system added to the game to balance it out; which is not what you suggested. A caloric system would add realism but would dictate a survivor's life entirely on food and eating, and at that point the more entertaining and exciting points of the game are lost. If I want to balance a diet and watch caloric intake I'll do that for my real self. -

Refresh the idea. Add some discussion to it. You may not be aware of this, but when you reply to something it gets moved to the top of the forum so people see it and it isn't dead anymore. And some of those threads aren't exactly what you talked about. But they still relate, and the idea can still be applied to them. (And to be fair, those were the very first results I found, had I gone through the 5 pages I'm sure I could have found more similar for you). I like that you have added thought and depth to it. It's more than most people do. But you don't need a new topic to add depth and thought to a suggestion.

I'm hardly convinced it's doable to an extent where you would get something even resembling a steak out of it. I would agree with whoever said you could do this, but only get one piece of meat out of it. I'm fully aware of what calories and carbohydrates are. However, I'm also fully aware that the there is no mention of them in the game. Unless you are thinking about adding an entire caloric system into the game, the energy a can of soda would be hardly noticeable in any way. Absolutely a system should be implemented basing your needs off of weight and activity. However, like I said before, the game has to at some point sacrifice realism for playability. Rocket has stated himself that he doesn't like saying realism in terms of DayZ, but authenticity instead. No game can ever come close to the realism everyone wants it to without it becoming unplayable. DayZ has come the closest, and if things like a not-quite-realistic needs system are implemented, I'm okay with that because I trust that it is to better the player's experience. Who said it does? -

-Have you ever tried to gut an animal? Not quite as easy as it sounds, it requires a bit more attention to detail than clicking on it. Using an axe (which isn't necessarily sharp because it utilizes gravity and weight more than the sharpness of the blade) would be pretty damn hard. -Why do you want 2 knives? I agree with using them as weapons though, even though they might not be effective. -What exactly is a minor energy burst going to give you? I for one don't feel like I can run faster when I drink a can of soda. I do think soda and water should have some differences in how they affect you, however. -Because a person can't live without water for 3 days if he is running constantly with a pack full of gear and a rifle. More than that, it adds more survival aspect to the game. If it took a full day of in-game time, I might need one soda can per life. Absolutely no challenge or threat to survival. Sometimes you have to sacrifice realism for playability. -Just a glitch... -I don't feel like researching that. Instead, I'll blindly agree with you. Sometimes things are more logical than you perceive them to be... -

Rocket has already said there will never be a currency in DayZ, and that it's up to the players to establish it. Yet it has still been suggested and rejected far too many times. -

Sounds fair. I've always been somewhat unsure about how you can suddenly obtain a M1911 mag from a couple of .45 ACP rounds. Something to add onto this would be the addition of empty magazines. For example, if you run out of FN FAL ammo, the mag doesn't disappear, but rather becomes an empty FN FAL mag which can be refilled with 7.62 rounds later. However, I don't know if I need more items to carry around, but if at some point the devs decide to add in stackable items this might be a useful addition to have. -

You don't need to say specifically that you are a teenager to get someone to team up with you. Act older than you are and people won't question your age. I'm 16 and I've teamed up with and helped many people; never once have they asked how old I am. -

True, but the FN FAL fires a 7.62 NATO round anyways. It is a Belgian rifle, after all. -

While there are non-Russian weapons in Russia, you would have a hard time finding the Lee Enfield there. Russia's military had no need for them, as they were British rifles, and though later designs of the rifle are occasionally used as hunting rifles after being discontinued by the British military most of them were sold in the US, Canada, and UK. The version in the game would be a damn rare find in a post-Soviet state. -
This is what I think night game play in DayZ should be like. I'd play it way more often.

Suggestions is rather vague term, isn't it? I don't look at it in the same way you do. I see it as the place for any new or WIP ideas that relate to the game, because I don't go looking in the private hive forum to find interesting suggestions. Now here's a suggestion: create more specific threads within the private hive forum, or have the private hive forum within a user created content forum. -

Seems like a good forum choice to me, I don't get why people are complaining about it so much. He's talking about implementing a suggestion for a survival based map. Any better forums for this? None that I'm aware of.
