Looking for a more strict server. Some place that is at least not filled with hackers. Went on a server last night and half of them either had TP scripts/ Ammo Crate Scripts or god mode. Sort of frustrating especially when a survival player that I am try to avoid contact with most players and just try to live away from cities and such then a hacker tp's behind you with some Arma II non-Dayz included weapon and lights you up.

My name is Chris (IGN: Lockbain), and I'm looking for a team oriented group of people to survive with. I live on the east coast and I don't mind hopping on any US server. I've been playing FPS/Combat simulators since 1992 and generally ranked top 80th percentile on my gaming systems. I'm a very team oriented player. On this game some players think, "A group? That's just another mouth to feed!". To me, it's, "A group? Better to get in and out of city's, and use players individual talents to thrive!". I find more tactical advantages playing in groups rather than solo. And since I just started playing I would like to make a group that's mature, proactive, tactical, and deadly (if needed). I have ventrilo, and I generally play 12:00am-5:00am EST time on the weekdays, and whenever on the weekends. Post here or PM me and I'd be happy to give my vent info for team-mates willing to play together!

I just bought the game this week to play with a few friends from work. First off, let me say; this game is scary. And I don't scare easily. So my first map I load up, I'm on the coast of god knows where (at night mind you). Here I am, not at all aware of the controls, standing there in pitch dark trying to find out how to use my damn flashlight. All around me, or so it seems, are dozens of zombies. Decidedly, I saw the tree-lines, and headed for them. Slowly crouching my way there I'm fiddling with my options with the flashlight. Suddenly I got stuck on a piece of hill desperately trying to figure out the numerous controls. Finally, my flashlight turns on! Now I am staring at a jagged piece of hill for less than 2 seconds and a sniper round kills me. That was my first funny experience. My second attempt I decided to traverse a day server. I figured why not? At least in the day I can get a handle on what's going on, or at least SEE what was happening. Needless to say, I much like everyone else around towns, found myself crawling everywhere I went. Petrified of a relentless zombie gourge. My friend and his cousin log on and we can finally figure out how to meet up. I ALT+Tab my way into seeing a explorer map of the game. Tabbing in and out, trying to make sure I'm not getting eaten alive or shot in the back. I finally find my position on the map by the surrounding landscape and landmarks, I tab in. Notice a lot of people are suddenly dying. Thinking that's one big city brawl, and since I'm out in the country, I have nothing to worry about. Tabbing back to the map just to make sure I have my coordinates, I confirmed my position, tabbed back into the game and I was teleported to a town, with a dozen or so unaware players, as shots fired from players unconfirmed. That's where I died; among a pile of teleported players in the middle of town. This game is crazy! -
I have a couple suggestions for you. I was tight on money for a while but I found spending money on a good computer/games will save me money in the long run. But at the time I did this, I was looking into iBuyPower computers on newegg. I found an open box sale on a well upgraded one for $600 (just the computer tower). So keep your eye on those kind of sales, make sure you have a working pair of headsets with a mic, keyboard/mouse, and a monitor (or at least a 720p tv) and you should be good. And Bender is right, laptops are too costly, and get moved around too much so you're probably going to brick your hard-drive a lot. Hope you get the game, man!
