Achieving hero skin isn't the most difficult task. Maintaining it is indeed harder, From what I've read; people log off quite fast after switching skin, it seems to be the trigger for not saving it. Try playing for a good 30+ minutes after achieving it and see what happens. After you do keep it after relogging, not KoS'ing and being friendly to survivors/bandits and fellow heroes it's a goal worth taking the risk. Night time is wonderful, much more anxiety when you're fearing if a player is nearby but you can't see him because he's in the dark. Try lighting a fire and sit around it with your mates or randoms, see how long you can last without caving in to the fear of unwanted presence :) Regards; ExtinctSquirrel

Even though you do see your location when you log in it sounds like a fun little game of people post their location and see who gets the location right the fastest. I'm up for it. P.s. Only a forrest shouldn't really count.. There should atleast be some kind of reference point.

Operation Nurture Bambi. This operation is explained in a few steps; - Play on a regular server - Find one of them bambi's scurrying around on the shore - Make sure they just started playing - Explain them the controls,physics of the game - Teach a bambi to fend for himself so he can live longer I've been playing months, over which I've learned a lot of the game mechanics, good places to go to, the community and movement. Experiencing so much has helped myself become an experienced player and I feel like I should give something to the community, a community that has helped make this mod grow big. In this case, for the new players, so they may stay longer and hopefully in their turn give something back. I will start my search for such a bambi starting today and looking to give him/her a jumpstart on his/her adventure, doing so with a different player each day for an ongoing two weeks (giving I'm available each evening) Hoping that more people feel this way and are willing to join the operation. Day 4&5: Found a bambi that had just started. I explained him the controls, the concept of the game, walked him through elektro and helped him to gear up to the best elektro had to offer at that time. Walked with him to stary and then to the NW airfield, all went without trouble. It took a good 2, 2.5hours so it wasn't rushed but there's a thing to DayZ.. I'd almost say you need to experience the life of a survivor/bandit for yourself.. It can hardly be taught in a relative timespan of 5h~. I'm going to have to say that I won't be looking for any bambi's on the coast but I'm willing to answer any question that anyone has that's dayz related. Regards; ExtinctSquirrel

Fraggle is right. Gathering, findibg and trading the items and vehicles is the most fun part. I usually limit my vehicle count to one, I always try to find a good off roader and live in it. Sometimes setting a tent up with some food and medical supplies. If you have a group and you have more vehicles than players within your group they should be blown up :) Good luck and have fun gathering supplies and getting those vehicles back! Update for Day 2; Nothing happened again.. time hasn't been on my side, I thought it was when I posted this thread though. This weekend will surely be more plentifull of time. Update for Day 3; Finally got into my Hero skin again. Turns out no one was able to give me a civilian clothing and I didn't really feel like suiciding.. The game, however, decided to give me a hand killing me upon logging in... Spawned in the debug plains and relogged, ended up on the beach, this has happened to me before so I was aware of what was going happen. Seeing as I had no gear what so ever I decided to ask some zombols kindly to kill me and so they did. After getting into my Hero skin again I was now upon the quest of retrieving my gear, which I did after some exercise across the map. Let the operation commence (tomorrow) Regards; ExtinctSquirrel

After many failed attempts on getting my hands on some civilian clothing the game decided to help me out a little. Upon logging my character died instantly, don't you just love that? Respawned in my ghillie, seeing as I had nothing, I asked some zombols kindly to off me and so they did. In a hero costume again, regained my gear.. All is well. Regards; ExtinctSquirrel.

Please check what server you've joined. Chances are you joined a private hive. Seperate from the main hive and thus a fresh character (it doesn't affect your 'main' character)

You can, however, set notes, they're different than waypoints. They won't show up ingame as to where you need to head There's no way of seeing how far they are from your current location They can be seen/read by everybody on the server that has an ingame map You can have multiple of these. Seeing the down sides I mentioned I wouldnt advise using these. However, if you visit the dayz database website, head over to their map, make an account you can set your notes there and only YOU can view these. Depending on the player population that would be my first thing to tell'm, that and basic enemy fire. Little update from Day 2; Was not able to find a civilian clothing, seeing as I like to be in my hero outfit when I teach them and run around in the city.
