For the standalone; please make the zombies a challenge

zombies/infected shouldnt be able to catch the player if the player is running... i imagine the player is more fit than the former, so why would the infected (also human) run faster? maybe have them not tire instead, and have the player tire so that you can still out run them but not for long. (they wouldnt even need to be very fast in this scenario) as tedious and pace-slowing as it would be, there definitely needs to be stamina... you simply can NOT call this game authentic in any way if a player can run forever... Edit: player fitness improvement over time, even a subtle one, is also a good incentive to not suicide/respawn. -

taking a shit seems like a strange choice compared to urinating to me... urinating since it is typically done more often diet permitting, but both would actually affect say, a sniper. who has to get up and piss and possibly give away his position or leave himself vulnerable to someone watching him and waiting for this inevitable bodily function that people MUST do. honestly you KNOW that sooner or later, someone is going to have to pee or shit... that is when they will be vulnerable... that is what you will wait for before you run up to them with a hatchet. ever heard of catching someone with their pants down!? why the hell does it seem so absurd to people to include this? it affects tactics more than people seem to credit it for. -
Did not see this suggested, which I find hard to believe and I apologize if it is and I just couldn't find it. Simply put, I believe that when a player recieves a gunshot wound, there should be a probability, (calculate it however you want, by caliber/distance/chance whatever) that a bullet will remain in your body as opposed to the fortunate through and throughs we are very familiar with. It need not be complicated, but removing the bullet would require another players assistance and possible some medical tools. failure to remove the bullet would lead to eventual fatal blood loss or infection, to go nicely with rockets new love for pathology. I think that the need for player to player interaction here is realistic and immersive. i think it would be a great addition, anyone else? on a side note! this i would assume is already being done for SA but a shot to the leg need not break it! if some kind of limping animation were added, also bleeding players leaving a blood trail for the attacker to pursue (and zombies? QQ) i think it would be a great addition to the authenticity.

to answer the points raised by sonic, i was just going for a simple mechanic, and not over-complicating it to the point where it becomes undesirable. to use your logic, the thought of picking up a random blood bag and having your buddy squish it into your body is laughably absurd as well.

you're right. if everyone is running around with a very high tier weapon, then we must logically assume that the local high tier weaponry has been looted already. changing the spawn rates like you said actually supports authenticty, as well as immersion. just dont let the spawn rate actually hit 0 and maybe dont actually have an increase occur (no higher than default spawn rate) because it will not take long for the default rate to populate the world. also to address 2 inevitable issues... 1. yes high grade weapons are mass produced and stockpiled. are they stockpiled in chernarsus by the thousands? i dont know but it isnt logical to assume that so probably not. 2. a team of players manages to loot/steal all the high grade weapons and now they are sitting on them all in their camp. well... good for them, they have earned their alpha spot. but now they are a target for other players of all factions. and all empires crumble eventually, so that is a temporary issue. (its actually immersive and awesome if you ask me) so... great suggestion i think!

lol its better to just take hackers lightly and try to laugh at how absurdly silly it is sometimes. it is how the mod is and its an integral part of the game for the time being whether anyone wants it to be or not. laugh it off is all anyone can really do. -

user-created alcohol is actually an awesome idea. not only would it have practical benefits like what you suggested, it would likely improve the social aspect of dayz vastly. ie. powerful groups get to party all night long! that said this would be so far down the list of priorities that we should all just pretend it was never suggested at all! -

the game should just go offline until a "stable"1.7.3 is released. give everyone a chance to cool it for awhile and stop breathing down the dev's necks lol.

yep! lots of barns and farmland but no horses anywhere! horses are a great idea, cars need to be suuuppperrr noisy and attract zeds like crazy. that alone would make the horse preferable in a lot of situations compared to cars, even if you have to feed, water, groom. spawn some lances around the map... you thought it was bad when a sniper took aim at you while you were running through that field! wait 'til you see that cavalry charge headed your way and its 800m of open plains around you! just kidding about the lance obviously, that would be hilariously inappropriate.

doesn't add anything? actually i think it adds several variations to blood types and a whole new dynamic to how blood transfusions (the only actual part of the game where one must rely on another by the way) are approached in this game... whether you meant offense or not, it offends all logic and reason that you would claim it adds nothing of note. by the way i personally think this is a good idea an obvious thing to add in the game, standalone probably though. -

I had a similar experience to that too. Saw a guy coming out of an apartment at cherno with some minor weapons he just found inside. No way he would see me and be able to engage from where I was, but I took the shot anyways. Felt bad about it since I didn't even try to talk to him but cherno is merciless by nature and I was under it's cruel and twisted spell! But I hear you on the "it's a game, you didn't ACTUALLY kill anyone" speech that one gives to oneself after an unnecessary murder. Unless you're a sociopath bandit, in which case I imagine you dance around the corpse and sing merry songs.
