Totally lost any faith I had in Rocket/dev team

Alphas are for fixing core, game-breaking bugs. I'm not sure where you idiots got the idea that alphas are for introducing features that break shit and ignoring/failing to fix previously broken shit. -

Hold on, let me paraphrase your post. There we go. That's better. -

I wouldn't be so annoyed if Rocket would stop getting sidetracked with adding new features. There are 573 open bugs on the bug tracker. Stop introducing new "features" that will probably break even more shit, and concentrate on fixing the current bugs. -

I like how "it's an alpha" is being used as an excuse to hastily release shitty, broken patches. The point of a patch is to fix a bug, not to break even more shit. -
Game got boring real quick without Side Chat

You can, but the servers will be delisted from the hive because modifying server files is against the rules. Rocket refuses to let server administrators run servers how they want to. -

Let's turn Day Z into an autism simulator. Who needs to communicate with other people? -

It's going to take a lot longer than 4 months to turn this alpha mod into an alpha release on a completely new engine. Why would it take so long to release on the Arma 2 engine? Gee, I don't know. Because the game is buggy as hell, the graphics and animations need a ton of work, and hackers are ruining everything? -

If Arma 3 wasn't explicitly mentioned, I don't know why people are assuming it will be on Arma 3. -

Where does it say it will be on the Arma 3 engine? -
Yo, we heard you like abusing respawning.

Spawning in debug plains and relogging doesn't automatically place you back on the coast. I tried it a half dozen times, all on different servers. I still respawned on the debug plains with the latest patch. -
It doesn't work 100% of the time. I tried relogging a half dozen times, all on different servers, and I was still placed in debug wilderness.

Any posts mentioning crying should be replaced with this: Nothing of value would be lost. -
Can we please try to come up with a consensus?

1. Hacking: Make server logs comprehensible; ban on teleportation players, mass-killing of the server, duping, etc. 2. Gameplay mechanics: Fix legs breaking from getting stuck in doors, walking into other players, jumping off a 1" high ledge, etc. 3. Lack of socialization: Add support for squads and spawning together; bring back side chat as a server variable & client toggle. 4. Balance: Make loot spawn rates much lower on low-population servers to prevent loot-whording; make military-grade weapons rarer. 5. Disconnecting and server hopping: Not sure how to fix this, other than it needs to be fixed? 6. Zombie AI: Fix zombies so they don't walk through walls and aggro from half a mile away. 7. Inventory system: Make it more intuitive and fix bugs where items delete themselves. In order of importance, from most important to least important. -

I played on a side chat server a few days ago. I was killed twice by griefers, but I still made a half dozen friends who didn't kill me. Side chat is unrealistic but it's a videogame and people like to socialize while playing videogames. Make side chat a server variable and end-user toggable. Server administrators can enable/disable side chat as they see fit and players who don't care about side chat but don't want to see the side chat messages and toggle it off, like in Battlefield 3.
