I don't tend to have the GPS up at all times anyways, more bothered by the debug monitor over my ear and eye thingy.

If putting something infront or behind your name to increase survival chances everyone is going to do it. Regardless however you can't see the name of people you shoot.

Bumping for more thoughts.

I'm sure you've all noticed those sounds, of the gate/fence and the twig snapping, making you nerveous at the start but now you probably ignore it. Also the endless ambience sounds of birds and crickets which is fun at first but tends to get annoying and monotone, atleast in my opinion. I can imagine when just playing Arma 2 these things won't form a problem, because who cares about birds and snapping twigs when you're ploughing your way to the country side in your Abrams tank or your humvee. However, in DayZ you spend countless hours wondering around through fields and forests where this does become annoying. And the snapping twigs/fence sound is misleading, since listning to your surroundings is alot more important in DayZ then in Arma. Which also brings me to another point of your own footsteps, maybe its just me, but when i have my headphones on with the sound on reasonably loud to listen to my surroundings, my own footsteps are to loud to have my headphones on when i'm sneaking through a house or whatever. Also when you're covering some ground and running some kilometers through some fields the sound of your footsteps is also rather loud. I'm not suggesting to lower the sound a player creates, rather reducing the volume of your own footsteps for yourself. The twig/fence sound should be removed in my opinion, it would be cool however is such sound effects were triggered by players opening a gate, or if doors would make a sound when opened or closed. As for birds and general ambience i would atleast like it if the frequency was reduced. And just to point it out, this is my opinion, this is how i feel about it. I don't expect everyone to agree with me or feel the same way about it. I would like to hear how you think about my thoughts and what you think about it yourself.

Exactly against who's thermal vision do you need protection from?
-
I dont think so, i've looked a few times and there really isn't anything i can change regarding ambience etc.

It would be fun however to have more types of zombies ingame, and some rare ones, rare creepy strong ones who wonder at random remote locations. Zombies that make you shit your pants when you see them

Found this truck repaired and fueled near the lighthouse at Cherno, also owned the V3S truck, however i play alone. The blue truck got stolen whilst i had to go for dinner and didnt park it safe enough, nearly crashed into shortly after when it came towards me on the same road whilst i was driving the V3S which was loaded with alot of car parts etc. I parked it in the woods north of the NW airfield but somehow they found it, and the blue truck was there aswell, but a sniper shot me so i lost both trucks and basicly everything else there.

Think it would make more sense to have the train be some AI thing that just drives itself along the tracks back and forth, making brief stops at several stations perhaps, just so you can travel from Kamenka to Elektro or Solnichniy or something

If they kill you they can do whatever they want, i can imagine they not wanting you to have your loot back.

Survivors start as horrible shots (Weapon familiarization)
Miragenz replied to Lukio (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Rather see some form of having to carry the weapon for x minutes rather then to have shot x rounds. However im fine without either of those things -
Could you reconsider having global chat? My argument inside.
Miragenz replied to vgtg's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I proposed the idea of walkie talkies or a radio of some sort even before global chat was removed, and now that it is removed its even more clear that we need such a thing. That global chat is removed makes sense on some levels, the reasons why have been mentioned already. But by adding walkie talkies (etc) you are still able to communicate with others in a more realistic manner. The fact that people dont always have radios because they die should also prevent some spam and people raging. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=3479 -
Though vehicles were supposed to be reset..
Miragenz replied to Rakkasan's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You set off on your motorbike - I assume that by then you realized they didnt get reset right? -
Not entirely sure if its the best in this topic, but seems fit. So moonlight, not going to argue about nighttime and wheter or not it should be changed etc. But yes, you have nights with and without moonlight, either its pitchblack or its quite possible to still see things and play at night without NVG etc. However, sometimes im playing in moonlight, and the moon is setting and it gets darker and darker, then when i reconnect the moon is back and i can see alot better again, whilst being able to see more isnt a bad thing, it seems that not everyone is dealing with the same kind of darkness. I don't know if its just me, or if its even remotely fixable, but its rather unfair when i see alot and the other guy is having a pitchblack night. Or vice versa.

I dont see why not, yeah, you probably won't see your neighbour with an MG on their truck, but if you look at the current rebel wars going on, they all mount weapons and whatnot on their vehicles, i would do that too if i was in such a situation

No competent player should die
Miragenz replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You will always die, unless you camp all day ofcourse. If you actively travel and enter buildings for loot, you will run into a different player at some point, and one of them will shoot you one day. -
Anyone else got some suggestions? or remarks?

Roaming zeds, Radios, camps, flashlight w/ pistols.
Miragenz replied to Reyn (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Made a thread about radios/walkie talkies a while ago. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=3479&page=7 You could leave your suggestion there aswell if you´d like. Flashlight-pistol would be really nice, usually the reason i use a G17 for the build-in flashlight. Otherwise there should be alternative flashlight methods, in reality you could attach the flashlight to your clothes somehow, and you have those flashlight headbands/helmet thingies aswell. Roaming Zombies- It would be more realistic, but i would be annoyed with it soon enough, and there already are zombies spawning in fields near little shacks and whatnot. When im outside a town i dont feel like sneaking towards the next town through forests and fields, its far enough as it is. Also you will barely ever spot those zombies in the woods. Camps- Seems like fun, but more of a luxery thing rather then a necessity. -
But its something many players want, and at the same time you can also benefit from this, so it doesnt give anyone an unfair advantage.
-
Everyone has access to the exploit, its upto you wether you use it or not, you know others will.
-
yeah i also read that actually, i guess the basic idea is the same. I don't know a whole lot of whats going to be possible regarding walkie talkies and whatever, but i think there are good possibilities

Weapon Personalization (maybe not what you're think)
Miragenz replied to ElemenoP's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I'm all up for more personalization and customizing, atleast so you can be abit more individual. However i would like to see this for skins first, rather then weapons. Nothing to fancy, just a few options of pants, shirts, hat and glasses. Theres already a fair amount of clothing in the game, if you could change the colour on that to make your character recognizable would be sweet. If you could tell your friend that you're wearing a red shirt with black pants and a cap for example. Only problem i can think of this is that everyone is going to want some green/black camo clothing. -
Sleeping in tents - Tent then becomes spawn point
Miragenz replied to Greenhound's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Not sure about a spawnpoint, seems like it contradicts the game, but tents could have some more value when it comes to night and sleeping, perhaps that would mean adding some form of exhaustion to the game, other then food and water where you need to rest in a certain way for a certain time.
