    Screen Fade

    Please? Anyone? it's really disruptive.

    Screen Fade

Sporatically, my screen will go completely black and slowly fade back to normal visibility. When this happens, I can still see all my status indicators and crosshair, but nothing else. It's the same effect that happens when you start a new life. I'm playing only on servers that are the same version as mine, and I'm completely up to date. Any suggestions?

    Place Makarov in Backpack?

Thanks for the help guys. Unfortunately, I just died... Hit by a zombie with my flashlight out, instantly knocked unconscious and bleeding. Cool shit, I'd just found an AK74 and 2 clips.
  4. Hey there, I'm currently in a server that's pitch black and raining. Is there any way I can place my Makarov in my backpack and have a flashlight in my hand? Whenever I try to use a flashlight it makes me drop my makarov on the ground.... Btw I have a Czech backpack with quite a bit of free space.

    Why this mod is failing

I would say part of the "end game" experience is risking your gear to help other people and explore the map. The game doesn't end when you get good gear. If that was the case you'd be finished with the mod as soon as you killed an established player. Be human, take risks, and if you die then you have something else to do.
  6. You know you've been playing too much DayZ when you can't watch Mythbusters without get a little uncomfortable seeing Jamie Hyneman. http://media.pcgamer.com/files/2012/06/40-dead-zed-590x368.jpg

    Random gear glitch

My buddy found a shotgun, which disappeared shortly after. He said anything he tried to put into his backpack would just vaporize itself..

    HELP need blood transfusion/advice

I find it fascinating that people blame CoD and BF3 for the amount of Banditry in this game. I've come to believe that the sheer amount of banditry is just people expressing their exploitative nature.. If, god forbid, something like this were to really happen I wouldn't be surprised if lone wolfing and banditry became common. Though it's immoral, it's a pretty decent way to survive.

    Excellent First Experience

You guys are great. I'm surprised Paul didn't open fire, although I was protecting him from a Zombie with my hatchet. When he went down he immediately asked for help instead of throwing accusations or just plain shooting.

    Weirdest moments

More of a glitch than something that happened in game, though it was still pretty neat. Shortly after spawning on the beach I was smacked by a zombie pretty bad, though I made it away and bandaged. I realized that my screen started doing something weird where it would fade completely to black and slowly work it's way back to normal. My friend said there's nothing that would make my screen do that in DayZ, though I came to the conclusion that maybe my character had a concussion or something. :D
  11. So I started my first life in DayZ yesterday evening with two other real-life friends a little scared of what may await me. While downloading Arma 2, I was browsing the New Player board and reading horror stories of players spending their first hour of the game constantly dying, having zombies spawning in their faces, and being unable to find any sort of weapon. I guess I may just be one of the lucky ones? Although it was night time, I managed to meet up with my friend relatively quickly on the shore. He had never played DayZ either, though it wasn't difficult to find eachother considering we had a friend with 2 or 3 lives of experience with us on Skype. As we walked the coast we came across another new player named Paul. Now, I know that banditry runs rampant in DayZ and I admit I was incredibly hesitant to trust Paul when he came running over to say hello (especially considering he didn't have a microphone), but we told him we planned to meet our other friend in Electro and he tagged along the whole way not saying a word. After evading some Zombies, bandaging a few wounds, we made our way into Electro. Almost immediately I found a Makarov and two clips. I turned to Paul and said, "Paul, I have a Makarov in my hands right now. See how I'm not shooting you? That means you can trust me." To my suprise Paul did indeed have a microphone, and it turns out he was on his first life as well. Without firing any rounds, Paul, my friend and I quickly met up with our more experienced buddy in Electro's church and proceeded to loot the surrounding area. Within 25 minutes my veteran friend had a Makarov, newfriend had a Lee Enfield (Dinnerbell) and Paul had a 12-gauge shotgun and a fully loaded Revolver. For the rest of our session we survived cooperatively, and to my surprise not once did our friend Paul show any signs of aggression. We shared the food and drinks we found, communicated well and evaded a few other survivors. There was a nasty bit where we saw a survivor get mauled to death by over 13 zombies while we were on a hill, after which we had to deal with the angry buggers. I did accidently break Paul's leg at one point with a Hatchet, though we had just looted a Hospital and we shared our medical supplies to get him back to full health. With the sun rising over Electro we said our goodbyes and I logged off with 11 zombie kills, a Makarov with 4 or 5 clips, a hatchet, Czech bag and a little faith in my fellow survivors. I know it's a really long post but I want new players to know not all first experiences with DayZ are incredibly negative. Just try to get some knowledge of how the game works before hand (such as how to evade zombies).

    More human features

I think having a key specifically set to hold in your fart is a little silly... Although I suppose adding some of the other human sounds couldn't hurt.

    how to kill my char

You could either post in Survivor HQ and try to have a Doctor come and bring you medical supplies... Or post about your cool new camo in the Bandit Campfire and have one of them kill you.
