    and that's why you shouldn't be jamming out to music in a chopper. i heard a few times what might have sounded like single gunshots, but i can't really tell with your music bumping. far away sniper shots can be pretty quiet and you can only hear a snap sometimes.

    lost a tent once by dropping it. lost my camo M24 bout 5 minutes after finding it when i tried to put it in my backpack. almost lost my life (almost died from hunger) when dayz decided to teleport me away from camp in gorka to cherno shore with my gear.

    i paid $30 for it originally, and enjoy it a lot. arma II seems pretty cool as well, but I haven't played it much outside of using the simulator to train for chopper flying - if i am ever lucky enough to find a chopper in dayz i don't want to blow that opportunity if you are skeptical still, you can wait. in the past few weeks the price has fluctuated a lot. amazon had it for $19.99 for combined ops for a while. during the steam sale combined ops went to $17.99 for a while.

    what would really be great would be some automated tool the dayZ team could develop to watch server side logs for the generic signature of the hacked spawns. they are pretty easy to detect since most of these nubs literally copy and paste the scripts from each other and aren't smart enough to write their own. that 'watchdog' could auto ban all those playerIDs sending their info to the hive.

    remember the X and Y axis in school? you read it just like that, a cartesian coordinate system. (horizontal offset, vertical offset)

    good lookin out. this is the best way to combat the copypasta script kids - detect and blacklist them. the vast majority of them won't be able to get around this.

    perhaps server side, but no need for it client side. although it would be nifty to have a 'report death as suspicious' button that would allow you to make a report if you thought you were killed by a hacker. this could trigger some saved logs by the server that the server owner might be interested in checking out, or maybe report it to hive, etc. of course, that would have to be balanced out against people who "cry wolf"

    i think the only thing wrong with them is that they are too fast. to really improve the mod we should: * decrease the severity of the zig zag they run. * decrease their speed * increase their numbers! * decrease their visual senses * add in Olfaction detection (smelling blood) * have them be really attracted to blood - blood bags could be cut open and splashed on empty cans to lure them away - could add bloody rags as another diversion tactic (toss them aside while running away) * mud would be a cool addition, cover yourself in mud to have them not so attracted by blood smell if you are bleeding, but increase risk of infection

    not likely. the bug existed in 1.7.2.3 i used to hit it often. restarting the client fixes it. the bug has been around for a while, but it is getting exposed a bit more in 1.7.2.4. i doubt he has any problems other than he's running an alpha stage mod that has bugs.

    you might have also just logged out during de-sync. if the hive is not updated, you are stuck. you only have what you have in the hive.

    parallels shouldn't be dreadfully slow, most modern hardware provides virtualization support out of box. but i'll agree, dayz and armaII are pretty cpu/gpu intensive programs you might as well get as much performance as possible and not share resources. dual boot your imac and you should be good to go!

    yes you need combined operations, which is the paid version of arma II and operation arrowhead.

    you are a good man. i can't stand the retards that prop tents up like this. they literally just prevent the use of tents for other people. they raid grocery stores or other tent spawns, take them all, then put them up outside so other people can't use them to establish a camp. losers.

    well technically you didn't eat a whole cow, you ate 8 steaks. anyhow, i like your idea! would make the game a bit more realistic.

    or also the bodies could stick around for some time prior to the bodies disappearing, and blood could attract more zombies. once they eat part of the dude the dude could get infected and become a zombie. also it would be good to change the 'hide body' option to 'burn body' to prevent dead players from becoming zombies.

    congrats, if you have never gotten sick that's good. if your temp dips too low and you get sick you can get other players sick. you can also catch diseases from zombies. you will die unless you get antibiotics in these cases, so they are pretty useful.

    i think the only thing you have that's relatively uncommon is antibiotics. good luck! finding NVGs has been tough for me too.

    feel like i've seen this before with AMD CPUs. i have the same video card as you by the way, and pull great FPS. I assume your drivers are updated? check them all, not just your video drivers, hit your mobo site and update all the drivers you can. hope it helps.

    only thing i'm accusing you of is locking your server. that's it, and that's a blacklistable offense. i've read 3 threads now complaining about your server. how many more do i need to read? you had multiple unique forum accounts complain about the locking. i see since then you have unlocked it again, probably a smart move.
