After joining my game today with zero food and water, and bleeding from stupid zombie, i died. Upon spawning again i got horrible graphical glitches: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197993190994/screenshots/ After that i logged of and restarted my PC. When i joined the same server i spawned unable to move or use any keys, 12000 health but was unconscious with a hourglass icon. I waited for it to deplete, and then trie d to log in again. It happened again. Im going to wait for a few and try to get in. :POSSIBLE FIX:Was able to get in after zombies found my body luckily and devoured me before the timer ran out. Now however Dallas server has no zombies, VA servers are slow or not loading and i haz sad. Oh well, time to keep trying.

This reminds me of the in-game VoIP thread on Battlefields Battlelog forums. People from both sides coming together to fight the opposing opinion. What really reminds me of it tho is the reasons for NOT including this feature. BF3: P1: We want VoIP in game, VoIP is essential to teamplay. P2: I dotn want to listen to 13 y/o kids screamign on mic. Use TS. Blah blah. Deal with it. DayZ: P1: Would love a second character to play alone as, maybe have one bandit and one survivor. P2: ZOMG exploits etc etc. Deal with it. Personally i think ONE MORE character wouldn't hurt. 2 max. Then at least the "muling" is 'capped'. I get both sides of this argument. I get people will abuse it(but someone always abuses something so...) but MOST will just use it as intended. The whole TSA-esque stance on this is ridiculous. Just because of a few bad apples, everyone needs to 'suffer'? That doesn't seem right. ANYWAY, would love to get a second character so i can solo, maybe use it to learn the map better, and to get a little reckless. It's obvious after crawling in the woods and through towns for hours and hours one becomes more cautious, and possibly less adventurous. Bottom line, in this Alpha mod...it wouldn't hurt to try different things, before its get its big boy Beta pants on.

I like the night dark. Pitch black however is another story. On a rainy cloudy i get that its ridiculously dark, but even with a tiny moon and all the stars, its still dark as can be. FWIW, even the brightness and gamma increase isnt really that much of an advantage. Maybe if you are in a town but in the woods...forget about any sort of stealthy navigation. Id rather crouch around the map in the daylight than to have to pop flares in the pitch black. We arent spelunking here, were traveling, in some cases, in wide open fields...there should be some ambient light.

Its not hard to find wood. Actually wood is rather common now. Its just like loot and only spawns where loot does. Temp is a little extreme. Ran for miles in the rain to log out at 32*. Its deal-able but i feel bad for the lone wolves with Coyote packs.

IF this game was supposed to be uber real, then pepsi cans and pasta wouldnt randonly appear in houses that only had zombies near them. the constant nitpicking is actually the problem. im all for giving suggestions, but they cant just be based on what pissed you off or screwed you over that day. You have to eat and drink a lot...and there is a lot of water and food... Whats the problem again?

I'm going to kill when necessary. I don't care about the same skin ordeal. I'm glad hes not coddling people. My best advice, and the advice me and my group are following is this. Stay low, stay quiet, stay alert. It really is not that hard to tell a hostile. Yesterday i made the choice of asking first, firing later, and i learned something. If I'm going to put myself in danger, I'm going to get myself out of that danger when it arises, no matter what it takes. Point of the mod is to survive, and my own moral compass should lead me to where i want to be.

If i could play 24 hours i would. Once i get NVGs im probably going to stay in night servers.

Just FYI you all know that Humanity isn't gone right? It just isn't displayed anymore. He has future plans for the Humanity index, and i assume they will be big. OT I've been one-shotted too many times by people with no regards for human life. I too am now becoming more calloused. Eventually i will become a mountain man where the only time i come out of the woods...is to kill someone. Being in the Bean Wars locations doesn't really help at all neither. Apologies in advance if you happen to be a nice person on the receiving end of my slugs.

Are you right clicking the item NAMES? You need to right click the item PICTURES and that will allow interaction Also i am fairly certain you cant use items out of your bag. Pretty sure you can only use items in your "active inventory". Hope that helps you solve your problem! :angel:

[/quote'] Yea last night the server was @ 0 zombies. Eventually it went 30, untill people started killing them. Any idea what causes that? Is it because people are camping in cities? Maybe in the woods? Or is it an issue with the main/game server?

It should be painfully obvious now that there is not going to be any "off-peak" hours. Popular mod is popular. Let the man distribute it as he feels necessary. Problem is all you vultures will try to connect 20 million times when he does, and that spells no bueno for any and ALL servers, main or gameservers. And whatever, if the patch takes another 'Y' days or 'X' weeks, maybe there will be more fixes and features. Fact of the matter is that this damn mod is amazing, and while it needs work its far from "ZOMG so unplayable needz moar patch pl0x!" :angel:

Im actually going to assume that this lack of communication is a GOOD thing. With every server ive joined the past few hours and 50/50 people waiting for a server response i have to assume there is something going on in the works. His post said they are deciding on how to update, not IF they will(well he said pending testing, but since we havent gotten any negative testing feedback i ASSUME that means it went well). I think he wants to come on here and make a dope post about the update with a changelog. He wants to be sure its pushed out fully*giggidy* before jumping the gun. Well with the vast majority of people not being able to play then i agree to patch it now. BUT, im not rocket and since he feeds on tears, i dont want him to make me cry. Apparently hes always hungry for moar o.0 ;p

Pretty much all the servers are unable to be connected to right now... Just putting it here because making a new(another) thread is pointless.

I bought this game yesterday. I died a few times trying to get to civilization. I once encountered a person creeping up on me, to which i stated i was friendly. I then asked. Never coming out of prone nor responding, i fired wildly at them. Turns out the barrel i was lookign down was a shotgun with slugs. I died. However...night fell upon me soon enough. First let me say that holy crap its sooo dark at night but without the way it is this experience would have been a lot less exhilarating. So i spawn on the coast(to my left) and i spot a light house in the distance. Vaguely familiar from a video on youtube that i saw. Anway, its dark and i heard flares are ridiculously bright. I am new and have no choice but to be that noob carrying a flare down the coastline. I set the flare down as i thought i heard some walkers near me. While i sneak out of the light of the flare some blue text pops onto my screen. "On the beach with flares...friendly?" I turned to look at my girlfriend and said "OMG someone is stalking me, holy crap holy crap holy crap". I answer yes but hear nothing in response. Im going to die, i just know it. I chuck a flare into the distance to see if i can spot them...nothing there. I run using zero caution and restraint into the thickening woods ahead of me. Feeling 'safer' i start to duck walk throught the forest where i can JUST make out some buildings. I stop moving to check the horizon against the night sky to see if i can see any safe havens. I slowly scan the horizon when what do I see. A flare suddenly lights in the distance. They are behind me, possibly stalking my every move. "OMG do you see it?! They are following me!" i said laughing and getting as excited as a school girl. I havent felt a rush liek this in a game since i played Amnesia, or the first time i fought a tank in L4D. I go prone as i see the flare extinguish. I start my army crawl to the buildings i could barely make out. Another flare appears, brighter and closer than the last. "Do a barrel roll" i hear Peppy say in my mind. So i did. I roll over to this fence, army crawl in and post up next to a barn. All i can hear is the moans and groans of zombies, but what else is out there. I know im not the only living around here. I cautiously wait for 10-15 minutes for any signs of the stalker, but nothing. "Screw this, im throwing a flare" i said to my GF, who agreed. I pull the cap off, strike the top and hurl it into the distance. Zombies everywhere in the field. 7-9 of them. Some walkers, some hoppers. Hell theres even one crawling in prone. Wait a minute. No there isn't. The stalker has been spotted. Crawling around the outskirts of my newly tossed flare i watch him with curiostiy as he army crawl weaves in and out of zombie hordes. He thinks im near that flare. Does he want me dead? Why is he so carelessly moving around a field. He slowly fades to darkness to the right of my flare. "Screw this guy, if anyone is going to get eaten, its him." I pop the cap off the flare once again and toss it to the right. Damn near hit the fellow. Hes done for, zombies have spotted him, or at least my flare. Im going to watch this stalker slowly be ripped apart by the undead. Or was I? Just as i thought this person was dead i hear a dull roar. "What is that, its getting closer". Suddenly to my left i see it. One lonely jeep with an unknown amount of passengers goes wailing by. Full speed, head lights on and about 10 zombies behind them. I nearly lost my shit when i saw that. That made this mod so visceral and so real that i was hooked right then and there. I hope my story was entertaining for you all, and i apologize for my lack of grammar etc. Im no english major. Just a guy with some flares, trying to survive the apocalypse. :Please note this story is true. Names and locations have been changed to protect the living :P :)

Well since i plan on ONLY killing in self defense, i should be ok. I guess im just goign to stick to loot piles. But cant people drop items into said piles as well? And legacy said "These guns don't normally have a picture next to them indicating that they are not to be used." So some of these defective/illegal/hacked items DO have pictures? This little incident is turning out to be quite the paradox.

So i have to memorize a wiki list or alt/tab to check every time i find a spicy new weapon? Sadpanda. :gets out notebook: Any plans to better deal with this in the future?
