DayZ Mod 1.7.7.1 tent placement is nerfed

I agree. This is ridiculous. Any somewhat hidden tent spot is now unusable. So unless you want to store all your goods in the middle of the forest where EVERYone can see it, tents are useless again. The only way to save stuff is vehicles which get spotted from the Air like they have neon signs above them. I've played dayz since launch, i've only ever found sandbags or a shovel and handful of times. I can tell you in all honesty in the past 50-60 hours of play i've never seen a entrench or a sandbag. If we can't save stuff what is the point? Pick up a weapon run to town die, rinse, repeat. Having a stash of goods made the game survival for me. -

Ok guys, I am in need of some help. I've been wracking my brain for days trying to figure out this out. I bought a Dayz.st server and trying to upload a custom map I made. It's chernaruas. I uploaded the BEIDI file to the Bliss Map Script website, http://dayz.wofjwof.com/map . Everytime I insert the code in the Bliss SQL panel, it gives me this error. #1062 - Duplicate entry 'Land_Mil_Barracks_i_EP1' for key 'uq1_building' I originally thought it was because the map I made was to big. I completed re did it, and it will NOT work. I am to much of a noob with SQL to understand what this means. Can anyone help me, or explain to me Why this error happens, and how to fix it. I can provide the code that I am uploading if needed. -

Well the two things it mentions are the Military barracks in DayZ. Which is tagged as uq1_building and Land_MIL_Barracks, those are actually in the game, I'm just adding more of them accross the map. But what I don't understand if thats what is creating the duplicate, how come others can upload the same editied map with the New barracks. Here is my code. I've tried changing the ID and the name in this file, but it doesn't seem to work. Apparently nobody has a fix. You can uninstall, reinstall, manually update mods, beta's, all day long. For some reason it won't fucking work. I even wiped my HDD to get it to work. Nobody seems to have a answer, check the other 30 posts about this. DayZ team haven't acknowledged this publicly. This is what i've done, maybe you can try and see if it works for you Removed ARMA and ARMA OA, Removed Six Launcher and DayZ commander. Reinstalled both. Updated to latest mods/beta's. Downgraded to old mods/betas. Verified Steam Cache, reinstalled Steam, reinstalled Arma Dayz steam version. Manually updated the mods and beta's by dragging them into your install directory. Re-image the entire operating system. Took working Install files from a friend and imported to my settings. Recreated my PBO's. Nothing. Fucking. Works. -
Hey guys, Having some massive issues. Hopefully someone can help. Here is what's going on. I've been playing Dayz almost since launch. This last patch really screwed me over. I updated to 1.7.6 and got in a few servers I play on, everything was fine. Went to bed, the next morning I am unable to join ANY server. It always says "Oops something went wrong, please disconnect and try again". OR "You are running version 1.7.6.1 and the server you are trying to join is 1.7.6-finalising". - I've completely removed both ARMA and ARMAOA - Completely removed Six launcher and Dayz Commander - Removed all MODS I installed, dayz, rmod, things like that After doing all of that I reinstalled dayz latest mod, reinstalled six and dayzcommander and had it update to the latest revisions which is 1.7.6.1 with Beta 102285. This still did not work, still unable to join any servers. So I manually installed the mod and the beta, and changed steam to launch beta, still nothing. - I then got desperate and completely wiped my fucking HDD (reinstalled OS, it was time for it anyways) - Redownloaded ARma and Arma OA - Redownloaded DayZ commander and updated to latest revisions - Redownloaded six launcher and used that to try and update also. - Tried rolling back BETA patches and DAyz Mod version and still can't connect. Still I can't connect to any fucking servers. I have no idea whats going on.

This didn't work for me. Still same thing Oops something went wrong. I've done literally everything i've read online. I am completely unable to play dayz. And I blame the piece of whiny shit gamers who complained to Rocket that the "cans aren't realistic", so he had to change the mod.

When I open DayZ commander it shows I'm running 1.7.6.1 (Latest) and ARMA 2 102285 (Latest). Now on arma's Beta website there is a Latest version of 102591. I tried installing this also but it doesn't work. http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php . When I open ARMA from Steam or from Expansions/Beta folder, Arma loads and says on the bottom right hand corner that I'm running 1.62.102591. this doesn't make any sense, because I've manually updated it. When I change to 102285 Arma reflects that in the bottom right corner. Whenever I click on a Join game in PSW it says "You are currently running a wrong version of the mod, do you want to continue?) But I know i'm not. I've tried downloaded the mod from PSW, DayZ commander, the Torrent, and the manual site, and then Dragged and dropped the files. No luck.

I have the same issue. I can't go on any server, 2.4 or 2.5. Stuck on loading. I have deleted battle eye, reinstalled. Deleted and reinstalled Arma, SixLauncher and Commander. Defrag steam files, checked steam Cache. I am pretty much screwed. -
It would be kinda cool if for some vehicles you could team up to drive them. One to drive, a few to shoot out windows, A group of 2 or more should be required to fly a helicopter Maybe some skins for Friendly, how long you have survived, massive zombie kills, things like that Rocket said in a interview that he is trying to make endgame content as well, because once you get all the cool stuff the only thing to do is just kill people. I would like to see some sort of unlockable skin system, for weapons, vehicles, camo. This could be achieved by killing zombies, time survived, finding mountain dew cans, things like that. I know it's not "realistic" but i'm ok with venturing off the path slightly

I have been thinking about this lately. A good idea would be to reward players for helping. Bandits get specific skins (well they did), but there could be a Friendly skin as well. This could be introduced by giving blood transfusions, bandit kills, giving morphine when a fellow player is in need. The PVP will never stop, and it shouldn't, but if there was some kind of sweet reward for actually helping other survivors then maybe we could even the playing feild with friendlys and bandits/murderers

Making a camp that was damn near impossible to find. The tents where not even visible, we glitched them inside a tree, had them for weeks, filled with everything. Found a motorcycle and within one hour the server admin magically found this camp and raided everything, and also made about a 400 yard shot with a 1911, twice. Pretty fishy. Ruined weeks of work. Then soon as we confront them, they alt f4 with all the gear. -

I play with another IRL friend and we are tired of the random PVP on innocents, we would go out of our way to help others, but its basically become a shoot on site, and thats unfortunate. We love surviving and challenging ourselves without the Hunt and Stalk noobs, which everyone has become so accustomed to. -

It would be difficult for fresh starts unless they made the ability to either melee zombies with fists, or give us a starting melee weapon, maybe a usable knife, or a large pipe. Taking guns out was something I agree with, but nothing at all sucks. -
Mine would have most of your things, along with these. Complete Seasons, (fall, winter, summer), maybe depending on what the server location season is More vehicles - Snowmobiles, planes, ultralights, boats Huge map including Islands that take maps and boats to find. Massive cities like Atlanta size ALL houses to be enterable Naval warfare - the ability to raid boats and drive them incredibly far with instruments only The ability to move vehicles (Especially the PBX, be able to carry it in shore and hide it) Streams and rivers that cut through the land Zombies that don't glitch out, maybe slow down the zombie movements but increase the frequency of them by a ton. Also maybe Zombie hordes, with 50 to 100+ zombies gathering and roaming the countryside. More weapons and equipment. The ability to create player housing. Gather wood and supplies to make a cabin or fortress. Different types of ammo per gun. FMJ, Hollow Points, Tracers

I was talking about this earlier with a friend. The answer your questions are Yes. I think the game has exploded with new players because the Idea is phenominal and the potential for greatness is there. I love DayZ, I love surviving with my friends. But we are having to many CoD kiddies coming in and turning this into a PVP fest. It's terrible, and its ruining the game for people who want a actual zombie apocalypse survival like me. Killing people is great, but its becoming to focused and taking away from the entire game. Sure some of you will say "PVP IS JUST LIKE HOW IT WOULD BE IN IRL". Yes, but sitting on type of a hill near elektro and sniping new spawns is bullshit. Declaring friendly and offerning supplies to people then them killing you for Lol's is also bullshit. Clans taking over every item in the game and hording them because "they can" and for PVP is ruining what I believe Rocket wanted for this game, in my opinion. I've tried to declare friendly and offer supplies but nobody wants to play that way, its just "run to Stary grab weapons, kill people". I can't even count the number of times i've been killed trying to help or when i'm unarmed. And its sad, because I had more faith in the PC community. This is X-box live type of shit that's going on. -
Yeah I understand where you are coming from. But all this is going to do is give snipers/campers even more of a upperhand than they already have. Its going to make anyone who gets the drop on someone a guranteed kill (yes thats realistic, but it will not be a enjoyable aspect of the game, it will be exploited by people who want to ONLY hunt other players). So people will just hide constantly around towns with no chance of ever being found because if they shoot someone, they can't run away, they will crawl and die. I like the idea, and I LOVE simulation games, but whats happening in DayZ is that people aren't playing as a simulation (only a handful), they are playing as a Call of Duty game, and ruining it for the people who want a simulation.
