I don't see anyone adding uses for duct-tape! Come on guys I'm sure you've got something to add! I got another one: 12. Leg waxing for female characters. Who said you can't have great legs in a zombie apocalypse?

So it is. Me and dozens of other people in various games have been spelling it wrong for years. Thank you.

I've been thinking for a while that bloodbags shouldn't restore a player to full health. I'm thinking that they should restore somewhere between 3,000 and 4,000 blood, requiring 3 to 4 bags to fully restore a player. My reasoning behind this is three things. Firstly, in a fire-fight between two groups, its very easy to restore an injured team-mate to full health with only a few moments to bloodbag them. My second reason is that as it stands bloodbags are too abundant. At the moment my clan and I are using bloodbags when people are around 9,000 blood, simply because we always end up with more bloodbags than we can carry. My third reason is that the ability to simply bandage someone then bloodbag them to restore them to full health and full working order, even from 1 blood, is a little too easy. Atleast if they required 3-4 bloodbags for full health, they'd still have a chance of passing out even after receiving a bloodbag from extreme low health. So either cut the amount of blood that blood bags restore, or cut their spawn rate down to a lower level to make them much more valuable.

Go back to CoD if you think weapons do too much damage in this game.

It seems that these days, when playing games online, I need to run FRAPS/Bandicam/Playclaw etc to ensure I have evidence whenever I fall victim to a hacker. This kind of sucks, especially considering the perform hits these programs have on your gameplay.

Every time I load into the game, I instantly pass out and have to wait for a timer. It also sends me back to a beach. Even after dying multiple times, this problem still persists. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? NB: No, it's not a due to 'shock' or 'server hopping'. Even after spawining on a new character and running straight into a forest and logging off without taking any damage from other players or zombies. Can anyone assist me in Solviing this issue?

Really depends on how you land. I'm really doubting there's many people who've survived a fall from a plane at decent altitude and who are still walking around, completely functional. So unless we want the ability to become a paraplegic in DayZ, I think the falling death revive should be excluded. Plenty of people survive gunshots too. Even to the head. They usually need serious surgery though, as would a person who's fallen from a severe height.

You make a good point. Suriving alone: 800 blood per meat. So 6400 per cow, and you still have to find a hunting knife and way to cook the meat. Also takes you time to find an animal, gut it, find a cooking spot (either a hatchet and some matches, or a barrel fire). Two people surviving together: Find a blood bag. Restore full health in about 4 seconds. Reducing the amount a bloodbag restores would definitely even the odds a little.

I've been playing games online for over 15 years. I personally think it's gotten worse.

An assault rifle (M4A3 CCO preferred) 5x STANAG in main inventory plus 2 in backpack M9 SD or M1911 + 4 second magazines 2 M67 frags 1 Smoke 3 food 2 water bottles 2 Epipen - 1 in backpack and one in main inventory 2 Morphine - 1 in backpack and one in main inventory 2 Painkillers - 1 in backpack and one in main inventory 4 bandages 2 bloodbags, usually in backpack. All the toolbelt items I can find ALICE Pack most of the time by Coyote Backpack when I can find it NVG's when available. Binoculars or Rangefinder The reason I do the 1 in main one in backpack thing is because it allows me to quickly heal team mates, but also allows my team-mates to grab things from my pack and heal me if I go down and they're out of supplies.

A godmode hacker with an invincible bus on "DayZ - US #500 (1.7.2.5/95819) [VET][GMT+1] Multiplay :: Para Crew" This is an image I took a few minutes before the incident which happened between 01:02 and 01:04 AM GMT +10 (16:02 and 16:04 GMT+1) http://i.imgur.com/YRHQa.jpg The only people that I wasn't with were 25Uniform and ESSERDERT. The rest were guys travelling with me. Whilst travelling through Kozlovka (04,10) we decided to refill our water bottles at the well there. Just after refilling the well we heard a vehicle approaching on the road to the east. We all went prone and prepared to open fire on it. As it got closer (about 150 m), we all opened up. There were 7 of us. 3 AK-74's, 1 AKM, 1 DMR, an FN FAL and an M16. Most of us emptied an entire clip into the front end drivers side of this bus, directly at the driver. The driver hopped out and ran up a hill taking more fire. Our DMR uses confirms multiple hits (from blood spatters on the the driver) and we decide that it must be a hacker and all log off expecting us to all get killed. In the process of this, I was trying to reposition when one of my team-mates accidently shot me in the back of the head and I died. I decided to try and run back to see if my gear was still there, and found a bus driving around again, this time at Kamenka (02,13). Around this same time, one of my team-mates decides to log back on. He logs in and checks the bus, and its in perfect condition, despite us putting well over 100 rounds into it (pro***ly closer to 170). One of our team also threw a grenade which landed right next to it. The driver stops and lets me in. I asked him to drop me at Kozlovka, and during the drive we had a conversation. I recorded all of this on Bandicam, thinking the drive was infact the hacker. This is the particular image of note: http://i.imgur.com/M1o7A.jpg Whether this guy was actually the hacker and 'pretending' to have received the bus from someone else, or if he was actually just some random who go given a bus, I don't know. But I'm certain that server logs will show exactly who spawned the buses. Call me an a-hole for reporting a 'friendly' hacker. But this has to stop. If it was a hardcore, kill everyone they can, greif the entire server that I had all this evidence on, I'd report it in a second. But I can only report the people I have the evidence on. And before anyone says "You all have high ping! You probably all miss!", I'd like to mention that when I fired opened fire, the bus was headed right for us - it was a 0 deflection shot, with 7 people shooting. Not only that, but as I've previously stated, the bus took over 100 rounds of ammo was still in perfect condition.

"#beclient players" not working on several servers
miket posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Tried using the #beclient players command to get the GUID of a hacker we had the name of. When I entered it, nothing happened. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I open up the chat window with / and type "#beclient players". Nothing comes up. Does it generate a file on my PC somewhere? -
Can you see the shooter? Invisible shooter or 3 blind mice?
miket posted a topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
Can you see the shooter? Shortly after killing a guy with a hacked in suppressed G36C, we hear loud explosions at our base. We all run into the trees expecting bombs to drop on us, and this is what happens shortly after. 3 of us were scanning the trees for the shooter. None of us could see anything. The puffs of smoke are seen at around 1:01, and I try to return fire after noticing them. If you can point out where the shooter was, I will post a video of me dancing in a pink tutu. -

I run 480p because sometimes I get down to around 30 fps in towns like Cherno/Elektro. I could probably run 720 in areas like that without an issue. I'll try 720p for a bit and see how it impacts me in Cherno/Elektro. Those flickers are just graphical glitches. They've been happening since ARMA 1 and haven't been fixed. I've seen them on a 9600GT, a GTS250 and now my GTX560 Super Overclock. I think they're caused by the game not being able to decide whether to draw high res or low res textures. Although I'm sure someone on the ARMA 2 forums would be able to explain better than I can. The 'puff of smoke' you saw was also an artifact. I watched that area very closely on the source video, and there were no puffs of smoke coming from the vehicle. Listened to this multiple times. I can't hear them coming from the right. The footsteps to my right were another team-mate. We had 3 guys there and you can hear them both to the left and right of me. As for the 'You should have logged out part', well... we had been jumping between servers looking for a 'hacker free' one all night. We'd already lost tonnes of gear that night to hackers (thunderdomes, teleports, god-mode hackers, etc). As we had just killed a guy with a hacked in gun who appeared from no where, we were almost certain the shooter in this video was the same guy, as another clan-mate had just killed the guy we killed under 2 km away, but the guy was back and attacking us in under 5 minutes. Completely impossible. Even if he had a chopper waiting for him at his spawn location, it would've taken well over 5 minutes just to fly to where we were, land, and walk to camp (if they landed closer we would've heard the chopper). It would've taken ages to get from spawn, AND his gear was hacked in. The question is, how many times are you supposed to die to hackers? How many times are you supposed to put all your gear at risk against someone who's just going to teleport straight back, fully geared up anyway? I don't hear shots from behind. I hear bullet hits behind, but the shots are from the front. The footsteps from behind are a team-mates. -
NOTE: This thread is a repost from the original thread I posted in DayZ discussion. Just moving it to the right place. Some edits have been made. Original thread can be found here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/51103-ammo-boxes-and-reloadable-magazines/ TLDR Version: - Ammo boxes containing a specific type of ammo can be found and used to reload magazines (which takes time) - Empty magazines stay in inventory for reloading later - High capacity bandoliers for 12 gauge and rifle rounds to balance ammunition carrying capacity - Ability to combine partial magazines. - Ability to transfer rounds of the same type between magazines for different weapons (eg. M9/G17 both take 9x19mm) The players capacity to carry ammunition is quite limited in this game. Sure, if you were carrying nothing but ammunition, you'd have a decent capacity, but as we all know, this is never the case. I think a great feature to enable the carrying of greater amounts of ammunition would be the ability to find 'ammo boxes'. An ammo box would take up one standard inventory slot and contain an amount of ammo dependant on its ammunition type. To compliment this, empty magazines would not be dropped, but would return to the inventory with the red cross through them much like an empty water bottle. The player would need to load their magazines from the ammo box, which would take anywhere from 2 seconds to 2 minutes depending on the type of magazine. For example, a revolver speedloader would take only 5 seconds to reload whilst a full 200 rnd M249 ammo box would take a full 2 minutes (reloading only 100 rounds from the box would take 1 minute). If would also be good if weapons like the double-barrel shotgun and M1014 could be reloaded directly from something like an ammo pouch or bandolier with maybe a 24 round capacity and that bandolier would be reloaded from a box of shells. The current requirement to split 12 guage loads between 8 and 2 not only takes up a lot of space, but means you can't load perfectly good shotgun shells into an M1014 because you don't have 4 lots of 2 to combine. In addition, you could have bandoliers for both 12 gauge shells and perhaps other types of rounds like rifle rounds for the CZ and Enfield. This would really balance out the current system which enables someone with an assault rifle to carry 150 rounds in 5 inventory slots, whilst someone with a CZ can only carry 25 rounds in the same space. Or even worse, a double barrel shotgun user who can only carry 1 8 round mag and 4 2 round magazines in 5 slots for a total of 16 rounds (because you need atleast 4 inventory slots to unpack an 8 round magazine), but still needs to stop to unpack the 8 rounds before use. Finally, like many people have stated, partial magazines need to be combinable, and magazines of like ammunition types need to be exchangable for each other. Currently you can switch .45 ACP rounds between M1911 magazines and revolver speed loaders, but you can't switch M9 magazines to G17 magazines, even though they both use 9x19mm. Whether or not something like this could actually be implemented is uncertain. It may simply be that ARMA 2 is too restrictive. Ammo box sizes could include (just an idea, obviously would need balancing): 120 rounds 5.56 mm (1 inventory slot) 60 12 gauge rounds (1 inventory slot) 120 rounds 9mm (1 inventory slot) 100 rounds .45 ACP (1 inventory slot) 300 rounds 7.62 mm (2 inventory slots)

Can you see the shooter? Invisible shooter or 3 blind mice?

They do indeed. I have actually been standing about 5m from an invisible guy who was gunning down my team. All I could see was puffs of smoke emerging from nowhere. -
The most awesome hacker in Dayz(Sorry hatchet guy)

I will check this out when I get home. Trying to watch 480p on a bus with mobile internet isn't very good. You all might get that pink tutu video afterall (if he isn't invisible). -
Invisible hacker on AU 9 just killed a whole bunch of guys. I was out of ammo at the time, tried to switch to my hatchet but couldn't do it in time to kill him. Wish I was running my Bandicam because I was literally 5 m from him as he gunned down my team.

Well my clan used to be ANZ 5 regulars (hosted by AusArma.org). Then the entire server got hacked so bad that it went down for days, and when it came back up, our base camp and vehicles were gone (ie, gone by having to reset the server) We tried going back to it after it came back up, but it went down again shortly after. I really feel sorry for cm. and Freebourne. Having to manage an entire server reset and still having issues after must be a pain in the arse.

Some guys named Vilayer.com. Quite frankly I'm sick of trying to report hackers. Because every server is hosted by different people I end up having to sign up to multiple damn forums just to report a hacker. Extremely frustrating. Every time I report, I never see the results. I don't get the satisfaction of seeing "Global Ban". I don't get teleported back to where I was killed or get my gear which I've spent hours collecting back. That and it generally take several hours if not more to get a reply back, by which time the damage is already done. Making things even more frustrating this time, is that I was actually BEHIND the shooter (I was watching puffs of smoke come out of nowhere), watching him gun down my team, but had no ammo. I tried to switch out to my hatchet, but after hitting G, pressing drop on my rifle, then remove from toolbelt on my hatchet, he had already slaughtered everyone and turned to gun me down too.

Can spend several hours gathering gear, setting up base camps, finding and repairing vehicles, and running around the map, only to get killed by an invisible/teleporting/god-mode hacker, and having all our tents run over by a vehicle either hacked in or stolen from our base, which is then blown up with satchels.

AutoIt or AutoHotKey can be used to do this. I personally have a Logitech G110 and use this script: function OnEvent(event, arg, family) if event == "G_PRESSED" and arg == 10 then state = not state if state then PressKey("w") else ReleaseKey("w") end end end What this does: When I press the button G10 (if event == "G_PRESSED" and arg == 10), it presses the W key. When I press it again, it releases the W key. Its pretty much equivalent to putting a weight on your W key.

Currently a hacker using invisibility and teleportation on NZ 21. Teleporting to a player, talking in direct chat, then saying don't run or I'll shoot you. Generally shoots the player in the leg and leaves or simply kills them. He is completely invisible. This started shortly after 7:30 pm AEST (GMT+10).
