You do realize that just about every has some form of M4/M16 type rifle in use by some of its forces? It may not be the main rifle but it is in use by a large part of the world including Post soviet bloc countries looking to westernize. They definitly don't need to be as common as they are but they are there. They need more Saiga, Vepr, and CZ sporting rifles. Oh and an AMD-65! :D

It is an evolution of the castle. There isn't a keep nor tall towers but definitely an evolution of it.

3 castles, zub, devils, and rog.

I was discussing with my squad mates the other day some ideas about the health system in standalone and whether or not there would be some sort of revive feature and came up with this idea. The idea is that with playing with a group or whatever or just wanting to help someone out when their down, you could provide CPR and have a chance to revive a downed player. Now chances of success could be very low but it would definitely be a cool feature and add more intensity to an already intense situation. Of course the revived player should have some penalties, weaker, slower, etc. Humanity could be boosted for the player reviving them. But it opens up more possibilities for the medics/heroes out there and could provide a whole new experience. Some Idea's discussed below were: When a player goes down, there would be a time limit (realistically 2 mins) where CPR can be used with very low chance to revive a dead, or dying player. (Obviously, this would be before you hit the " YOU ARE DEAD!" screen) Example: 5-10% chance of revival. Defibrillator (Most likely Automated External Defibrillator) gives bonus to chance of revival. Example: 20-25% Feel free to share your opinion.

Agreed. Head shots, heart, some of the other vital organs.

No shit, CPR won't patch you up. The suggestion of CPR is in addition to whatever treatment be needed, i.e. bandage, tourniquet, whatever. Its a game, You don't have to go into too much detail. Basic "care under fire" type stuff. This is the way we were trained from the start until last year. Now instead of ABC, its CAB. Its retarded. Btw, I'm a 68W Combat medic.

Well, usually if you are looking at the "You are dead" screen most players are already disconnecting. So, for gameplay purposes I would just have it before that screen. The "You are Dead" screen has too much "finality" in it. Also, I like the 4 minute time limit. That sounds very reasonable for gameplay purposes and realistic as well. Actually, I think they are teaching it as 6 mins now. But that stuff changes every year. Last time I had CPR training ( I have it annually) they had us doing chest compressions first, then airway and breathing. Bah, that shit always changes too much lol. Thanks for the reply!

That's the whole point of this thread. It wasn't described clear enough obviously. You obviously wouldn't be "dead" if you are able to resuscitated.

I really like your thinking but I would like to see them both as reviving options. CPR being slower and less effective than the AED. AED's should be much more effective. Mercules has a great point. AED's are everywhere. Thanks for the reply! This man right here knows whats going on! AED's are everywhere and they are usually pretty small. Thanks for the reply. Absolutely. This suggestion is meant for the what ever medical system they come up with in SA. I'm glad you like the idea. It sounds like they are going in good direction. Thanks for the reply.

I believe he was just offering a suggestion for WHEN the .50 cal blows off your legs lol

More of a weapon list: http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1kwetu/my_wishlistsuggestions_for_sa/ Mapcase and map markings idea: http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1l7w2q/map_marking_and_map_cases/ Padlocks, Chains, and bolt cutters: http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1l1duq/padlocks_chains_and_bolt_cutters_suggestion/ Be gentle. Edit: Oh and this. I know it was part of the weapon list but it got more attention on its own. http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1l7x22/amd65_needs_to_be_in_standalone/

I like the idea but it could be potentially be OP. This should definitely be an option but be relatively rare (not as rare as actual meds) just to keep people from spamming them. Which I doubt spamming will be a problem in SA. They have stated that you will only be able to do things like eat and drink to a certain limit. Like eat/drink until you're full.

I think a simple spear should definitely be craftable for hunting purposes and a riot shield should be lootable.

I want a piece of rebar and be able to stab zeds in the eye like they do on walking dead.

Thanks! I knew they would but I thought it couldn't hurt to show what I would like to see.

Input (2 x Soda can, high temp tape) Output (Soda can stove) Tools (cutting tool) FailChance 0.1 Enchantments = N/A ActionType = Blueprint Example: http://www.thesodacanstove.com/alcohol-stove/how-to-build.html? A cool little improvised stove

Most of the guns are pretty well balanced but I agree with Clumzy on the AK issue, the 5.45 rounds should be on par with 5.56.

And then BAM! Your head explodes from a sniper.

What bothers me is with the way damage is now and has been, pistols, 9mm subs, and the like aren't worth a damn. You are better off defending yourself from players with a hatchet.
-
They made it like 1389 or something, and the 1911 do 4500, but it still doesn't work to my knowledge. I tested it on some buddies and damage is the same

I recently watched the latest Devblog (very impressive) and noticed that the M4's that had a red dot or CCO attachments did not have back up iron sights (BUIS) on them. Now normally for games its no big deal but I'd imagine with the direction DayZ is going they will probably need batteries (especially considering rockets gameplay, his CCO red dot didn't seem to be on but maybe I just missed it). Just suggesting that BUIS be considered as a sight choice, with or without a CCO or other optic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4j0cPwIbwsM EDIT: Skip ahead to about 2:55 to see what I mean about his red dot not being on. EDIT: To be clear for people who don't understand what I mean about using a BUIS in conjunction with a red dot, here is a pic: You can use a BUIS, if properly aligned (cowitnessed) with the CCO, with the CCO still attached. So, there is no need to remove anything, just a quick flip of the sight and your ready to rock. Thanks for reading.

I definitely considered it, but I don't really need it. It's a 1-4x scope anyway, so at 1x I can still get on target relatively quickly. I might do it on another build I want to do. I want to put together a MK12 Mod 0 clone in 6.5 Grendel. Definitely would be cool on that. Yep, but for gameplay sake I doubt they would do it. They already state many items in game will need batteries if I'm not mistaken, that's why I assumed your optic would need one. I mean why not if other items are going to need them. I don't see why every thinks they won't go through the trouble of doing that kind of thing. I mean they are working on item degradation, foot damage, all sorts of infections. What's so big about this issue. I digress. Anyways, those Aimpoints are badass, I think the latest one has about an 8 year battery life. Thanks for the replies.

Camping in a boat. That's a first I heard of it and I like that idea.

I can see the idea of different "types" of zombies working out. Maybe injured or some disabled zombies like limping ones and some freakishly fast jumping ones. I really like the ones from World War Z. They were scary as fuck. They are already working on a melee system for standalone.

Yes! Thanks for the reply, that sounds awesome!
