What Will Happen To PVP in 0.55?

I echo the sentiments of people who believe more and more threatening zombies is required. I’ve played DayZ since the mod was first released, one thing that kept it interesting for me is the zombies and continual threat. Once DayZ Standalone arrived (Purchased first day) I played it for a couple of days and stopped, also tried it this week and again have now stopped.. There is just a complete lack of zombies, the fact I’m able to run all over cherno while only attracting one zombie is mental. I remember at one point in the mod they made zombies insanely threatening, if you shot your weapon on top of one of the flats by the hospital by cherno zombies would swarm the building and climb up the ladder to get you.. It added such a great element, you couldn't just run around PVPing people in populated areas as there would be a consequence in way of the zombies. For example, previously people used to love sitting up there to take out people trying to find bandages or blood.. As a direct result of the increase in zombies people were far more cautious as to when / where they engaged somebody. It’s called DayZ, not Day with a little bit of Z. Lets hope they get it back on track because as it stands now, DayZ Standalone doesn't appeal to me. I dont care about glitchs, bugs, i lived with those fine in the mod.. But the lack of zombies entirely ruins it for me.
  2. So I started playing the DayZ Mod shortly after it came out, loved it. Purchased DayZ Standalone on day of release but after playing it found it quite buggy, also not much in way of zombies so it kind of lost that intense feeling of survival. Don't get me wrong, the mod was buggy also but i found on Standalone i died due to glitches quite often and at least in the mod the zombies represented a threat. I guess you guys would be best to ask, is it worth firing the game back up? Don’t want to plough on for a few days realizing it’s still in pretty poor shape and not worth playing. The servers anywhere close to 100 people yet? Or still around the 30-50 mark. On a side note, if it's still not worth the time.. It surprises me that a company has yet to release a stable and good game for this genre when it's so insanely popular. While i can appreciate games take a while to develop, DayZ Mod has been out since 2012. You'd of figured somebody would of released something better in that time, where WarZ and H1Z1 and similarly naff. Still a bit shocked it's stayed in Alpha stage for so long.
