I met 4 players today, 4 of them were hackers.
jem73 replied to Jimmy McNulty's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
yeah, stay away from players! i mean really. just get a nice gun and live in the forests! just imagine how exciting it will be when you find that cow. Lakes would be exhilarating! You could really bask in the beauty of the trees and run all day, now that would be the life -
were in russia, there should be some vodka somewhere.... would be funny if they added REALLY rare diet versions of the soda

Tonight me and some friends were playing on a server and it booted us. Since then, we cannot connect to any server. It hangs at waiting for host and then tells me "connection failed". Anybody else getting this problem tonight?

What's the point of playing this from a single player perspective?
jem73 replied to electroban's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I know its a pain, but find a good server and stick with it and you won't be reset every time. It seems to help to exit out of the game and wait a bit before joining a new server if you must -
Need Medical Assistance? We can help.
jem73 replied to Dr Wasteland MD's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Received very good service and fast too! Thanks guys! The medic who treated me was very kind and offered me food and water. Would recommend to any player in need, they seem to enjoy their work and are good at it too!! -

if the debug plains thing was such a big problem then why didn't it happen to a bunch of people. nobody i know had that problem except for being sent there by hackers, though everybody i know has been teleported to the coast multiple times. We also lost our stuff at least 1/4 of the time (except for ghillie suit) It doesn't matter if you stay on the same server. Eventually, and more than likely daily if you play a lot, you will get stuck on the loading screen or will have to leave due to a hacker/server suddenly is not stable. Back to coast again with the chance of no gear! Unless you are a lucky bastard and have the perfect server with no problems, you will be deeply effected by this glitch/feature/whatever it is!

If you could add any weapon(s) to the game, what would you choose? For me, I would definitely love to see the desert eagle added to the game. It would be a little rarer than the M9 silenced and would do deadly damage. Also, a combat knife would be nice to see. Instead of being a regular weapon/secondary, it would get its own key like equipment and you just pull it out. From the front it is a little less effective compared to a hatchet, though it is a one swipe kill if you hit em from the back, ala counter-strike/spy from TF2.

how do you end game? what is end game for you?
jem73 replied to =ANz= Zentile's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
end gaming for me is getting the absolute best gear and never being able to use it. end gaming for me is spending countless hours finally finding that AS50 and nato mags and then logging in an hour later on the same server back at the coast with no gear whatsoever. I don't understand how people "end game". My progress resets at least once or twice a day. I don't server hop. I do everything legit. Ad the game punishes me for it. Either it's hackers or the game itself, there is no end game. There is just countless wasted hours -
Is there a trick to finding crashed helicopters?
jem73 replied to XOLiD's topic in New Player Discussion
Take note when you find them on which server you are on and the location of the chopper. Although it's random, many servers often have the heli's spawn close to where they were before. For example, the majority of my favorite servers usually have choppers in the fields south/east of NW airfield as well as around the sobors. I can usually hop on after server save and find at least two or three fairly easy! Always check the fields surrounding a heli when you find one, they usually spawn in close proximity to each other. Always use the alt key to look around when traveling. You can start to train you eye to spot heli's and you will never know if you don't look! Crawl under the tail of the chopper in order to check under the heli. There is almost always hidden loot that you have to search for in order to find. After a couple you should be able to know exactly where loot will spawn Happy helicopter hunting! -
(Rocket) Why are we logging in on the coast
jem73 replied to Siggy (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
the better question is why are they so concerned with server hopping? Why is it such a big deal if items, gear, and progress disappears randomly ALL THE DAMN TIME? It's kind of silly to think that players would not take shortcuts to get their items back when they lose all of their stuff because of problems that are out of their control. I spent two days finding a ghillie, AS50, M9SD, etc. legit and then lost it ALL to a glitch ONE HOUR LATER. Half the damn servers don't even respawn ANY items in locations where they are supposed to much less good items. Half the servers do not have a good connection and it seems like more than half have hackers who will just teleport to me and kill me anyway. How could you punish somebody for something that is NECESSARY because the game has such shitty, gamebreaking flaws? I could see this type of prevention if the game was working correctly, but at this point in time, they are spending more time preventing things that people are doing to recover from game breaking glitches/problems instead of the glitches/problems themselves. -
Log on to no primary weapon, pistol, backpack, tools?
jem73 posted a topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Hi there so I logged off a server with all my stuff cause it was getting dark and wanted to find a day server. Try a new one, and my sniper, pistol, backpack, and tools were all gone! Tried logging back onto the old server and different ones and they are still gone. I still have the stuff in my main gear area as well as my ghillie suit. Anybody else have this problem? -
Keep losing all my progress due to some new glitch every time
jem73 posted a topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
How do people survive for so long in this game? I play so cautiously to watch out for other players and things that I can actually avoid and always get screwed over and lose hours of progress EVERY day. I can never survive for more than a day for being BS'd. Here is a list of things that have restarted or killed my character: - Slip and sliding off a roof while lying down without pressing any keys on the character - Getting vaulted in the air for no reason and coming down and dying - Falling through the stairs to the roof in the fire house and die while passed out and bleeding out - Vaulting for NO good reason while not even touching my keyboard - Having my guns stop working/invisible guns that do not do anything - My guy wont stop strafing left/right when pressing no movement keys, thus being unable to bandage myself and get eaten by zombies while passed out. - Getting stuck on doors, eaten by zombies - Constant error messages that pop up in the worst possible times and then log in to my character being dead - Random zombies who are hidden behind floorboards killing me or zombies whose heads only stick out of the floor Not to mention the hackers. Getting killed by invisible people who I can see bleeding. Teleported constantly to a death zone. Every single thing under the hacker book has been done to me. Oh my gosh, and the assholes. Breaking my legs from random rocks at Krutoy Cap and having to crawl 3 hours to play, seeing a dude with a gun and YELLING at him to kill me only for him to come with his buddies later and fence me in with barbed wire. So many things to be listed I won't even start. Now, after racking up many zombie kills and murders and having my best playthrough yet, finally getting my favorite sniper rifle, I log off in the forest and go get something to eat. I log onto my favorite server (the same one I logged out in) and I am in Kamenka with a brand new character with everything lost. There was no way I could have died and it did not even give me the option to choose a sex. Thought it might have been a problem with a HIVE but i log onto every server nad all my stuff is gone. I really hope something changes with this game and all of it's crap, I understand it is alpha, but it really is a great game and it is just frustrating how I see other people play for weeks and never have any of these problems. Thing such as the respawn button should be implemented again so you don't have to crawl for hours if a random rock decides to give you a leg lock and break your leg. /vent -
All gear disappear and Im back on shore!
jem73 replied to shone1's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
This just happened to me. Might as well stop playing. Ask yourself: is it worth being this frustrated and upset over something that obviously will not stop happening? Might as well either stop playing altogether or wait until some of these things have been patched/are more stable. The fact that I spent 10+ hours getting a chopper ready and searching for downed helis to get the best stuff and then being restarted at the coast when i log in the next time when I logged out in a safe place is just downright sad. -
okay thanks for understanding i know its frustrating with all the hackers running around. some friends are still banned though, such as jurgs. i hope you find that our group is respectable and rule abiding, we really enjoy the server and the competition that is around.

20 year old here from US looking for a group and your pitch sounds very intriguing. I am an honest dude who is just looking to have fun and goof around though I am also very familiar with the game and can get down to business when things get serious. I am pretty experienced in the game and pride myself on my shooting ability and tactical skills which have been groomed from countless hours of CS/dayz/DoD/Rainbow Six/you name it! First of all, figure out where you spawn by looking at the location that pops up in the bottom right corner of the screen when you log in. From there, look at a loot map (google dayz loot map for several options) and find yourself on the map. It becomes much easier when you know where you are and where you are headed. My personal goal when I start a fresh character is to either: 1) go to a barn (high yield) if I'm near one and hope for goodies or 2) enter one of the two huge cities, electro or cherno, and gear up to the point where i can go up north. From there you can raid military locations for the better weapons and hit up barns and deer stands along the way. Zombies are kind of tough to figure out but once you understand their patterns you will be a pro. The goal is to figure out for yourself the minimum distance you must keep from zombies and to make sure that a zombie is not facing your direction while you are trying to get around them. Like it or not, you must go prone if a zombie is looking in your direction. No matter how much cover you are behind or how far away you are, the zombie WILL activate super-sonar and jump your ass. Just go prone and crawl until no zombies are facing you, then come up with the best plan for attack for getting around them until you get a weapon. Stay away from highways and navigate around the map in the forests and you will be minimizing risk. Also, always get inside a building to try and dodge zombies as they are forced to walk. If you need help in the game or are looking for a partner I can help you. My steam id/skype is jordanmrocks
