  1. Could you post a link to this video? I've also seen a wounded survivor hobble around in one of Rockets videos, are there more?
  2. I'm aware that the current version is not final. ;) I just want to get an insight on how you guys like the current wounding system and what you would like to see implemented. Hoping for improvements in the future tough. :beans:
  3. Hi there, I'm playing DayZ SA for over a week now and I must say, I like what I see. The clothing system, new animations, etc. But what kind of makes me go wild is the health/wounding system. First of all, I experienced the following today: I was heading for Balota with the hope to get some more ammunition, since I was nearly dry. Instead, I found three guys who were poppin' some unarmed survivors for no reason. The typically KOS situation. I decided to teach them a lesson. Anyway, one guy was running off the group in the direction of the tower. I got him in my sight, squeezed off a round and he dropped dead to the ground, since I hit his head. Another guy went into the tower and yet another was heading for the hangars. Before he reached them, I was able to place a nice shot directly on his back, with no effect. He was just bleeding from a wound, still able to run away. He just wore a simple t-shirt, so no protection was given against the 5.56x45 round from my M4A1. I don't know if the rounds ingame were hollow-points, full metal jackeds or jacked hollow-points, but either of them would have broken his spinal cord, penetrated a lung, or caused a major blood vessel to burst, maybe even the aorta. The second shot hit his shoulder, but he was still running... What I want to say with this example is, that the wounding system is not very realistic. Getting shot in the chest only requires a bandage and you're fine again. This would maybe be suitable for the moment, but you would need advanced treatment ASAP, since you could suffer from internal injuries and bleedings, causing a deadly sepsis... I would love to see DayZ advance in this area, since it would add alot more dynamic to the game and you would think twice of getting into combat in the first place. Imagine you were shot and are desperately searching for compresses, antibiotics and surgery equipment at the next hospital, or tracking down a bandit you just shot by following his blood trail. Providing a life-saving surgery to your friend, who just got shot a few hours ago... Cutting off a limb to isolate an infection, burning out a wound to stop the bleeding... There are so many possible scenarios... What do you think? Best regards, TheShooter

More intensity - I want to feel the thrill!

Well, this thread is old, but I have some new suggestions, which are fitting into this thread. Since I only was able to see infected farmers, I would think of an implementation of infected children and women, although this can maybe cause some rating problems? There were some situations, where I was standing beside a pond, nearly dying of thirst, but I wasn't able to drink some water because I hadn't a water bottle with me. This tiny things are really frustrating. I would also love to see a stamina system implemented. Nobody can run all day long through the woods with 30+ kg of gear. The pistoldamage is also awkward. For those who don't know yet, you are wearing a MOLLE-vest, not a ballistical west in DayZ. Nobody I know can survive over 10 shots with the caliber 9x18mm (E.g. Makarov) into the stomach. I would improve the whole medical system. A shot to the liver cannot be fixed by simply bandging, an emergency operation would be neccesary in order to survive. (When you are able to fix the liver at all) So pretty every shot in your torso in crucial. I would love to hear your opinions to this post. Best regards, TheShooter

    Stuck at loadingscreen

Solved it, had to update DayZ manually to 1.7.2.5, because Six Updater only got the 1.7.2.4 version. :D

    Stuck at loadingscreen

I got this "Setup Complete" message on the Qatar server, but I didn't get this far on other servers. (have a look on the picture.)
  7. Hi, since today's morning, I'm unable to join any server. I was playing on a Qatar server, but I shut down the game to edit the ATOC settings in the arma2oa.cfg file. After that, I joined on an other server, but I got a new character, my old seemed to be deleted. After one hour, I joined on the Qatar-server, and got back my old character. Weird. After playing 'till darkness, I wanted to join on a different server, but since then I get stuck on the loadingscreen. The game doesn't freeze, I have about 370 frames per second, and I'm able to minimize it. ESC doesn't work. I can't find the Qatar server any more, and now I'm unable to play on any server. I updated my Battleeyeclient manually. For DayZ and Beta configuration, I use Sixupdater. Arma beta Patch: v1.62.95883 DayZ version: v1.7.2.4 I reinstalled Dayz, and the betapatch, but this doesn't solved the problem. Hardware: CPU:I7 920 OC @ 3,6 Ghz GPU:GTX 570 RAM:12 GB DDR3 MB:GA-x58a-ud3r Thank you for your help. :)

Thank you four your feedback, Phineas. I totally agree with you. Good voice acting is very important for the atmosphere. You know, Dayz is on it's way, but the community is here to give some ideas. Thank you! :) Best regards, TheShooter

Mhh, yeah, that would be difficult. But why not implementing an own communication-system, which runs directly on the gameserver, and doesn't require teamspeak? Wouldn't be so difficult, the normal voice chat can get modified. And all can get released with the next DayZ update. So nobody has any issues with installing. :) In my opinion, this would be very useful for the communication between players, and would give the mod more depht. It would be awesome, when this get implemented. Maybe Rocket is reading this right know. Thank you for your reply, TheShooter PS: I would like to hear some more feedback, regarding my first post in this thread. :)

I don't think so. The rolling-animations are already there. (never played arma?) And some more sounds wouldn't be that hard... I would record them by my self if it would be possible. No words... More feedback please! :)
  11. Hello, first of all, I want to say, that I'm in since Operation Flashpoint, and that I play DayZ since april - so I had some very nice moments with this mod. DayZ is an awesome mod, without a question, but I'm here to give some suggestions, to hopefully receive some feedback. I'm a guy, who loves excitement, and the dramatic aspekt of something. I think DayZ is nearer than other games to that, but It's just scratching the surface. Think of a scenario, where a guy shoots another guy in his chest. The victim would roll over the ground, crying and praying to the other guy not to kill him. When you shoot someone in DayZ, he/she is just bleeding, but behaves normal. No real crying, or screaming, 'nor begging for the own life. When you run at night through the woods with some zombies after you, in reality you would probably cry, maybe hyperventilate. No sights in DayZ. When I kill someone in the game, I don't want it to be easy (mentally), I want to hear the other persons screams, and so on. Call me a pervert, but I think that this would increase the athmosphere, and you would maybe think twice, before you kill another player. Killing other players is a part of the game, don't get me wrong. Especially when you run out of supplies, you can't avoid this. But you have to think about, that you're killing a human being for your survival. That is totally fine, but the decision should be that hard, like in reality. Communication is an important thing in DayZ, since it's a social experiment. But sometimes I feel stranded, when I'm trying to contact an other player. Typing something with your keyboard is slow, and it's also taking something away from the athmosphere. I wish I could just scream in my microphone: "Are you friendly or not", rather than typing this with my keyboard. I know, voice chat is already there, but I can't assign a voice from the global channel to a player in the game. Often, when I'm typing, I simply get killed, because I wasn't fast enough. Right now I'm sparing to write, and simply kill the other person, because I dont want to die. I think many other players are thinking the same way, so no real social contact can develope between players. Hearing the localized voice of an other player can lead to confidence, and to no dead people. I would love to see an acre-like communication system implemented. In general, DayZ has the potential to grow to something unique, but I'm missing the (adult) thrill! Think of a real apocalypse, there would happen some terrible crimes, where I don't want to think about... I'm sorry, but my english-knowledge is not enough to express my mind and my feelings right, but I guess you got my idea. I'm also active in game developement (nothing big, just private), and have a sense for things like that. But don't get me wrong, I don't want to tell you what you have to put in the game, I'm just here to give some suggestions, and to deliver my part to the community. My suggestions are maybe not perfect, but the basic approach in DayZ is already there, but a way to weak. I would love to hear your feedback to my post. Thank you for your attention. Greetings from Germany, TheShooter
