It's my first alpha where hackers have run rampant yes. Not blaming Rocket just saying. Have the other alphas been such successful multiplayer games? -
You do realize the logic behind hackers/cheaters actions, right? They want recognition, not necessarily by name, but just reading your angry post will give them hard-on. Instead of raging, just accept this as sad reality of now-a-dayz gaming. Unfortunate, but a part of it. I really do wish all people would just quiet down, and maybe hackers will just stop on their own when they have no negativity to feed on. The ragier you get - the happier hacker will get. Your tears are the fuel for Rocket. Your rage is the fuel for hacker.. Doesnt really rhyme, but thats the key takeaway :)

Your thread is a fine example... of LACK OF DOING THE DUE DILIGENCE! It's very easy, there is a search function on this forum, its hidden on top, right under the logo. Points to: http://dayzmod.com/forum/search.php You type in your query and hit enter, script does magic, shows you results. Seriously, when will people understand, if you believe you have a brilliant idea - check if anyone else maybe already had this brilliant idea, because in most cases ... they did. Your case is embarrassing, because not only were there over 20 threads on this topic, but also this was mentioned as part of the upcoming update by the developers. Come on, get with the program oh.. and yeah.. 'Cool story, bro...' -

Tents are too easy to spot. There should be more ways to hide your gear.

I think right now part of the problem is that tents are impossible to place anywhere other than open fields. If there was a way to stick a tent in the middle of the forest it'd be much better. I am all for idea of other hiding spots. Maybe even be able to make a fire pit, and 'save' items there, you can use it for 'Gear' after you made it anyways :) -

At this point, i would maybe strip down everything. I say up the % of spawning food/water/meds near spawn points, give me an empty character and point me to Berlin. No need to mickey-mouse bull$#!t, make it tough. If not fully stripped, at most make it one of each item, and no backpack. Make them small packs relevant. -

Perhaps vehicle stats? E.g. miles traveled, vehicle life expectancy, vehicles destroyed (accidents vs. Intentional ) As for other stats maybe average headshot/kill ratio? -
I beileve this mod isnt meant to be 'easy'. There shouldnt be a simple way to identify someones intentions. A lot of criminals on the street are not caught because they blend in, ya know? I like rockets idea on the heartbeat identifier. Whatever is going to be implemented needs to be subtle. Not a huge red target on a person -1

I have a fix for that, make sure you stay for multiple saving cycles after you change the clothing. Had switched multiple suits already, still in locations where i logged ;)

I hear you man, in my experience, one of THE most interesting facts about DayZ - it shows true colors of people. I play with a group of folks i've known for a while, and some just recently met. It is very interesting to see the character traits shining through the actions they take :)

I suggested similar idea before the forum wipe, i am totally in agreement. The one addendum i would have though, and this is what i had in my original suggestion - perhaps the 'coast relocation' would have different spawn points from regular spawns. This would lessen the chances of people 'teleporting' to the coast once they're loaded up and want to commit suicide by going to the "hot zone" Lets take it appart piece by piece. I wouldn't view this as a punishment' date=' but as a safeguard. You take it with a grain of salt. If we were to draw a conclusion based on your logic of most are not server hoppers - then most of us would not be affected by this change, as we do not server hop for specific locations Of course they're not, but you are dealing with exploiting that regular MMO would not have, thus the comparison is invalid. You cannot change the servers on MMO's. And if you do 'transfer' the character, you have to transfer in the 'safe zone' anyways. With recent re-introduction of vehicles a lot of players have 'settled down'. Your tents and vehicles dont follow you across servers' date=' so most people already have that one server that is good ping for them, and seem to generally prefer to wait for their server. If anything, i believe OP's idea about the Cherno/Electro campers life being ruined before the 'freshly spawned players'. How comfortable is that camper going to be, if he will know there is a chance that his shot will be heard by the 'high level equipment' wearing people who are in vicinity? With suggestion from Rocket about possible 'spawn without a weapon' you wont be able to engage in PvP right off the bat anyways. As for immunity' date=' also not the best of the concept. If anything was to be done, i would like to see a solution in direction of - a player without a weapon has smaller hitbox. Making it harder to kill that player. Did you see the upcoming patch notes? Includes 5 second timer for logging out ;) Oh it's coming, hehe -

What's your hdr setting? I played around with settings. Post beta patch, with HDR at Highest, you cant see your character/gun... HDR disabled, you get little better vision, not by a LOT but better. Sucks that having higher settings puts you at major disadvantage -

First of all, you got long 20 words, bud. As for suggestion, I don't like your approach. It penalizes you for playing specific way, and promotes carebear lifestyle . While constant DM is frustrating, you are playing an FPS. Psychopaths probably have no problem sleeping at night, as they do not possess same feelings as most of us do. Let the game be as is, no need to be separatist. ;) -

Okay, time for me to jump onto the bandwagon of moaning and complaining... The new update, even though i was looking forward to it... made me upset... Just logged in Turned on flashlight on CCO What i had before, and would like to have.. Could we have at least some silhouettes? What i have right now... is simply un-playable :( I am all for the immersion for the gameplay, for removing of the exploits... However, considering the fact how rare the nightvision goggles are, and how unrealistically dark it gets... This is wrong. What i'm experiencing is a photography dark room... Not even planetarium looks like this... I guess we're back to the idea of - 'play daytime only' :( Edit: Planetarium is daylight bright compared to this... This is bottom of the mineshaft dark :/ -

I believe that there should be an option for the 'help chat' I dont particularly care much for side chat, but i do see a great need for some chat that you could opt in to have/not have, to be able to answer newbie quesitons. How many times have there been "how do i eat?", "how do you bandage?" followed by "someone, please i'm dying, bleeding out... How do i bandage?" and i'm sitting there essentially watching him die over chat, not able to respond, because i have the Beta+1.7 and cannot use that channel anymore :) -

I would love to see an item such as 'sling' added to help with this system. I'm okay with not being able to carry multiple weapons and easily swap them at first. But i would like that option (even if it takes me finding a very rare item) to have a hot swap of the rifles. I mean, if you pull out the pistol, what is the animation? He slings that rifle over the shoulder. In many other Arma mods, there is ability to have multiple rifles at once. As for weapons themselves, original intent, i believe, was that heavy sniper rifles were supposed to take up your backpack space, so you wouldnt even be able to fit it in your backpack, plus you would lose your backpack, as penalty for taking it. (which i am totally fine with, btw) I am with you on the idea of sidearms being shrunk.. there is no reason to have that flashlight/pistol take up half the space of the full sized rifle, when they're about the size of road flares ;) How about the 'vest pouch' acting as your expansion for the magazine/bandage slots, and have you be able to put not only pistol, but rifle mags in there?

I would say make any of the current roadblocks/crashed vehicles possible spawn for loot, mil grade, but not too hardcore. This way you will be curious enough to risk NOT avoiding that wreck in the middle of hot zone ;) -

I had this problem last night. First time i've had it ever. I was using sixlauncher, so everything was synched up with servers i was trying to connect. I have a feeling something was happening on the backend, because the few servers i was able to connect to had two problems, that in past were a tell-tale sign of corrupted DB: 1. Daytime for new joiners, while nighttime for others 2. Items and zombies were not spawning once you approach cities/villages I may be wrong, but this was my observation from before. Like i mentioned before, the times when it happened in the past, it didnt save any of my progress, and would teleport me back to same location i was in when originally logged in :/
