You CAN save them. They are persistent. They stay after server restart (if you saved it) They can be raided by others They can be destroyed by others Car/grenade/pipebomb, any of those items will level the tent. Only thing is, if i'm not mistaken, after restart the tent pops back up, not sure about items inside

As someone before me stated, i agree, bird sounds does seem to be a nice, unobstructive, subtle and elegant way to achieve the goal. No - to notion of only after the player is able to move. I actually believe that you creeping up on someone should have a 5% chance of 'setting off birds'. You have that sound right now absolutely random in the forests, but in reality you could potentially narrow down someone's position by watching where the birds are taking off from ;)

I agree' date=' they cannot. They also have only one life, not infinite 'respawns', so save me, and you time on the lecture of the 'reality'. On that note unless the 'persistence' will assume that your character position is tied to each server, the fact that you have moved across servers and on original server you have "teleported" - is also incorrect. The suggestion i was referring to is actually the lesser of the two discussed, the other option was if you hop the servers you spawn on the beach. [hr'] Since you edited while i was responding, didnt see it with original post. What loophole can you think of, with person being thrown 500m out of the previous location? The fact that they can Alt-F4 and circle back on you? I guess, they can... But not any more than they could've done so with regular server hop -

I personally like other option proposed earlier: If you connect to another server you either spawn in 'safe' (500m from zombies+logout) spot, or altogether on the beach. Promote sticking to same server, and stop this 'tactical advantage via server hopping' bs :) -

It sure does seem there are a lot of 'fix it naow' bugs... And everyone has their own set they would like to have attended to. Perhaps i could recommend the search button? Or i could opt in to follow the example of these peeps, and just create a thread saying 'this is what people need to start doing NAOW!' and in there talk about how underutilized the search function on the forums is :) -

To OP: You seemed to have forgotten what your point was. Title was side chat, but you seemed to have switched your gears and are more upset about bandit skins being gone. 1. Side chat - server option, unlike original intent to have it removed completely, it's up to the server owner. 2. Bandit skins were resulting in racism, not always justified either. If you killed someone in self defense - now you have a big target sign on your head just because someone shot at you first. Current system isnt perfect, but i find it better than previous one. That would require remodeling current models to include the blood stains, which happens to be tedious work -

Personally, its much easier for me to gauge range and adjust the zero of the gun accordingly than attempt to correctly gauge the correct mil-dot. Mil-dot's aren't in increments of 100, they're some strange exponential/log formula that scales with distance. The first mil-dot is something like 100~, the next is like 330~, etc. Targets at range are generally never standing up, they're either crouched or prone behind cover. Much harder to figure out the ratio, at least for me. For guns like the AS50/CZ, the zero-ing is essential to my success. But that's just me. This preference makes the CZ550 preferrable to a DMR. You, sir, need to get your hands on the SVD rifle. Built in range finder for both, standing and prone personnel :) As for OP... Your statement has as much fallacy in it as the posts that follow. By attacking with no merit, you are inviting the attacks on your post/character. To each his own, you hate those presets, others think the general veteran ones dont go far enough. Unless you get your own server, i would suggest compiling a list of servers with settings you like, and sticking to them. -

Server: US1 Location: Catwalk of the lighthouse between Prigorodki and Electrozavodsk What happened: Could not aim down the sights, decided to go prone for good shot position. When hit prone button character started running and jumped, fearing he will fall off, turned to the side. Cracking sound, and death screen followed right away. It's frustrating to break your bones from turning when near the walls/rocks/etc, but breaking your neck from a simple turn is a bit too much :) More info available if needed

I think the idea was that you're here to survive.. So you take items with you deemed necessary. Lets face it, 'realistically' morphine inst going to do jack for your broken bones. Now, i know that the bone breaking feature is broken itself (you can break yourself, and even kill yourself by walking into tiniest of the rocks/walls). But nevertheless, lets leave 'reality' out of this. I actually dont mind all that much the way its designed right now, you have high chance of bleeding, smaller chance of shaking from pain or having your bones broken. So therefore, you should carry high number of bandages, and smaller number of painkillers and morphine. If you will have very small chance of bleeding/broken bones from zombies - you will remove their threat. Right now, it's scary to be caught by multiple zombies when you have limited ammo, or are in a high danger zone. Because you might not be able to get out alive from that encounter (experienced that last night, i ran away from them, but at a price of half my blood). Game is meant to be challenging, not a walk in a park. -
+1 wanted this for quite some time. would be awesome to have. cover the vehicle with it. only caveat I would add is that it should take say 10 seconds to deploy, and if not original person removing should take 20 seconds to remove. this includes dying, as you're no longer "original" person ;)

Make sure that: A. You're using six launcher, not update, one has all arms mods, second only DayZ B. In settings for SU, you have option for beta selected Also, keep in mind that it updates to the server you have selected, so select a server with latest patches to.have it work. -

I had test this, and the reason it seems to happen is if you run non-beta version of Arma, with 1.7 (or above) patch, you will have this. You cannot use items (right click disabled), you will be ejected out of the vehicles, all of your actions will be erased when you log off, you will be invisible to others, and have no hud. Easiest way to check, log in the way you do now, run somewhere+change up items, log out, and log back in, you will spawn in same place with original items. Easiest fix - install six updater and use it to launch the game. -
AFAIK it's a server thing. I don't have beta and on some servers it seems to never become really dark. But that's just IMHO. Nope, not server side, it is the patch. The patch makes the brightness/gamma exploit irrelevant, as i believe it pretty much caps it. The nights are SUPER dark now with Beta patch. The unfortunate thing is, you are at a very big disadvantage playing nights against players who dont have the patch, until it'll be made mandatory. But it does make flares/glowsticks relevant again, which is awesome

Let me guess, United States, Texas? Or any other middle of US state of residence? I can assure you that even on the coasts of US, and especially in Europe a LOT of families dont own a single firearm. Statistics for US, about 10 years back, were that US has enough firearms to arm every child to senior citizen with two sidearms and a long gun. But that doesnt mean that all people actually have that. Myself, i have 7 long guns and two hand guns, some of my friends have just one or two long guns, most of my friends have NO guns. In Europe, the gun control is MUCH more strict, so most people actually dont have access to firearms. You cant generalize to this extend just because the people you know all have firearms, you have to get samples from more than just one location ;)
