what is a 'okay' time to wait befor retrying then? untill you see the lovly debug forest or a few mins? i normaly wait around 5-10 mins or so if nothing happens then (or if i happen to rech a lovly little forest) i reconnect, either trying another server or the same (a bit different) as i play the game in window mode and i got 2 screens i can just do something else while i wait. but ofc some of my friends (and me sometimes) are a bit inpatient but without knowing, well anything we well cant know anything. as i have no idea how a server really work even less about the hive and such i have no idea what it really means when you get stuck in the "waiting for server respones" but ofc atleast now i know i shouldnt connect spam and ofc i will not do that. and ofc i will tell my friends to not do that too and direct them to this thread if so. i was just curious how long you should wait befor its okay to re-try? no one likes waiting but i rather wait a few mins and get to play then to not play at all. also this is the first i ever heard about this, as we (me and my friends) are not aware of how the servers work or what they do we had no idea what so ever. however we have either way noticed that jumping form server to server does actelly mean that in a rather short time you find a server you get on instantly, there for it is not insanity as we all know that has worked befor and still do... which we will not do anymore now that we know what it actelly does but for the avarage user, we cannot know something unless someone tell us or we look it up ourself. we are not psychic and we cannot read minds.

go slow, take it easy and crawl, easiest way if you dont wanna alert any zombies, while you lay down and crawl you can get REALLY close without alerting them but it does take a long time to get anywhere that way. but its either that or get chased(and die) when im in a down i always walk crouched if nothing else (holding or dubble tapping shift) unless ofc i feel lazy and take the bigger risk and may die. which ofc is only my own problem if i do (ushally)

Im not sure this is the right place for this little story but we will see. So yesterday me and some friends (we were 4 in total) was playing together, we just started playing a few days ago and got a hang of the basics really. we had found ourself some weapons atleast, we had a CZ, a Winchester and i had a Lee Enfield. it was in the middle of the night, couldnt see anything but we figured, lets go explore some places we havent been befor. So we ran up in to the montains from between cherno and elektro against pusta. so there we all 4 were, 3 of us carrying either a flare or a chemlight running on the mountain and talking on skype just having fun. then all the sudden one of us yells "i passed out!" first we just thougt, well we ran a while mby he passed out cuz of that? then we saw, oh no he was killed. we instantly threw or extinguished our flares/chemlights and tried to hide, he got my other 2 friends so there i was. all alone, in the middle of the night on a hillside in the middle of no where and somewhere in the dark there was a bandit. i was crawling around trying to see him, sneaking around hoping for the best while all the rest were dead. i suddenly saw his name at my crosshair and aha! i could see him. i shot him once and he disappered, i saw i didnt have a kill so i couldnt have killed him, i moved around a bit as i figured he was hiding behind a tree or something. i found him again while he was trying to stop the bleeding and i shot him once more and killed him. so now i was completely alone in the dark, all my friends had respawned and when i tried to loot him it lagged and i lost my backback and his was gone, no water or food not much ammo, 3 chemlights and no idea of where i was.
