Becoming your typical FPS PvP game?

Problem is from what I see people saying, is that a "survivor marathon" is boring for the case of some people as they just walk around, sometimes shooting a zombie if they see him (also giving away your location at times.), and collecting food and water then waiting to go hungry/thirsty/cold. As for the helpers, you're suspecting yourself to be shot by the same players helping you because usually, no one can trust anyone to get close enough unless they actively say it. Bandit hunter is something cool to do but it's difficult and near-impossible to tell a bandit unless you are close enough to hear it or they have a sniper rifle. Some people want an incentive to do something after they have acquired all they need. It doesnt always have to be "risk it all for small activities that wont always come my way."

    Why this mod is failing

There just has to be an incentive to the game, especially towards snipers. Perhaps if you snipe a zombie, they will not respawn in the town as fast giving you more time to scout around. Perhaps if the goal was to travel to a safe place of the game where you can actually "survive" or win the game and just start all over with a bonus design of characters or looks (Think of the game Journey.) One thing is for sure though, and it's that zombies aren't worth a bullet to the face or the health I lose from swinging my axe next to em compared to what players are worth. I ran into six dead players in Cherno, and managed to loot a rifle, soda and sardines, lotsa ammo for guns I dont need, blood bag, revolver, and an ALICE pack in a snap from them. What they died from was probably themselves. Get me zombies that provide good ammo, food, water, or even a ranged weapon if I hit em with an axe or something, and I may have more of a reason to go on a lollipop chainsaw massacre.

Name your good deed of the day.

If only karma could rub off people in this game, heh.

Ouch. Seems a bit scary to know that anyone right next to you that you're working with can be dead next second. Or worse, you be dead next second.

Did you do it to save someone else?
  6. Fefe (DayZ)

    We need a purpose.

I think we should have a place to go to. Like, since we start on the coast if we manage to get to the far northwest point we can get to see our character walking off the distance into a new, perhaps safer, location (Saying we survived...?) But I also don't think that would be optimal. As it means people would get lucky building cars and just zipping straight ahead, or people at the edge of the end point just sniping others wishing to go past.
  7. Today on this sunday just five minutes ago, I was sprinting around looking for a gun of any kind cause I'm a new player and dont really know where to go for what. I found a chicken and tried to continueously hit it with my axe to no avail but it led me to a large building warehouse-like place where I went inside and found a player crawling and saying help help. Apparently he was crippled and asked if I could help. Fortunately I came across a grocery store-like place where I took Morphine (Not blood bags since I couldn't use them on myself from what I tried.) And gave him what he needed to save him. He thanked me and I went offline since I was about to eat anywho. So. Whats your good deed of the day?
  8. From my two days of playing DayZ I have managed to learn how to evade zombies by crawling around and also was plotting with three other strangers to build a car only to be shot by other people taking us as enemies. I feel like it would be simpler for me and others who wish to survive by having a feature that puts our hands up. When we wish to return to weapon mode then we could have an animation of us getting out our weapon slowly to show that we're going for our weapon.
