Just north of Pusta a friend and I stumble across a guy with a flare. We're situated on the highland amongst the trees. My friend has an AKM, I have a M24 (An AKM in my pack for emergencies). I provide cover scoping the town and the nearby trees for any movement fearful that he could have friends with him and also conscious that we're close to the coastline. My friend sneaks up on the poor sod and drops him with a few rounds of AK before looting the corpse. I continue to scan and after two minutes or so I see movement. One survivor running between the trees enticed by the gunfire and the flare. I aim for his head and am about to pull the trigger when behind him I see a female survivor. The two stop and look at each other and are discussing where to head next. They are obviously a couple and they are carrying some pretty nice packs and weapons. I aim at the guy, I fire and hit, he goes down bleeding. I quickly aim at his comrade who is motionless with shock but I hesitate on the trigger and she runs. 'Fuck' I think, i'm still rusty. I move my scope back to the bleeding guy. I consider going for the body but I wait. 5 minutes or so later I see the female crawling towards her lovers corpse, I have my scope on her, she is looking to find where I am but can't see me and so she sits waiting to see if I will come loot his corpse. Over the chat I hear the guy begging for help, his leg broke and bleeding badly. I wait... she moves to try and heal her mate and then a shot rings out. She drops with a bullet to the head and then I aim at the man again. Should I finish him....? No I leave him to bleed out....

Hey I'm trying to redownload DayZ after a nightmare scenario and im using the installer but everytime I get stuck at Extracting files from : dayz_v1.2.5.rar..... It just stays like that and nothing happens even though everything before takes about 20 seconds. I even left it for 3 hours once but nothing happened. I've tried every mirror. Any advise?? Dude I have the same issue... Working fine then updated fine but it kicked me off everyone and then I tried redownloading DayZ after deleting the current stuff and now the download gets stuck on extracting the files for the dayz_sfx_v1.1.1.rar..... I tried leaving it for hours but it never did anything and after about 5 times of redownloading it, it finally solved it and downloaded. If I was you delete all the stuff in the OA @DayZ Addons folder and then redownload DayZ.

Erm... just thinking out loud... why don't you guys form a group?

We know that zombies don't have the best senses but what about their smell? Now i'm not saying add a 'smell' indicator which forces people to wash but could we not simply have that if your bleeding it adds an extra bar to the hearing and sight indicators to count for the fact zombies can smell the blood and so your more detectable?? Just a passing thought really.... that and refounding the Chernarussian Movement for the Red Star.

Was at the Balota Air Field and had scavenged and found an AK. While doing this I hear shots in the distance and then see a survivor running straight at me in my warehouse with around 20 zombies chasing him. I consider shooting but I am unsure if he or the zombies have seen me so sneak out and begin to run towards the forest. He sees me and runs after me. He chases me for a good 10 minutes through the forest with a load of zombies chasing him and then I begin to hear Makarov rounds whizz past my head and hit the trees around me. I turn with my AK, bring it up and drop him and then run for it. He gets swarmed and eaten, I become a bandit, I loot his corpse and then begin down a very dark road....
