    Private hive with active admins til standalone. Public hive is screwed. Even devs say so.

    If they talk in side chat turn down VON in audio settings. If they troll you in direct chat they are usually within shooting range. Never had trouble with that. Just don't fire a Enfield or any sort of rifle while talking. ^^

    Direct Chats reach is limited as it is. I'm not sure how far it is though. If anybody on the server can hear you and complains about it, stop fucking talking in side chat!

    DayZ is better without thermals. Period. It would be ok though if they are really rare.

    Standalone definitely will get a melee system. You can't have a zombie game without! Museums, castles or some medieval nerds basement. There's a lot of people training in medieval martial arts just for fun and therefore have the respective equipment.

    Have you searched for Arma2-Servers or only DayZ? My Google Fu found 2 things. Peripheral dots are turned off with difficulty "veteran" and there is a bug with changing the settings. http://guides.gamepressure.com/dayz/guide.asp?ID=15601 https://dev-heaven.net/issues/6406 Arma2 is now 3 years old. There should be documentation provided by the creators. If not, they should get kicked in the butt.

    The Ak-74s fire 5.45 bullets which are roughly equivalent to 5.56 STANAG. The AK-47 and the latest version of it, the AKM, fire 7.62 x 39, which has a little more punch than both.

    The only skin that get's shot at less is the ghillie...and that's only if you stay down in grass. The whole skin changing thing is retarded and should be gone with custom clothing.

    It's natural to be pissed. It would be reasonable to get over it quickly. Especially regarding stuff around the internet where people are double the assholes they normally are and options are limited. Btw, his cactus is still allright. Nobody really touched it. Let's have it right there. That is my point from the beginning...and all the "reasoning" of the others haven't moved a bit as well. This discussion obviously leads nowhere. If he gets over himself he's free to whitlist me again. A short notification would be nice. If not I'll just play somewhere else. No big deal. Have fun!

    Ambient sounds should be used very very carefully! DayZ is not supposed to be some horror flick. Sounds of crying children should only be where children are crying. That would be side chat. The wind sound is great. Adds to the immersion an is plausible. The children not.

    I could empathise more if he wouldn't have de-whitelisted me. I thought he was a nice guy but my picture of him has changed drastically. He poses himself as the one and only righteous super admin, who can't entrust his precious Mod to others, and who never would misuse admin powers and the like and the first thing he does to somebody telling him the plain and simple truth is practically banning and ignoring. Pretty lame. I was just typing a cynic piece of him beeing to emotionally fragile for this world respectively the internet...but what the heck? Good night.
