  1. Not noob. Just lame. ^^ At least if you cling to it like little girl to her teddybear.
  2. But I care if other players do not drop 3rd person because of that influence on my playstyle. What you once again fail to understand is that your choice has impact on other players and their choice. No one cares what you do alone in your bed under your blanket at night. But if you use perks of a vision mode in situations where you shouldn't then others might care about that.
  3. It also works without 3rd person view. But you can't really let go of 1st person because the fighting part would just suck balls as well as you would have to cut out the "sim". There's no role play in DayZ unless you make one for yourself. It is YOUR story. Not some avatars aka role. It is not abandoned. Most players use a combination of both views. You keep making the same (mostly) invalid points over and over again.
  4. He makes a good point. Players are beeing spoiled by more or less arcade style shooters or other bullcrap of that same kind.
  5. There's no tradeoff if you can switch quickly enough.
  6. It will affect you. You will have split community with split servers. And people will be soft forced to play on 3rd person hive by some of their teammates like it is the case often enough right now. Maybe you can live with that effects, abut it will affect all of us some way.
  7. Shades of grey. Probably more than fifty...
  8. FPV is not broken. It should get some refinement maybe, but you can play perfectly with it alreay. Just increasing the frames per second would do wonders because usually you compensate for the lack of FOV with quick turns. If you can play with a 3 monitor setup and maybe something like TrackIR with decent framerates and it would be just awesome.
  9. Dude, if you'd actually tried we wouldn't be on page 68.
  10. That will happen for sure, but at least they will have to go to hardcore land to get the stuff. Something like entering a danger zone i.e. an airfield. If they then go back to lower difficulty servers I wouldn't care because I'd avoid those anyway. They should also automatically adjust loot to a lower tier if there are less than 10 players on the server or something because going to NWAF on a completely abandoned server is nothing like hardcore.
  11. This might be a possible nerf for TPV but I guess TPV folks won't like it.
  12. It enables and encourages lame tactics. Players using lame tactics are lame. I don't want to play with lamers. That's the sole reason. Everything else doesn't really matter.
  13. FPV only is part of the difficulty setting. So TPV enabled is no hardcore. Period! You want the good stuff? Go to hardcore land with hardcore rules!
  14. Discussion wise there's only 2 guys left argueing for TPV. Both do it really badly and in such a manner that my despise of this certain kind of DayZ player is confirmed. There's no point in further argueing with them. Any point made missed them entirely. They don't want to give in so it will never happen. DayZ players are split into two base camps on PvP: the ones seeking PvP and the ones avoiding it. They are als split into two base camps on 3rd person view. I believe PvP'ers are the same as 1st person players and therefore the 3rd person lovers belong to the PvP-avoiders. I'm not sure that it is possible to really cater to both crowds at the same time respectively the same game.
  15. A method to get players to adapt to a higher difficulty setting would be to have like 3 settings: noob, regular, hardcore Hardcore means FPV only, almost no HUD and everything minimal but you would find the best loot only on those servers. So for example on a regular server the best weapon to find might be an AK or M4 variant, on noob maybe shotguns and an Enfield or Winnie. Other loot classes similar. So there would be an incentive to go into hardcore land maybe a good feeling afterwards of having survived there.
  16. You go away! Play some RPG! You dumb. That's not a question. The only problem in this thread is your trolling.
  17. Simple. Carebears want TPV. They don't fight. So they don't care about having a fair fighting system. Don't need one if you stick to low pop servers and never meet someone.
  18. When I peep through a hole I want to see tits and not Zeds!
  19. I absolutely do not wonder. We might even ditch that phony "...it's a survival simulator..." thingy. It's not. Your mama's freshly filled fridge is only steps away. You don't feel any actual hunger. Nobody is threatening to kill you. The hardest you will encounter while playing DayZ is having to piss and not be able to log out. In the beginning of DayZ the world was unknown and therefore a threat. That moment is gone. The world has been figured out quite well. The only challenge left is other players. Of course this doesn't concern you if you are not looking for a real challenge which is the case for large portions of the DayZ playerbase.
  20. I don't believe in PvP through boredom. Hence DayZ is sort of a FPS people go there because they want to fight. Fighting is fun. The problem is rather rooted in the fact that they don't find anyone worth shooting so they just shoot anything.
  21. The FPV camp is not the one living in denial. DayZ already is a FPS. It has barely any roleplaying elements. Go back to page 1 of this thread, read every post carefully again until your reading skill has improved! See it as a quest like in a role playing game. But don't switch to 3rd person while doing that! I have the feeling you do that and it gives you Reading -20 points.
  22. Probably not. BF or CoD players would want to shoot each other and don't mind about not having TPV. This would be a anon-issue if not large portions of the DayZ players would recruit from the PvE camp. They complain about KoS mentality, lack of skill trees and other role playing mechanics they miss.
  23. Then force your victims by gunpoint. ^^
