Seriously, they get a little crap to respawn with? Where's the big deal? And what's with that traffic routing conspiracy theory? There's no ads on zombies.nu. Don't even know about the other. Btw, traffic costs money as well. As I see it those guys just don't want anybody to fuck around with their idea of the game. That might be hypocritical because they did the exact same thing but whatever. From a mere players perspective they do a good job. I don't need server files to be free but I need a decent player experience.

Interesting. Or is it?

Well, obviously it was technically not a problem to change stuff for DayZero while not touching DayZ or Arma 2. Going for a SA sure was the right thing to do, but quite obviously there was a lot to do for the mod as the community proved after sort of forcing them to do by themselves. And you constantly bring up the money issue. I just don't see where the big money is in DayZero. That little donating for starter package thingy that only goes on for like half of the servers? How much money can you make like that you think?

My question was who makes these rules if not BIS? Seems like it was technically not much of a problem to achieve some things.

Not looking at it would be actually wise. No time wasted for something neither really needed and probably impossible to really fix. But they will have to do something and if it's only for political reasons because folks now are so used to TPV they really would have withdrawal syndrome if chopped. So what hopefully will happen is that TPV will neutered in something that barely can be exploited...and most won't want to use anymore. Then I'd say "Oh! Your dog is dead? But you can keep it." ^^ -

The way people argument here really makes me feel superior. Not to people in general but in relation to those fellas. What am I supposed of thinking of folks clinging to something in many other games is not even remotely considered like girls to their teddy bears? It's pathetic. Picking on smaller guys always is fun and boosting one's self esteem. -

I don't have that much emotions involved as you might think. The ones really losing are the people playing a game mickey mouse style. You don't care? Well, I wouldn't miss playing with your kind anyway. But for now I have a wall to put tapestry on. 1st person only! Like the cool guys do it. -
No. He means peeking over things when prone for example. Just like leaning. Actually a good idea. I'd want that too.

I agree with you in the part that it's a shame the community can't fill enough 1st person only servers. But obviously it is not that easy as to say "We gonna save the world" and just do it. Obiously there are not enough players in the same area at the same time who are delibaretly NOT joining 3rd person enabled servers for some reason with a few exceptions. Those exceptions include a fork of DayZ (DayZero), which can be viewed as sort of a built communitiy. Seems like you have to provide the right circumstances for FPV servers to thrive or at least funnel the FPV only fans. That is somewhat sad. Given the (bad) effects of the exploitability of 3rd person view there seems to be the need to enlighten more players about these and make them want to play more 1st person only. How do you do that when the crowd is like "Fuck you! I wanna play the game like I want!" or "What? There's issues with 3rd person view? Don't see any."? Well, we hope to get through to Rocket and make him like "Fuck you! You're gonna play the game like I want!". -

Do you think we can make it to page 100? Don't want to call it a day before we reach 3 digits. Where's Ken Bean when we need him? -

Now you suggest I didn't. You're suggesting a lot. I feel you could be better at that compared to the amount of suggesting you do. Anything on topic you would suggest? I'm not the topic by the way. -

I don't suggest anything. I say it outright. And I've never used a message board to find servers. I use server browsers for that. I think that's more intelligent. -

Well, dumb admins attract dumb players and the other way round. Dumb players on dumb servers will produce more of dumb because new players learning to play on dumb servers with dumb players will bound to be dumb too and there goes the neighborhood. There was a reason admin power was very limited in the beginning of DayZ. And choice doesn't help if there's only foul apples. -

I don't know any other game where choosing a server is that hard as in DayZ. -

The exploits of TPV probably can't be fixed without making it undesireably even for enthusiasts. Losing in the market share means not much choice left for us. If you'd really get the arguments against TPV you should at least feel ashamed every time you use the Enter key. -

And as already explained that causes trouble when having a mixed crowd. Right now the community isn't acutally split because the FPVers give in most of the time. One of the reasons they are not happy. -

Went to a restaurant. Had a meal. Drove an hour back home. Never switched to TPV once. I'm hardcore 4 life! -

I guess some sort of encumbrance system has to be implemented in DayZ anyway which would have you recover from long runs and other stuff. -

Yes, mostly because of framerates. With enough fps you could quickpeek left and right as you do in other FPS games to compensate for the limited FOV. With less than 20 fps, as pretty normal in major settlements in DayZ, that feels horrible. As I stated in that other thread, "hardcore" implies some sort of significantly more than average quality of involvement in the respective activity. A casual poker player is not considered hardcore by anyone. If you really play a lot and make serious money from it that changes. -
No matter what or where "hardcore" implies some sort of significantly more than average quality of involvement.

Well, it's only "hardcore" because it's running like shit. But you are right. It's more like using 3rd person view is softcore. 1st person view only should be considered the normal thing. -

There's no BS. Playing FPV only is MORE "hardcore" than using TPV (for personal comfort or exploiting...whatever). TPV was implemented for personal comfort. Viewpoints may vary due to no universal definition of the term "hardcore" but restricting oneself to use FPV only in DayZ is somewhat hardcore to me. The majority of players seem to avoid that at all cost mostly because of personal comfort. For me it's pretty obvious who to call more hardcore...
