I believe this not be accidental. Just wait for the guys to implement this type of compass...

To point out that you can't take out FP in a FPS sort of game. It's like saying "You love TPV so much, you sure won't need anything else...do you?" *evil grine* FPV is the basis. The core. TPV is an addition you don't actually need. It's simply a crutch to get around the problems present technology has with presenting virtual environments. If we could link us into the matrix nobody wouldd even try to discuss something like 3rd person perspective. Nobody would even care about 3PP. The whole discussion seemed moot, but it had some effect. 3PP:off seems to be a popular choice for server owners at present. Nonetheless 3PP should be fixed to something at least decent as well as 1PP should be improved as much as possible. If both is done right there won't be any need for seperate hives anymore.

From what I hear about SA 1st person only servers have become quite popular. More and more players get aware of the issues with enabled 3rd person and act accordingly. That is quite pleasing and has given me back some hope for humanity.

The rifle fires 5.56 NATO STANAG as the M4 and should have similar ballistics.
-
From all TPV lovers argueing here, you are by far the most retarded.
-
It sure would be fun to see how well TPV lovers would fare without 1st person.
-
Remove zoom then. If that stops the bitching about disabled 3rd person I'd gladly take it.
-
So this is how you stop server hoppers/farmers

Loot should spawn absolutely random. Every other system is somewhat predictable and therefore exploitable. -
The zoom thingy doesn't break the common sense of combat. So it can stay as far as I'm concerned.
-
No problem for them. They can populate their servers. ^^
-
Probably trying to make this a dumpster thread.
-
Btw,...once again...Rocket already is aware of the issue. He confirmed that 3rd person view is a problem and promised to deal with that. However he won't remove it entirely but is trying to fix it into something both sides can live with. At least he promised that.
-
More and more people previously oblivious to the matter got educated by these discussions and are able to see the point. Most players haven't been aware that there's a problem with having 3rd person view enabled and therefore just used it casually because it's there and everybody did so as well. I didn't really care about the issue for a long time myself simply because I wasn't aware. Hopefully more people will see the light.
-
He should have been able to use his common sense to deal with the situation instead of adapting ridiculous manners because of some ridiculous game mechanic.
-
That's true. Nobody choses servers like that. You'd be waiting alone for a long time and nobody wants that.
-
You're mixing two things here that shouldn't be mixed. Another example of really bad argueing. Now let's be honest! Wouldn't you love to dictate those evil KoS'ers to not beeing dicks? Wouldn't you love that? Come on! You know you'd love that. You got a hard on right now thinking of it, don't you?
-
Why read this fucking thread? Oh, you didn't...
-
TPV itself is no exploit. The use of it in PvP combat comes close to something like exploiting and people tend to use terms losely...just as yourself. And there is no "own servers" or "refusal". There's just not enough populated FPV only servers to be called even remotely satisfying. Reasons have been provided generously in this thread already.
-
You better be done argueing because you're really bad at it. It has nothing to do with the lack of self control. FPV advocates readily give up the perks of having TPV under the condition everyone else does too. You can't just ignore TPV when virtually everybody else is exploiting it's advantages...and those advantages are major. That's why it's considered exploiting by many though it technically isn't.
-
No,you didn't. Your point was bad and is essentially the same as "everybody can use it, so it's fair". This is not relevant. The point is TPV makes combat weird and implausible which detracts from the gaming experience of all users, most of them not even realizing.
-
*sigh* The argument is that TPV enabled makes combat completely ridiculous and common sense breaking. TrackIR doesn't. It just enhances the gaming experience of the respective user like having a really good gaming mouse with extra knobs'n'shit or a extra joystick for flying helicopters or the like. Btw, there's the FaceTrack(No)IR-Software free of charge. You only need a compatible webcam. http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm Use it! You won't regret and I'll give you my blessings. Now once again, even Rocket stated that having 3rd person view enabled is problematic. So it's kinda offical. It's also kinda official that 3rd person won't be removed entirely. So there's no need for you guys to be afraid. No one in this world would be able to stand the mother of all bitchings which would follow the removal of 3rd person view from DayZ. Jesus himself would go like "Fuck that shit! I'm out."
-
Another really bad argument from the TPV lovers. Nobody will keep you from getting one or some alternative yourself. There's even a software just needing a webcam to achieve similar results. Everyone should use this kind of enchancement because it's awesome. It improves your gaming experience significantly.
-
World won't end. Just another game will be ruined by bad taste of the masses while the same lot flames CoD players for theirs.
-
You Sir, are wrong. It has PvP and it hast first person view. So please stop lying to yourself.
-
Well, at least you would find out pretty quickly. In my experience, most people can, if they have to. It's no bigger deal than any other FPS game...ok...maybe a little. FPV in Arma2 and DayZ just doesn't feel as smooth as in other games. But I guess that could be fixed.
