Should we remove barbed wire in the next update
Gumpnstein replied to mattlightfoot's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Umm, why are we still dealing with barb wire topics. lol Its sept, like 2 months from stand alone release and we are talking about barb wire being removed, This was a topic in May? You sure you guys got this stand alone thing under control? -
Where are the 1200000 players?
Gumpnstein replied to Nille (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
They all quit. The mod only got worse as it moved forward, coupled with hacking, graphic glitches, and duping. They are still trying to figure out what to do with barb wire. This was an issue in like late May. We spent like 40,000man years testing the game and they are still trying to figure out what to do with barb wire lol.- 19 replies

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkrCSn2X5Rg&list=UUErnHpoBRtK3duzwvJbqzqQ&index=1&feature=plcp This was our first attempt to play. We change up the rules in the next round but it was fun and if you have enough people I suggest you give it a try. 2 people hunting and the rest hiding is also more fun.

Sounds great man. Everyone understands that you guys have a lot on your plates with the stand alone and we want the stand alone to be a success. You guys said you wanted to continue support for the mod and it looks like you are going to continue that. The chatter has been that people just wanted a one sentence line that let them have a round about idea of what is going on with the mod. I think you guys may find it pretty impressive how far a simple post like this will go with the mod community. Thanks and good luck with the patch and the development of the game.

Yeah we started at some point turning gamma and stuff up. Every time we have ever cut a corner in dayz though it has taken so much away from the game that we played at the beginning...
-
yeah it was fun

So I posted a thread the other day and it got little bit of attention. So let's call this part 2 and a follow up to that. The Dayz staff gave an update saying that the new patch would be out after or around the 6th of Sept. The forum admin I wrote about in my previous article then opened the forum back up, and said let the flood gates open. And the dayz staff got flooded with thank you's from everyone. See. It's all people wanted. Now was that so damn hard?

Mod reached it's peak... See ya in full game
Gumpnstein replied to FrostDMG's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Can't wait to hear the crap they spew when the stand alone gets here. If my guy sneezes the wrong way I'm going to bitch and say "its not an alpha anymore"! -
Mod reached it's peak... See ya in full game
Gumpnstein replied to FrostDMG's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The peak was really at 1.7, each patch after seemed worse and worse. We are near the end of the mod more than the beginning of the downside of the peak. Hacking broke the peak, graphical glitches pushed it further down and no communication choked it to death. But one good patch and some hackers getting bored will prove for a fun ride towards the stand alone. -
And if you have not read my previous posts I said that the standalone is not an excuse for anything. They could have said support for the mod has ended, they said it continued, so no When a development team tells a community they will continue support for the mod then at that point they owe continued support. And its not self entitlement if they promise something. They owe the community patches. People still purchase Arma 2 directly because they believe that the mod will be supported. If they say that the mod is no longer supported, 90% of the sales for Arma 2 over the next two months will end. So if they don't want to support it, fine, stop supporting it and focus on the stand alone. If they do then let people know whats up when it's nearly a month without any word. But obviously then plan on supporting the mod since they released some news about this sept 6th lose date. So people are now owed a patch and are expecting one sometime soon after the 6th of Sept. And yes if its the 20th of Sept when it comes then people will be pissed and rightly so.

A latest post from the "Forum Admin" says that he will run it by Rocket that we would like a hotfix for a few issues. And he adds that if we comment and ask properly that Rocket may even enjoy giving us updates. This has been a recurring attitude that somehow because the mod doesn't make money that the dev team is somehow giving us something free and we should all be thankful for that. A recurring theme that seems like Rocket hates this process or perhaps his job? Maybe he will enjoy giving us updates? Well maybe if you speak to the community like a half ass professional I will enjoy giving you my money for the stand alone that the mod that we have tested, advertised, and brought the world of gamings attention to has built up to the point that it is going to make millions of dollars. If you guys are so oh we don't need to do this if we don't want to. Go ahead, show us those balls of steel and just drop the entire project. Don't release the stand alone and show us all who's the big bad boss man here. Go ahead. I got a feeling that there is about 30 million reasons at least that you release that game and you'll enjoy every penny. The mod is finished? Fine, time to start treating us like future consumers!

My attitude? The same attitude that is assumed everyone who wants some idea of whats going on with a mod has? Yet they get a post saying that it will def be after sept 6th and that was enough for them and contrary to the so called "attitude" 90% of the community including myself are suppose to have, the actual attitude is a bunch of Thanks You's. And if you were a sub of mine you would know my attitude is if you don't want to be here then have a nice day.

Well be patient and go back read the Original Post. It is talking about the treatment of those who are looking for questions, and as usual gets the topic changed by that "group" that does what they do. I don't play Dayz anymore and have not since almost 4 weeks ago. Once again read the original post about me speaking out in defense of others that have been getting yelled at for voicing concerns about the mod being supported after it was clearly said it would be.
-
Nothing has been obvious throughout this process besides the fact that if you posted a topic that is anti- anything, you get yelled at.
-
Cut us off. That is better than letting us hang on to empty promises and getting bashed for it. Ive said this numerous times. End the mod, fix the mod, but let people know something.

The State of the Game and Why a Once "Addict" Has Moved On
Gumpnstein replied to Icus's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
A bunch of words. People are tired of you people. To the OP. I quit 4 weeks ago, .5 patch came out and i logged in didn't do anything but make things worked. Logged off and quit again. Came back today to see if anything changed. I feel ya dude. -
I get as does every Youtuber who has committed to Dayz emails every day of people saying that they bought the game because of our videos. Hate that or not. Its a fact.
-
Every problem? People just want a damn answer about a estimated timeline if ever the mod will be playable. no one is asking for much. and this topic was at the beginning about getting treated like shit for asking such

I'm tired of seeing the people of this community ripped at every turn for voicing an opinion, forgive me if I'm tired and unmoved by the poor rocket cry. And I didn't say anything about taking someone to court. I simply said that they promised something therefore they owe something to those who are participating or intend to buy Arma 2 on the assumption that there is to be continued support for the mod. Admin said that he promises that an update is coming and that is the best thing and only thing Ive heard in weeks from anyone on the matter. So I guess after 1200 views and 80 posts some of these people wanting answers got one finally., Win one for the Dayz community for a change

Yeah sorry there were a lot of posts and I got busy here at home. Yeah there was a post where someone replied like right under you and it was not you, sorry about the misunderstanding there. I agree with what you say that we may not be owed a certain amount of time. Having said that though, the problems we are experiencing have been going on for 2 months. But I must remind everyone that I'm not here to complain. I quit playing until a patch that fixed graphical bugs and other problems came out. So I handled my problem by stopping my playing. I came here today and looked to see if there was a hint of an update and saw people being trashed talked for asking and wondering why it has taken a month to fix something that was not broken in a previous version.

Somehow I get the feeling you are pulling stuff out of the thin air...Is your BA even real?! Are you even 32?! o_O [/quote What are talking about. You failed to notice my channel is 3 months old. I never said I was a bigshot. I never said I was going to give Dayz a bad review. I have been commenting on attitudes toward community members for asking for what was told they would be given which is support for the mod. And for those who say the dev team owes no one anything I can't disagree more. They have stated and advertised this mod as something that they are planning on adding features to, fixes, and have said they would continue support for the mod. That my friends is a voiced promise to perform an action and people continue to buy Arma2 owned by Bohemia whom the developer of this mod works for as they believe that the mod is still being taken care of. To be honest I think one could prob have a nice case of fraud if they were to not continue support after publicly stating so. Perhaps they don't touch the mod again. If they don't then they just told everyone they will continue to so that Arma sales don't plummet back to 0.

I know and I was getting you back on topic. HAHA

The original post mind you is about the attitudes of forum admins, dev team, and Rocket.
