Commander works perfectly with the Steam version, just make sure you tick the Steam options under the settings tab. PlayWithSIX used to 'work' with the Steam version, it just didn't launch via Steam so you couldn't log hours or use the Steam in-game interface. There's a good chance that SIX has been updated to work properly with Steam now though.

Ah, fair enough. xD It depends on the server really, but in a server that's running on a decent machine you shouldn't drop below the high 30s regardless of map position; 40+ in general and pushing 60 out in open fields.
-
I haven't used it since Commander launched. If I were you I'd just go with Commander (be careful to click the 'download DayZ Commander' and not one of the many 'download useless partner crap' buttons on their site though!). It's got everything you need and some stuff that you don't but is nice to have anyway, lol. But if you're feeling adventurous then why not download both and draw your own conclusions?

SA, proper Bolt, lever action and reloading animations.

BiS are a tiny indie dev team and ArmA games are a massive undertaking. It's impressive that they manage as well as they do TBH. -
It's hard to say how the mod will perform on those weird A series CPU/GPU combos but you should run the mod fine. Get ArmA 2: Free if you want to gauge performance before buying anything. 40+ on med-high settings. If you haven't already bought that machine, I would not recommend it though. Alienware is overpriced junk, you could build a desktop that would max the game out with higher FPS for the same price and probably have a wad of cash left over.

Something easy because most of it is developed (SA)

DayZ infected aren't weak and slow like TWD zombies. I don't really see this being possible, lol. -
And you weren't just using the iPad as a display for your desktop/laptop?
-
The last devblog was concentrating solely on item degradation/damage and weapon customisation (with demonstrations) but if you've got your heart set on being a negative Nancy then don't let me stop you...

Server restarts remove all of the dead zombies, players and items that have been dropped by players on the map. They're necessary to stop a server from slowing down after a few hours of gameplay if there are a lot of people online. As for saving vehicles - they now save automatically, the feature is redundant. It used to be necessary to 'save' vehicles or tents to stop any changes made to them (map positions and gear stored) from being undone on server restarts.

Well that site also claims that you gain 200 humanity from killing bandits if their humanity is negative, so I'm not sure that I'd trust the rest.
-
I'm not sure what PlayWithSIX is like now but when DayZ Commander was first released it was very basic and only allowed you to update the vanilla DayZ mod, whereas Commander had the additional unofficial mods, a server browser with 'favourites' list, a friends list, the ability to launch with Steam and startup paramters.

No, I don't think you'll be able to run DayZ mod on that machine. If you have any more questions please use the Can I Run DayZ? topics, which you can find here... http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/146536-can-i-run-dayz-post-here/page-75 Thanks.

The majority of people don't survive for long enough to experience negative effects from smoking, and I don't think adding 'positive' effects would we wise for obvious reasons. I wouldn't oppose cigarettes being added, but at the same time I don't really think it's something that we need. Maybe a bit later on in the standalone's development...

I was under the impression that you lose humanity for every kill because killing is always wrong, regardless of who you kill. I've been told otherwise by various people, but I'm sure that I've always lost humanity.

So what are you expecting if not KoS?
Mos1ey replied to bfisher's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That's the thing though... In Chernarus food is abundant. But why would you consider shooting him? I think that's one of those of those things that's easy to say but would be a lot harder in reality. I think a lot of people would just hide, and others would call out to them out of desperation. -

Mos1ey replied to bfisher's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I can see where you're coming from but I don't agree. IMO the early days of the mod were a more authentic and enjoyable experience. There were bandits out there, but the majority were friendly and/or wanted to group up. There was kind of an awkward uncertainty when you met someone... Will they shoot me or eventually betray me? There is no uncertainty any more because I'm certain that everyone will shoot me on sight, lol. DayZ was supposed to be a social experiment in a sense, not a deathmatch, and I feel that it's lost a lot of the tension that made it so great because of the KoS mentality of a lot of players. -
I think you'd struggle because of the onboard graphics but it would just about run. I've never actually used one of these A series chips though, so I could be wrong. I'm just judging based on what I've read about them online.

Would run just shy of max settings.

Bringing a sense of value to players which lose their loot.
Mos1ey replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
If you're robbed, as well as the fact that they probably won't take all of your items, you'd probably be left with most of your tool belt items and maybe your backpack, you also may not want to lose your position on the map. I can think of quite a few reasons why it would be better not to die. -
How To Increase FPS/Smooth Out The Game
Mos1ey replied to March1's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
RAM disk won't increase your FPS at all. I have ArmA 2, Operation Arrowhead and DayZ mod all on my SSD and my frame rate is identical to when they were on a regular HDD. All it will do is decrease loading times and help with stuttering. -
During 1.7.7.1 my friend and I got ourselves into a horrible mess... It was a pretty dark night, I was infected and his blood was so low that he was passing out. We both had assault rifles but neither of us had any ammo, medical supplies or a hunting knife. We were screwed... We got ourselves to Green Mountain and someone agreed to bring us two blood bags and a box of antibiotics if we could stay alive until he got to us. While we were waiting my friend realised that he had two grenades, so we hatched a plan that I'm not proud of, but we were desperate... We'd get the guy to climb up and meet us at the top of the tower while we waited up on the platform, I would shine a torch in his face so he couldn't see what was happening and my friend would pop a grenade by the ladder and close the door. It was brilliant! So we waited and waited, and before long I was also passing out from blood loss when finally he arrived... He asked me to pop a flare so that he could see what he was doing, so I did... I could hear him climbing the ladder so I shone my torch at the top, my friend threw the grenade when we saw him reach the top and shut the door. We were both rolling around laughing... BOOM! I opened the door and the guy was just standing there staring at me... 'Did you... Throw a grenade at me?' At this point we could barely even talk to him we were laughing so much. 'Um... Nooo. I threw a flare.' 'Oh, okay... I think someone's trying to kill us.' He then proceeded to patch us up and give me his last box of antibiotics then he left, got hit by a zombie, and got infected. What a night...

Options > Controls > Custom > Option 20 Use that to access the journal, and there should be a little 'Crafting' button underneath the actual journal.

No, absolutely not. Sorry!

If you wanted to 'tell everyone about it' then an 'I feel I was unjustly banned' message would have sufficed. Yes, it's an open forum, but it has rules... 2) Flaming: Any material which constitutes defamation, harassment, or abuse is strictly prohibited. Use common sense while posting.
