  1. Actually he's talking sense. I think it's pretty obvious that he misspoke and you're being pedantic. What he meant is that the item damage mechanic is meant to dissuade players from killing on sight. It is not meant to eliminate banditry or playing killing as a whole, just encourage more interaction for example restraining and robbing or holding up and executing a player to gain their items without damaging them.
  2. But it's undeniable that it would promote deathmatching, which the devs clearly do not agree with and are making efforts to minimise...

    More detailed hospitals

I think it's more to do with wanting DayZ lore to remain player generated. I know he didn't want blood splattered building interiors etc. for the same reason.
  4. Unfortunately being stuborn and/or ignorant is not against the rules. If you're sick of the discussion simply leave the topic.
  5. I just don't go to Cherno or Elektro. I much prefer the route up through Zel and Pustoshka. You can find pretty much everything you'd need on the way, sometimes even enough for 2 people, on the way and you're almost at Stary or the NW airfield once you get there.

    More detailed hospitals

The hospitals are fully enterable in the standalone. Rocket doesn't really want too many things like piles of dead bodies in the standalone for whatever reason, but if there was one place where it would be suitable it would be the hospitals, so maybe they will consider it...

Best Current Version of Day Z?

Vanilla DayZ is still the best IMO. :) 1.8 launched recently and it's great.
  8. No, not because I don't like something. Because an integral feature is not in place yet. Of course there are 'real' zombies in DayZ mod. Just because they're buggy does not mean they aren't there. What an awful analogy... Stress/network testing should be done internally. Even in an alpha build (especially a public alpha build) what could be considered the main gameplay feature should be in place IMO.
  9. Because they're an integral part of the game. IMO it would be like releasing without any weapons.
  10. I'd rather they just didn't release until the zombies were finished.
  11. I know, I don't really think it's a good idea either TBH. They've done all this work introducing mechanics to make people think twice before shooting on sight and then release the game without much else to do. I would assume (or hope) that it wouldn't be a long wait before they were finished and added.

    Crate

None as of yet. Some kind of function will be assigned to it in an upcoming patch.
  13. Well in the last devblog Rocket actually mentioned potentially releasing without even having zombies in the initial build. I think they're really, really keen to get it out at this point.
  14. It hasn't even been that long since the last one. You missed this too, Frags... It's looking like there might not be another devblog now until release.

    22 hour day.

Personally I really like the real-time day/night cycle and would hate to see it go. I wouldn't oppose the idea of this being a server side option though. As long as I can still play with 24 hour days it's all good...

    Social Experiment, Neat Idea

I've thought of doing this in the past but never actually got around to doing it... Let us know how it goes. :)
  17. The mod didn't exist 2 years ago. xD

Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

Just about. You should be okay on low-medium settings.

    Excessive military loot

But if you compare bullet damage the M14 deals more damage per mag. Because the M14 is a battle rifle, it has a much higher effective range.

Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

It looks like you don't have a dedicated graphics card so no, unfortunately you won't be able to run ArmA II or DayZ mod at a playable level. Sorry!

Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

I wouldn't recommend anyone play with post-process effects. I'm running on a 4.4Ghz Ivy Bridge and a GTX 780 and I play with it completely disabled. He might want to drop AA before heading in to cities, but it should be okay on lower settings for the most part.

    Player Revive idea for standalone.

If you're dead (and I assume if you're on the 'you are dead' screen that you are) then no amount on CPR or defibrilating will bring you back... That only works in the movies. You should be trying to revive downed friends while they're unconscious and bleeding out, before they die.

Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

This system would run medium settings fine. Yes, ArmA II and DayZ mod are compatible with Windows 8.
