I never really understood why people insist on pushing saturation up until it looks like a Cawa Doody montage but as DMent said - if you really want to do this you can easily adjust brightness, contrast and colour balance/saturation through NCP/CCC.

MODULAR VEHICLES Concept/Discussion Thread (condensed/updated)
Mos1ey replied to FlimFlamm's topic in Suggestions
Regardless, the chassis and other parts would remain useable even if the engine must be repaired or replaced. Another issue that having a lot of vehicles in Chernarus creates is that the apparent abundance of fuel would also be inauthentic IMO. Vehicles were never hard to find in DayZ, they're quite big and difficult to hide. You just have to know where to look. ;-) I don't think that was the official DayZ mod. You could go miles out into the debug plains in DayZ. -
MODULAR VEHICLES Concept/Discussion Thread (condensed/updated)

Somewhat inauthentic IMO. Realistically someone with mechnical knowledge would be more likely to repair one of the many wrecked cars that are lying around Chernarus than build something from scratch. Would love the ability to "upgrade" vehicles by way of reinforcement to make them more apocalypse friendly though. -
That's a fairly low spec laptop, not really cut out for gaming, nevermind an intensive game like DayZ. You can find performance tweaks here, but I wouldn't expect any miracles... http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154330-possible-fps-enhancer/
-
Would I do it myself? No. Is it a valid strategy? Yes. This is DayZ. Trust no one.
-
I imagine that some kind of knockback from mellee attacks may be added later (making this possible) if we get the kind of physics that I'm hoping for, but I can't see the devs adding a specific "kick off ledge" function.

You can find loads of performance tips here... http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154330-possible-fps-enhancer/

Please don't overclock unless you have the correct know-how and equipment. It wouldn't be a bad idea though.

My friend runs the game alright (not great, but alright) on an FX-6300 and GTX 760. Intel CPUs do perform better, but you should be able to run the game alright on an AMD CPU too. OP, are you using any launch parameters in Steam? Also, try these game settings - everything high/very high, object detail set to very low, no (or low) anti-aliasing and no post-process effects.
-
More than likely. :)
-
It's not that I'm bad at using it, it's just that I think it feels and looks clunky when your character is moving up and down through various stances to find the one that you want.
-
I'm not so sure. I was never a fan of the "scrolling through stances" feeling in Arma 3.
-
The memory allocation commands are supposed to be really good. Unfortunately I never got around to reading up and figuring out which one would work best for me. Will give system a go next time I play. :)
-
It's not even about how much you could have saved. Hell, spend the same amount and build a better rig... :) We're getting a little bit off topic though. Back to performance tweaks please.

game playing on wrong monitor using duel screens
Mos1ey replied to Jaykizzel's topic in Troubleshooting
Have you tried using borderless windowed mode? http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/158754-full-screen-windowed/?hl=windowed -
Great specs but as it's Alienware I can guarantee that you're paying way more than ought to for it. You could build the same machine for less money yourself.
-
Navigate to program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/DayZ Right-click the Dayz .exe file and select properties > compatibility > privilege level > run this program as an administrator
-
There is no fix because that isn't a bug, cities are just far more taxing on your system. Hopefully the devs will be able to work on this when we get to the optimization stages of development, but we'll see.

Moved to DayZ Mod > Troubleshooting.
-
Yup, will run fine on there.
-
You'll only have this issue with certain key combinations. I would recommend saving up and investing in a mechanical keyboard, especially if you're playing CS. :)
-
Their high-end machines are alright spec-wise, but you end up paying about twice what you ought to, in which case you could build a monster of a system anyway. If you break down what you're actually paying for it's usually something like 50% hardware and 50% flashy case.
-
Maybe. Just about. If you're lucky. Would not recommend purchasing with the intention of playing on that machine, sorry! Specs are pretty low, but it would just about run with a bit of tweaking. I wouldn't expect great performance though. Yeah, DayZ will run alright on there. It's definitely worth getting an SSD for your OS and games like Arma and DayZ IMO. Yup, you'll run DayZ on there without too much trouble. No, definitely not. You could build your own system with the same budget that would run DayZ though. Alienware is overpriced junk.

The BAF and PMC DLCs are not required to play DayZ mod. You do get higher resolution player models, backpacks and a few weapons that were taken from those DLCs though, so they're nice to have. :) All you need is Arma 2 and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead. The standalone version of DayZ does not require any other games to play.
